Counterfeit Hero

Chapter 1619: Chapter 72: Direct Display of Strength (Part 2)

Leicht never expected Fatty would claim that Rampage’s technique is outdated.

How is anyone else supposed to live with that?

Leicht looked at the Rampage mechas parked by the side of the ranch, feeling an itch of desire.

This kind of mecha, just its appearance alone makes him captivated. This level of industrial design prowess is undoubtedly the pinnacle of this era. Having heard so much about the legends of Rampage and watched recordings of the bandit army’s encounters with Judgers on Leifeng Star, personally driving such a mecha has become his greatest wish.

This isn’t something money can buy. Without the bandit army’s approval, even the Phantom Corps couldn’t get one!

”Want to see the true power of Rampage?” Fatty turned his head and glanced at Wagstaff, who was sluggishly giving guidance to the guards, then took out a communicator.

”I do!” The shout came immediately from Carli and Carey. The young boy and girl blurted out before realizing their stance, their faces turning red.

”Alright then.” Fatty didn’t look at the two youngsters, considerately sparing them from embarrassment. He nodded, opened the communicator, and said a few words quietly to Wagstaff.

The noisy hill instantly quieted down. The guards learning evasion techniques backed away. Feeling the abnormality from that direction, members of the Hastings family, who were drinking tea and chatting, stretched their necks and watched the small hill where Wagstaff stood without blinking.

Having accepted Fatty’s directive, Wagstaff wasn’t eager to perform.

At over forty, he no longer harbored the competitiveness and vanity of youth, but that doesn’t mean he’s lost his passion. On the contrary, when he firmly grasped the universal control stick and his fingers touched the virtual keyboard, every move he made carried the composure and dominance of a king.

He was originally a Level 3 Mecha War God from the Thousand Army Sect.

Before meeting Fatty, he believed he could never touch the throne of a Level 1 Mecha War God in his lifetime. As age increased, physical strength inevitably dwindled, breaking through to become a Second-level Mecha War God was an extremely difficult aspiration.

However, during that time, the Thousand Army Sect was fortunate to join the bandit army. Subsequently, he truly touched mechanical control techniques that were a thousand times more perfect and elemental than the core techniques treasured by their Sect Master. After that, he followed Fatty in campaigns day after day, honing his skills.

Looking back today, the War God standards from past eras seem like the speed of cars from thousands of years ago. Some things always become history unknowingly.

The Thousand Army Sect, named for sweeping thousands of armies, is known for its bold and swift techniques, with attacks extremely fierce. At this moment, he will use his techniques to conquer everyone here!

With the most straightforward way, show everyone the strength of the bandit army!

Casting his sight toward Fatty by the ranch fence, Wagstaff flipped his left hand, and the universal control stick, like a living serpent, swiftly darted between various gears and levels of the mecha, propelled by subtle movements of fingers and wrists, pushing the roar of the engine fluidly to the peak.

Boom! A loud bang, an invisible shockwave appeared as nearby people’s hair, clothes edges, and the grass on the ground swayed. The black mecha shot straight from the hilltop like a missile, cutting through the sky over the ranch, flipped in mid-air, and stomped fiercely on the ground.

With the greed of Rampage descending like a demon from beyond, the ground was immediately stamped with two massive pits by the enormous steel mechanical feet.

As soil and grass turf splashed up, Rampage punched forth.

One punch, and in the dust-laden air, there appeared a distortion as countless specks of dust spun in the abruptly arisen gale, exploding suddenly.

Two punches, three punches... countless fists broke out, leaving no visible trace, only the countless sounds of explosion following the mecha’s high-speed advance, with dirt and grass fragments never settling before being blasted repeatedly. Whirling wildly around the mecha.

The sound of sonic booms, screeches, mechanical motions, and engine roars intertwined, akin to never-ending rolling thunder, racing on the hillside. Where it passed, winds scattered clouds apart.

Moments later, the mecha suddenly transformed, incorporating leg techniques.

Two iron legs like long whips, alternating back and forth in the air, visible only as a constantly rotating phantom. The wind tore apart, the dust shredded, leaves vibrating in flight fragmented, even sunlight seemed torn apart.

The entire farm fell into dead silence.

Leicht’s breathing unknowingly accelerated with Rampage mecha’s actions.

Beside him, Carli and Carey, the young mecha enthusiasts, with flushed faces and glowing eyes, had noses and foreheads covered in fine sweat.

On the other side of the slope, many Hastings family members already stood up, their gazes vacant as they watched the mecha under the sunlight, momentarily captivated by the terrifying whirl of sound.

Rampage landed, turned, the mecha body like a forcefully shot football, spinning wildly in the air, bending a curve, sweeping from the left side of the hill, skimming over mid-slope, landing on the right side of the hill.

”Rapid Spin!” Leicht looked at Fatty in shock.

This is a theoretical maneuver on the mechanical control standards, similar to Small Plate Rotation, theoretically feasible but in reality, no one has been able to execute.

The previous advanced techniques of Rampage mecha’s punches and kicks, he knew they were terrifying but didn’t know their names. But this maneuver, he was familiar with. It’s known that, in theory, it requires at least eighty hand movements per second to perform this Level 9 maneuver!

With Leicht’s shout, the entire ranch erupted in awe.

No one could believe their eyes. This legendary maneuver could actually happen before them, and so smoothly, so effortlessly.

Just as the exclamation subsided, Rampage’s left foot tapped the ground, leveraging the lightning-fast advance, the body drew a curve and flew less than twenty meters forward, then suddenly swung back like a boomerang.

Simultaneously, a large tree was smashed into splintering debris, and one phantom after another drifted out ghost-like from the mecha.

One, two, three..... a total of nine phantoms, flitting east and west on the hillside.

In the warm winter sun, everyone present suddenly felt a bone-chilling dread. No one had the confidence to face this devil without being crushed. The guards present didn’t even dare to imagine the scene if this black mecha charged into their mecha group.

Leicht swallowed hard and asked, ”How many warriors like this does the bandit army have?”

Carli and Carey almost simultaneously perked their ears.

”Wagstaff is one of the top War Gods in the bandit army.” Answering Leicht was Margaret, ”The bandit army has about one hundred such Mecha War Gods of this caliber.”

”A hundred?!” Leicht found himself unable to remain calm. Beside him, Carli and Carey were even more flabberghasted, eyes dazed.

”However....” Margaret smiled faintly, ”The bandit army has about three thousand who can perform maneuvers like Rapid Spin and Small Plate Rotation....”

Watching the splendid expressions on the faces of playmates who grew up together, Margaret glanced at the more bemused expressions on Carli and Carey, the members of the Hastings family standing and those looking on from afar, including Adolf, whose eyes were glazed over, she felt that, not giving the full story wasn’t the right thing to do as a lady.

”If we have one more year, warriors of this rank, the bandit army will exceed twenty thousand!” Meeting Leight’s incredulous gaze, she smiled and raised three fingers.

”Three divisions!”

Leicht shook his head and quickly shifted his gaze to Fatty. He decided that Margaret, known for her tendency to deceive, must be lying this time.

Turning his head, Fatty, with bruises and swollen face, restrainedly smiled, looking humble.
