Checking in for 100,000 Years

Chapter 192: Chapter 192: Fight Over Immortal Herbs, Beat Up the Nine-tailed Fox Demon

「A day quickly passed.」

The Big Black Cat didn’t find a second Eternal Life Immortal Grass while roaming the Nine Soul Underground Palace. Instead, he encountered several waves of Ghost Lice, managing to evade them after some close calls.

”There’s a Giant Demon Yam Flower ahead!” Little Cat, holding the Heavenly Spirit Mirror, suddenly pointed in a certain direction.

”Then let’s take a different passage...” The Big Black Cat quickly shook his head, preparing to head down another passage.

Little Cat, however, pulled him back.

”What is it?” The Big Black Cat raised an eyebrow.

”Big Brother, there’s an Eternal Life Immortal Grass behind that Giant Demon Yam Flower!” Little Cat smiled sweetly.

”Really?” The Big Black Cat instantly perked up as if he’d had a shot of adrenaline, his excitement surging.

However, the thought of the corrosive liquid the Giant Demon Yam Flower could spew still made him a little fearful. But, lured by the Eternal Life Immortal Grass, the Big Black Cat decided to risk it.

”You wait here for me...” Gritting his teeth, the Big Black Cat instructed Little Cat, then rapidly transformed into a streak of black light and flew towards the Giant Demon Yam Flower.

”Good luck, and be careful...” Little Cat shouted from behind him.

Her life was now tied to the Nine-tailed Spirit Cat. If anything happened to him, it would be very difficult for her to escape this place.

Although the Big Black Cat was very fast, the moment his entire body plunged into the black mist, he still alerted the Giant Demon Yam Flower. It was as if this mist acted as the Giant Demon Yam Flower’s tendrils.

HISS! HISS!

Countless golden filaments, like agile serpents, shot towards the black light to capture it. But the streak of black light was simply too fast; the golden threads couldn’t catch up at all.

Just as the Big Black Cat was about to pass the Giant Demon Yam Flower, its bud suddenly burst open, spewing out an overwhelming torrent of black liquid. The Big Black Cat had been wary of this. He rapidly changed direction in mid-air, swooping low and hugging the ground as he sped towards the hazy golden glow in the distance.

The black liquid missed its target, splattering onto the ground with a sizzling, corrosive sound.

WHOOSH! WHOOSH!

The Giant Demon Yam Flower’s countless golden filaments thrashed wildly in the air, as if expressing its inner fury.

”HAHA!” The Big Black Cat glanced back in mid-air. Seeing that the Giant Demon Yam Flower hadn’t pursued him, he couldn’t help but laugh triumphantly twice.

He’d figured it out too. The Giant Demon Yam Flower couldn’t move; it could only attack from its fixed position. Once he was beyond its range, the Giant Demon Yam Flower was powerless to attack him.

On the ground in the distance, a hazy golden light enveloped an Eternal Life Immortal Grass. This Eternal Life Immortal Grass had six leaves and was twice as tall as the one he’d found before. Seeing this, the Big Black Cat was ecstatic. The quality of this Eternal Life Immortal Grass surpassed that of the previous one.

”Haha, I found an Eternal Life Immortal Grass!”

Just then, two figures flew in from another passage, also lunging for this Eternal Life Immortal Grass.

The Big Black Cat was furious. They think they can snatch my Eternal Life Immortal Grass? He fully activated his Teleportation Boots, transforming into a beam of light and landing in front of the Eternal Life Immortal Grass first. He reached out, plucked the Eternal Life Immortal Grass, and stored it in his storage ring.

Just then, two figures descended from the sky, landing before the Big Black Cat.

”Hand over the Eternal Life Immortal Grass at once, or you’ll forfeit your life!” Seeing that the Eternal Life Immortal Grass had been taken, one of the men spoke with extreme arrogance.

The Big Black Cat looked at the two men. One was at the Seventh Layer of the Divine Bridge Realm, the same as his cultivation level, while the other was at the Eighth Layer of the Divine Bridge Stage.

”Are you two looking to die?” the Big Black Cat said coldly.

”Don’t think you’re so great just because you’re a Destiny Realm cultivator out there. In here, you’re just at the Divine Bridge Realm like us! What’s there to be arrogant about?” One of the men burst out laughing. He had, of course, recognized the black-robed young man before him at a glance. They had arrived relatively early and, while waiting outside the mountain gate, had seen this Fate Realm Level 3 Big Monster meditating on the ground. Outside, this Fate Realm Level 3 Big Monster was an absolute behemoth to minor demons like them, who were only at the Divine Bridge Realm. However, inside the Nine Soul Underground Palace, everyone’s cultivation was suppressed to the Divine Bridge Realm, so they no longer felt any fear. Now, being two against one, they felt even more emboldened.

Seeing these two arrogant Divine Bridge Realm Demon Clan men, the Big Black Cat fumed with rage. He raised his Black Shield and immediately smashed it down towards the pair. One of the men drew a sword, meeting the Black Shield. The other man drew a Silver Knife and slashed at the Big Black Cat’s back. The two attacked him from front and back. For a moment, flashes of saber light and sword shadows filled the entire deep, dark passage.

