Counterfeit Hero

Chapter 1613: Chapter 69: A Forceful Greeting Gift

Fatty’s words once again stirred up a commotion.

Morrison and Nickel could hardly believe their ears, while Charlotte and Emily exaggeratedly opened their mouths, expressing disbelief with mocking laughter.

Who does this Fatty think he is? How dare he speak so boldly in front of the Hastings family at Sars Manor?

Adolf looked at the finger Fatty pointed at his chest, his mind in a muddle.

It wasn’t because of fear, but because of shock. He never thought that someone, visiting the Hastings’ household for the first time, dared to say something like this!

Having met shameless people before, they had never seen someone so shameless!

For a moment, a feeling of frustration clogged everyone’s vision, their chest swelling. In front of this Fatty, they realized all their provocations were nothing more than childish antics. Their mocking provocations and deliberately posed expressions had no effect at all.

That Fatty used an even worse method and directly stuffed a fly into their mouths!

Adolf stared at Fatty’s hand, his gaze becoming as sharp as a knife.

He was twenty-eight years old. Within the Hastings family, he had always been one of the most valued members of the third generation.

Although, in terms of the family lineage, this young serving Feiyang Republic Interstellar Navy Rear Admiral belonged to a branch of the Hastings family that was only distantly related, requiring a trace back to his great-grandfather to establish a connection. However, this did not affect his status within the family.

In the eyes of the Hastings family elders, Adolf had always been very smart from a young age.

Among the group of children such as Margaret, Tony, and Diana, he always played the role of the leader. This was a display of innate organizational skills.

As he grew up, Adolf naturally became a representative figure among the third generation of the Hastings family.

At just twenty-eight years old, he was already the ship captain of the Feiyang Republic Hydefield Military District’s 15th fleet on the Unicorn-class Battleship ”Viper” and also the chief commander of the Second Battleship Brigade.

This wasn’t an achievement, but merely a foundation.

He always believed that as long as he had an opportunity, he would truly push open the doors of supreme power within the Fei Alliance Military and the Hastings family!

He didn’t foolishly aspire to stand at the peak. But he believed he could stand closest to Margaret!

That was enough!

But to his disappointment, the opportunity he anticipated had never arrived since the war began.

When Tony, Diana, Isaac, and other third-generation members entered the Phantom Corps and began engaging in warfare, when another branch child of the Hastings family, Leicht, had already become a young leader with the nickname Judge within the Phantom Corps, Hastings seemed to have completely forgotten about him.

If it were only this, Adolf could endure it. He believed all of it was temporary. He could lie in wait for the moment to soar into the sky. But just then, the old man went to the Southeast Star Domain and brought back a Fatty from the Leray Federation.

Ever since he found out this Fatty named Tian Xingjian would become his admired Margaret’s fiancé and the future leader of the Hastings family, Adolf knew he could no longer endure!

For him and Morrison and others, this was an unacceptable result.

They lived within the strongest family of humanity’s first superpower, only they themselves knew the terrible strength this family wielded.

Even if many things were hidden behind Hastings’ eyes like silent abysses without revealing themselves, it did not hinder them from feeling the family’s power throughout the years.

For thirty years, the Hastings family was a colossal force even the President couldn’t shake. This family controlled countless people’s destinies. The nobility bowed their heads and displayed humility before them. The invincible Feiyang military fought on all fronts under their control.

One could say the entire position of the Feiyang Republic depended on the family, depended on the old man sitting in a wheelchair!

How could the future of such an overwhelmingly powerful giant be handed over to a Fatty from the small country of Leray?

From the first day they knew about this Fatty, they weren’t prepared to silently accept it all.

No matter what way, they would make Hastings abandon this ridiculous notion and make this Fatty who was ignorant of the heights of the sky retreat in difficulty!

Sunlight spilled onto the steps outside the doorway of the small building, the mixed smell of grain feed and cattle in the manor gradually calmed Adolf down.

Every month, he would spend a week here. Since the age of six, for twenty-two years uninterrupted.

This was his territory!

He would use his fists to give this boasting Fatty a harsh lesson!

Among the third generation of the Hastings family members, when it came to hand-to-hand combat, except for that fellow named Leicht, no one was a match for Adolf!

”You want to hit me?” Adolf twisted his neck, flexed his joints, and laughed.

The Hastings family absolutely wasn’t a place for a Fatty from Leray to run amok. Even if Hastings’ health was declining, the family members didn’t need to rely on the bandit army’s help to contend with Leefer.

Dominating this war can only be the Feiyang Republic! Only the Feiyang Soldiers! Only the elite from the Feiyang Republic and the Hastings family! No matter how strong the bandit army’s Mecha warriors are, or how much the media hypes them, they are nothing more than small sharks beside a giant whale compared to the vast Feiyang Military.

