Checking in for 100,000 Years

Chapter 183: Chapter 183: Sudden Changes, The Demon Clan Takes Over

”What do I need your Eternal Life Immortal Grass for? Keep it once you get it. If there’s any surplus, give it to your two senior sisters. This time, I’m sending you to the Nine Soul Underground Palace for training...” Ye Yun waved his hand dismissively as he spoke with a grin.

As such an Old Ancestor, he lacked no resources. If he were to display the resources within his warehouse, it would shock every cultivator under the heavens to death, sending even the Heavenly Dao into collapse.

He intended to send Jun Moxiao to the Nine Soul Underground Palace for a reason. Firstly, he wanted Jun Moxiao to compete with the prodigies from all major Sects while he was there. Secondly, he intended to do as he had done before: place a strand of his Primordial Spirit within Jun Moxiao’s mind to see the true situation within the Nine Soul Underground Palace.

A hundred thousand years ago, Ye Yun had a certain curiosity about the Nine Soul Underground Palace. This time, by placing a strand of his Primordial Spirit within Jun Moxiao’s mind, he could satisfy the curiosity he once held.

”Alright, Old Ancestor...” Jun Moxiao nodded somewhat awkwardly.

With a wave of his hand, Ye Yun sent Jun Moxiao out of the carriage.

The next moment, Jun Moxiao appeared on a mountaintop, over a hundred li from the Nine Soul Underground Palace.

”Hey, the training begins!” Jun Moxiao took a deep breath, his small face instantly brimming with excitement.

Deep down, he was thrilled that the Old Ancestor had tasked him with training in the Nine Soul Underground Palace. After all, at the Dragon God Sect, he was the youngest junior apprentice brother. Previously, he always had to follow his senior sisters in every action. Now, he finally had the chance to strike out on his own.

After Jun Moxiao figured out the direction, he flew quickly towards the Nine Soul Underground Palace.

「Back in the carriage.」

This little guy... Seeing Jun Moxiao’s expression, Ye Yun couldn’t help but chuckle. It seemed that the Emperor Level Sword he had given Jun Moxiao was indeed necessary. Boys... they need to go through some hardships.

Before transmigrating, although Ye Yun was an unmarried young man with no children, he was aware of a popular saying on Earth: Boys should be raised in hardship, girls in comfort. Raising a girl in comfort would ensure she wouldn’t be easily swayed by minor favors. Raising a boy in hardship would encourage a competitive spirit, which would benefit him in his future endeavors. If a boy were raised in comfort, he would often become a hedonistic, second-generation rich kid—something Ye Yun didn’t want to see.

Having experienced much and lived two lives, he naturally would not raise Jun Moxiao in such a way. So, Ye Yun planned to put Jun Moxiao through more challenges to accelerate his growth. After all, among the younger generation of the Dragon God Sect, he was the only male.

...

Without stopping, Jun Moxiao flew straight to the area near the Nine Soul Underground Palace, where he found it already crowded with people. Many Ancient Families, major Sects, and even some Imperial Families had sent people here. This testified to the irresistible allure the Eternal Life Immortal Grass held for all the major powers.

Jun Moxiao chose a less populated area, descended from the sky, and stood there, quietly waiting.

Not long after, Jun Moxiao saw a golden ray of light emanate from the Nine Soul Underground Palace. This ray formed a golden scroll in midair.

What was that?

The crowd grew restless, with everyone looking up. Everyone wanted to know what was written on that scroll. Never before, in all the times the Nine Soul Underground Palace had manifested, had such a thing occurred.

At that moment, under the expectant gaze of the crowd, the scroll slowly unfurled. It bore a line of large characters:

”This time, the Nine Soul Underground Palace will no longer admit members of the Human Race.”

Everyone present felt their minds go blank as they absorbed this statement.

What was going on?

The Nine Soul Underground Palace had existed on the Cangnan Continent for hundreds of thousands of years. Previously, it had always been open only to the Human Race, with other races being prohibited from entry. Why would such an exception occur this time?