BANG!

A shocking murderous intent flashed in the Big Black Cat’s eyes. His Black Shield suddenly accelerated, whistling through the air, and sent the Longsword flying. Then he spun around quickly and brought his Black Shield crashing down on the man wielding the Silver Knife.

BOOM!

The Black Shield collided with the Silver Knife, producing a massive crash. An immense force surged through the blade, and the Silver Knife was instantly ripped from the man’s grasp.

”Die!” The Big Black Cat snarled, raising the Black Shield and smashing it down.

SPLAT!

This Demon Clan man was instantly smashed into a bloody mist by the Black Shield.

Seeing things turn dire, the other man turned to flee. The Big Black Cat lunged forward at extreme speed and killed the man with his Black Shield.

”Damn it! You take Old Cat for a pushover just because I don’t show my claws?” The Big Black Cat grinned triumphantly, turning to go back and meet up with Little Cat.

Suddenly, a beam of white light descended from the sky.

”Nine-tailed Spirit Cat, it’s been a thousand years! You’ve really made something of yourself. And that treasure in your hand isn’t bad at all!”

The white light dissipated, revealing the graceful figure of the Nine-tailed Fox Demon.

”Nine-tailed Fox Demon, you’re like a persistent ghost! Why do you show up everywhere?” The Big Black Cat brandished his Black Shield, his face full of killing intent, and said, ”Don’t try to provoke me, or you’ll regret it!”

”Is that so?” The Nine-tailed Fox Demon’s watery eyes landed on the Big Black Cat, a peculiar light dancing within them.

”Here we go again...” the Big Black Cat cursed. This Nine-tailed Fox Demon had, without him noticing, launched another Illusion Technique attack.

Layers upon layers of illusions flooded the Big Black Cat’s vision. Knowing this was bad, he immediately activated his Sky Exterminating Phantom Eye. The last time, he had broken the Nine-tailed Fox Demon’s Illusion Technique using the Sky Exterminating Phantom Eye. So, this time he intended to use the same trick. Tiny, star-like rune phantoms flashed in his eyes, and a Magical Force instantly surged forth. It began to counteract the Illusion Technique assailing him from all sides.

But what the Big Black Cat hadn’t expected was that this time, the Nine-tailed Fox Demon seemed to be prepared. The Illusion Technique she cast this time was even more powerful than before. The power of his Sky Exterminating Phantom Eye was utterly overwhelmed in an instant. The Big Black Cat was on the verge of falling into the Illusory Realm.

「Ye Yun smiled.」

This Nine-tailed Fox Demon is truly shameless, pushing her luck after being shown such leniency. The Big Black Cat has already put up with her so many times. Yet this little Monster is still relentlessly pursuing him, determined to snatch the Eternal Life Immortal Grass from the Big Black Cat’s hands.

Ye Yun’s gaze flickered. A tiny, star-like rune suddenly appeared in the Big Black Cat’s eye. This rune, a faint purple, radiated a terrifying light. An indescribable Magical Force surged out, shattering all the surrounding illusory scenes.

The Nine-tailed Fox Demon was greatly astonished. How is this possible? She clearly had the upper hand just moments ago and had successfully trapped the Nine-tailed Spirit Cat in the Illusory Realm. How could the Nine-tailed Spirit Cat suddenly turn the tables?

Her vision swam, the world spinning around her. Layers of illusions washed over her like a tide, and the Nine-tailed Fox Demon was instantly lost in their depths.

”Huh?” The Big Black Cat snapped back to alertness. He shook his head, suddenly realizing he had broken free from the Nine-tailed Fox Demon’s Illusion Technique.

What just happened? Could it be that my Sky Exterminating Phantom Eye has finally reached the initial stage of mastery?

The Big Black Cat blinked and suddenly discovered a tiny, faint purple, star-like rune deep within his left eye. An expression of utter shock appeared on the Big Black Cat’s face. He distinctly remembered cultivating the Sky Exterminating Phantom Eye for so long, yet never before had such a clear rune appeared. But now, a distinct rune had actually appeared.

”HAHAHA! It seems I’ve truly reached the initial stage! A rune has finally appeared...” The Big Black Cat laughed uproariously, his expression almost manic with excitement. He was utterly obsessed with this Sky Exterminating Phantom Eye. After all, he remembered the Old Master saying that this Divine Skill could be cultivated all the way to the God King Mirror.

Seeing the Big Black Cat getting carried away in his excitement, Ye Yun casually flicked his finger, and the purple rune immediately vanished.

The Big Black Cat suddenly noticed this change, and his expression instantly shifted from elation to dejection.

”ALAS! My Sky Exterminating Phantom Eye is still unstable. That rune vanished again...” he said, dismayed. The Big Black Cat then took a couple of steps forward. He saw the Nine-tailed Fox Demon still standing motionless, her eyes staring blankly at a point in the void, apparently trapped deep within an Illusory Realm and unable to break free.