Adolf’s smile was like a lake in a cold night, frozen into ice. He suddenly took off his jacket and threw it to the ground, revealing his muscular physique!

Amidst Charlotte and Emily’s nearly obsessed gazes, he half-closed his eyes, curled his lips, and gently beckoned the Fat gentleman: ”Let me see if your fist is as hard as your mouth!”

”Brother Adolf, teach him a lesson!” Charlotte picked up Adolf’s clothes, while Emily shouted with undisguised excitement on her face.

The gloomy Hastings family seemed to come alive at this moment. Even this manor, which they previously disliked, became endearing. They were practically trembling with excitement.

With Emily’s enthusiastic shout, the bandit soldiers dining in the room on the other side of the front courtyard and accompanying manor guards rushed out. Everyone stared wide-eyed, watching a group of people who were just exchanging pleasantries suddenly confront each other like enraged bulls, with mutual perplexity about what transpired.

”What’s going on?” Hagrove asked while gnawing on a chicken leg.

A guard still holding a bowl said, ”Brothers, it seems your General is arguing with our General Adolf.”

Another guard stepped forward and exclaimed, ”It’s not arguing, it’s fighting!”

”Captain, should we go up and stop them?” a short guard turned his head to look at his officer.

Before the guard captain could speak, Baz shook his head and said, ”Don’t go, even though I’m a member of the bandit army, I’ve been fed up with that Fatty for a long time. If they really fight, he will definitely get beaten, anyway, these are matters between the officers, we grunts can’t meddle!”

”Is this okay?” The guards widened their eyes at Baz.

Baz snorted coldly, ”The one getting beaten is our superior, what are you worried about? Look at his physique......”

With the appearance of the bandit army Mecha soldiers and guards, the stairs in the front courtyard of the small building became bustling. However, the people in the dining room never came out.

”Adolf!” Morrison and Nickel pretended to scold.

They drew a line, putting on a stance of considering the bigger picture, glancing at the dining room window while saying to Adolf, ”Don’t do something stupid, how can you stoop to his level?”

Adolf ignored them, lowered his shoulders and bent his knees, like a cold-eyed leopard, fixating on his prey.

”Come!” The Fat gentleman grinned, adding fuel to the fire and gestured at Adolf.

Adolf let out a loud roar and swung a punch at the Fat gentleman’s face. His movements were extremely quick, his whole body moved forward with his feet, like a cannonball out of the barrel!

All the guards present knew that in terms of combat, Adolf was at the level of a Special Soldier!

Just as this punch was about to hit the Fat gentleman’s cheek, suddenly, the Fat gentleman moved. This seemingly clumsy guy instantly turned into a raging bear, dodging Adolf’s attack with lightning speed, while leaning in and delivering a hook that slammed into Adolf’s face.

This punch directly made Adolf’s head tilt back, spewing nosebleeds. Amidst startled gasps, before he could pull back his fist, the Fat gentleman raised his leg for a straight kick to Adolf’s abdomen, sending his entire body airborne like a sandbag, flying backward.

Hiss! Around, the guards made gasping sounds, turning their heads, the bandit soldiers shook their heads one after another. The guy named Baz put a cigarette in his mouth, lit up, and said sorrowfully, ”Getting into a fight with Fat gentle major, is that guy a fool?”

When Adolf’s body crashed to the ground, Charlotte and Emily’s terrified screams simultaneously echoed, piercing the sky above the entire manor.

”Silence!” With a faint reprimand, Charlotte and Emily quickly shut their mouths. It seemed the noise outside the dining room just then startled those within. Hastings, with Margaret’s urging, appeared at the dining room door: ”Have you had enough of this ruckus?”

”He hit me!” The Fat gentlemen stiffened his neck and accused first.

The commotion vanished without a trace, leaving everyone unable to believe their ears. Charlotte and Emily were trembling with anger. Though the Fat gentleman hadn’t laid a finger on them throughout, for some reason, they felt as though they had been violated.

The late winter warm sun hung quietly overhead, making the entire manor eerily silent.

Standing behind Hastings were an elderly man with a hunched back and a middle-aged man as upright as a javelin. They suddenly exchanged glances and there was a trace of a smile at the corners of their mouths.

.Following words not charged.

Looking at everyone’s comments, I feel warm inside. The greatest gain from writing this book is having such sincere friends.

.My mother’s illness, she had an ultrasound yesterday, showing a mass of 7 point something cm, 2 point something cm, and 4 point something cm. The whole family is nearly having a breakdown. Considering my mother’s illness, if something like that appeared suddenly....

However, results from today’s blood report showed the cancer cells were lower than the average person’s level, and the CT didn’t find anything. It’s still not certain though because that damned hospital actually missed the vein while injecting the contrast agent, causing the whole hand to swell.

After a couple of days, I decided to take her to Sichuan Medical University instead. That Jinsha Hospital can’t be trusted at all.
