Chapter 1607: Chapter 63: Possibility_3

This isn’t the data of a single battle, but rather the data from dozens to hundreds of encounters over the recent period.

Although Leefer is formidable, he is nonetheless not a god.

With roughly equal forces, the jump points between the two star systems far apart, and the battle focus concentrated on Salamanca, among countless skirmishes, he simply couldn’t dispatch more forces to the Bentley Duke Star System.

To put it simply, it’s like two groups of students fighting, with six against six at the south gate and three against three at the north gate. If one party at the south gate sends three people to the north gate, that means before those three reach their destination, their companions have already been taken down.

No commander would make such a decision. You can’t expect a commander who is difficult to trap and has already demonstrated considerable military talent to make such an automatic error!

Without more forces and no extraordinary entities like the bandit army, Leefer simply couldn’t claim to defeat his opponent outright.

Taking a step back, even if his military strategy was unparalleled and he successfully implemented a diversionary plan, given the opponent’s strength displayed in previous battles, he would still have to pay a considerable price!

It is absolutely impossible to achieve the sweeping victory shown in the battle report!

This logic is as faulty as suggesting that one plus one equals seventy-two.

Unless the battle report is fake, or there was a mishap with the Western Alliance Forces, or Leefer and the Western Alliance colluded to stage this drama!

These thoughts had just flashed through her mind when Margaret quickly dismissed them. Logically, the chances of these speculations becoming reality wouldn’t exceed one in ten thousand!

So what is really going on? She turned her head and saw Fatty pacing around, furrowing his brows, seemingly racking his brain.

Suddenly, Fatty stopped, scratched his scalp, grabbed the uniform hanging on the chair back, and held Margaret’s hand as they walked out.

”Where are we going?!” Margaret exclaimed.

”I have some questions for your grandfather.” Fatty hurriedly moved forward.

”What questions?” Margaret resignedly followed Fatty, her slender waist swaying, leading her ample hips and long legs in a quick trot.

Fatty’s eyes narrowed dangerously into a slit. He led Margaret quickly through the corridor to Hastings’s room, pushed open the door, and facing Hastings’s gaze, took a deep breath and said.

”I want to know the origin of the Leefer family!”

”I know you’re thinking whether Leefer is someone from the Western Alliance, or if he has some kind of connection with Sobel. But, the truth might not be as you think,” Hastings closed the paper journal in his hand, carefully placed it under his pillow, and spoke thoughtfully, ”Perhaps, we should consider another possibility.”

”What possibility?” Fatty exclaimed in surprise.

Sobel fostering Leefer secretly and sacrificing Allied forces to let Leefer rise to the pinnacle in Feiyang was the most absurd yet the most plausible answer he could think of.

Yet to his surprise, this possibility was directly overturned by Hastings.

Clearly, the old man possessed some other insights.

Under the eager gaze of Fatty and Margaret, Hastings pondered for a long time and finally said slowly, ”Although there is no definitive evidence, based on a report I have, I have reason to believe that the Leefer family might be descendants of the Nademick Dynasty....