”This time, our Human Race has no hope...”

”It’s too tragic! Is the Demon Clan going to rule from now on?”

”Let’s all go back. Our trip this time was in vain...”

A look of intense despair appeared on everyone’s faces. Some were even unable to accept this reality, stomping their feet and pounding their chests in sorrow. This was especially true for those cultivators who had traveled from distant places; their Sects had expended massive resources to deliver them here via Void Throw.

But unexpectedly... the Nine Soul Underground Palace had played a cruel joke on the entire Human Race.

The Human Race could no longer enter.

Many cultivators were unconvinced and cursed at the Nine Soul Underground Palace.

SWISH!

A burst of sharp light fell from the illusory palace of the Nine Soul Underground Palace. In the blink of an eye, those cultivators were blasted into a mist of blood.

Everyone fell silent. No one dared to curse the Nine Soul Underground Palace anymore.

Jun Moxiao also sighed. He had come here happily, hoping for some training, but a sudden change had occurred: this time, the Nine Soul Underground Palace was not welcoming the Human Race.

”Sigh...” Jun Moxiao, dispirited, flew back.

People began to leave one after another. Before long, the area before the gates of the Nine Soul Underground Palace was deserted.

News of the change at the Nine Soul Underground Palace spread throughout the entire Cangnan Continent via various channels.

「The Demon Clan was abuzz.」

Countless members of the Demon Clan, upon hearing the news, began to move, rushing towards the Nine Soul Underground Palace. Some Devilish Practitioners and Ghost Cultivators were also extremely excited upon hearing the news. Rubbing their hands in eagerness, they rushed towards the Nine Soul Underground Palace at top speed.

As Jun Moxiao was on his way back, he was suddenly swallowed by a powerful Spatial Power, and the next moment he appeared in the carriage.

”Old Ancestor, the Nine Soul Underground Palace isn’t letting the Human Race in...” Jun Moxiao said despondently.

”If they don’t let you in, just go back and focus on your Cultivation. It’s not a big deal.” Ye Yun smiled and sent Jun Moxiao away.

He looked towards the direction of the Nine Soul Underground Palace again, his eyes flickering a few times. This sudden change at the Nine Soul Underground Palace had caught him off guard. After all, it had followed the rules for hundreds of thousands of years. Unexpectedly, this time, the rules had changed.

Could it be that because Human cultivators have been favored before, the master of the Nine Soul Underground Palace wants to favor the Demon Clan and other races this time? Ye Yun pondered and felt it was quite understandable. The Demon Clan was also very powerful on the Cangnan Continent, yet they hadn’t enjoyed such a wide variety of resources. Therefore, it was understandable that the Nine Soul Underground Palace would favor the Demon Clan and other races this time.

He was quiet for a few seconds. Still, Ye Yun wanted to visit the Nine Soul Underground Palace to satisfy his inner yearning.

He looked outside the carriage at the Big Black Horse and Big Black Cat.

The Big Black Horse already possessed an Eternal Realm cultivation base, so it wouldn’t be quite appropriate for it to enter. If there were dangers inside, it might even perish. How about letting Big Black Cat go? Thinking this, Ye Yun went out.

He looked at the Big Black Cat and told it his thoughts.

What? Going for training? The Big Black Cat was instantly shocked. The Master was actually sending it to the Nine Soul Underground Palace for training, to find the Eternal Life Immortal Grass! Moreover, after finding the Eternal Life Immortal Grass, it could consume it on the spot and wouldn’t need to hand it over! This was simply an enormous stroke of good fortune!

”Thank you for your kindness, Master!” The Big Black Cat was extremely excited and immediately prostrated itself on the ground, kowtowing to Ye Yun.

The Big Black Horse turned its head, its lips twitching, and said grumpily, ”Little Cat, if you find the Eternal Life Immortal Grass in there, don’t forget to bring one for your Uncle Ma!”