The Big Black Cat gave a sinister chuckle. ”Nine-tailed Fox Demon, I never thought you’d see a day like this! Old Cat definitely won’t spare you today!”

Remembering old scores and fresh grievances, the Big Black Cat charged forward, raised his Black Shield, and brutally slammed the Nine-tailed Fox Demon to the ground.

BAM!

The blow was extremely heavy. It struck the Nine-tailed Fox Demon so hard that she saw stars, her insides churned, and blood trickled from the corner of her mouth. In that instant, she was jolted out of the illusion.

But now, the Big Black Cat was sitting on her back, raising his Black Shield over her rear and bringing it down hard.

SMACK!

A crisp sound echoed through the dark passage.

”AH!” A woman’s shrill cry followed, like the howl of a vixen in the dead of night—utterly miserable and earth-shatteringly loud.

「Elsewhere, Little Cat heard this sound, a bewildered expression on her face.」

Isn’t that the Nine-tailed Fox Demon? She raised her Heavenly Spirit Mirror, pouring Mana into it, but couldn’t see the scene she was looking for. It seems the distance is still too great...

She cautiously edged towards the Giant Demon Yam Flower. After covering roughly a hundred feet, an image finally appeared on the Heavenly Spirit Mirror. On it, a black-robed young man was sitting on a white-clad woman, repeatedly striking her rear with the Black Shield in his hand. Each strike made a crisp sound, accompanied by a piercing shriek.

Big Brother... he’s so savage! He actually managed to subdue the Nine-tailed Fox Demon! Little Cat, seeing this familiar scene, couldn’t help but rub her own backside. Her plump rear still throbbed with a burning pain. It seems I really can’t afford to offend Big Brother in the future, or my backside will pay the price... Little Cat’s face paled slightly as she thought with lingering fear.

”Bao’er! I didn’t expect to find you here! You’ve certainly made me search hard for you...” Just as Little Cat was somewhat lost in thought, a deep male voice suddenly sounded from behind her. The voice was filled with immense surprise and delight.

Little Cat turned her head and saw a burly man in black armor standing not far off. It was her fiancé, the man known as Stupid and Naïve.

”How did you follow me here again? You’re truly like a persistent shadow!” Little Cat frowned, but her body slowly retreated, drawing ever closer to the Giant Demon Yam Flower.

”You are my fiancée, and I am your fiancé! Our parents have already agreed to this. How can you go back on your word?” The black-armored man chuckled and walked over, his eyes filled with a fervent look.

”Let me think about this some more. I’ll give you an answer in a year, alright?” Little Cat said calmly. She continued to retreat slowly, getting nearer and nearer to the Giant Demon Yam Flower.

”Bao’er, don’t retreat any further! That Giant Demon Yam Flower will kill you!” The black-armored man immediately reached out to grab Little Cat.

Little Cat abruptly flew up and sped towards the Giant Demon Yam Flower.

”Are you really trying to get yourself killed?” The black-armored man stomped his foot hard and immediately chased after her.

Just then, countless golden filaments suddenly shot out from the Giant Demon Yam Flower’s bud like agile vipers. Some flew towards Little Cat, while others targeted the black-armored man. Little Cat flashed her Heavenly Spirit Mirror. A beam of light shot out, instantly immobilizing some of the golden filaments in mid-air! She didn’t dare to linger for even a moment and quickly flew towards the Big Black Cat.

The black-armored man drew his saber and slashed down hard, instantly severing countless golden threads.

”Bao’er, come back! Are you really trying to die?” Seeing Little Cat’s body pass by the Giant Demon Yam Flower, the black-armored man remembered the terrifying black liquid and hurriedly shouted a warning.

WHOOSH!

The Giant Demon Yam Flower’s white bud suddenly burst open, and a jet of black liquid shot out from within. It spread out like a vast black net, blanketing the sky as it descended upon Little Cat.

In her desperation, Little Cat raised the Heavenly Spirit Mirror in her hands and poured all her Mana into it. Instantly, a colossal, dazzling beam of light shot skyward, meeting the sheet of black, corrosive liquid. Amazingly, this beam of light managed to block the corrosive black liquid. Seizing this hair’s breadth opportunity, Little Cat desperately fled in the Big Black Cat’s direction.

”Damn it!” The black-armored man stomped his foot fiercely, drew his saber, and chased after Little Cat. Having finally found his fiancée alone, he was determined to capture her and bring her back. This Nine Soul Underground Palace was simply too bizarre and fraught with danger; he really didn’t want to stay here any longer.

「Meanwhile...」

”Nine-tailed Spirit Cat, you actually dared to strike me today! Sooner or later, I will repay this tenfold, no, a hundredfold!!” The Nine-tailed Fox Demon turned her head. After letting out another wretched scream, her almond-shaped eyes widened as she glared viciously at the Big Black Cat and uttered a threat.

”Old Cat has never feared threats! Hehe, the flesh on your little bottom is quite soft. Even after spanking you for so long, it hasn’t swollen up like a small hill...” The Big Black Cat grinned wickedly. He raised his Black Shield again, preparing to bring it smashing down.
