Chaotic Sword God

Discussions filled the Observance Heaven City. Many immortals conversed about this matter enthusiastically.

The courts of heaven had personally taken action against peak organisations of the Immortals’ World. It was a shocking matter. In particular, it received even more attention because it was connected to the storm in the Skyscraping World and a sovereign god artifact.

But as of right now, apart from the Chaotic Star Heavenly Emperor, Xing Caijian, and a small number of people, no one else in the Immortals’ World knew that Jian Chen possessed far more than one sovereign god artifact. They all subconsciously assumed the recovery sovereign god also allowed him to bring several tens of thousand cultivators into the Skyscraping World.

As the news of the Skyscraping World spread, the owners of the medicinal gardens who learnt about this first and were sweeping the Immortals’ World for Jian Chen became nervous. The competition was getting even more intense.

“Whoever can obtain this recovery sovereign god artifact will obtain an undying body. This item is just too tempting. There will only be more and more experts who compete for it…”

“So what if even heavenly emperors are partaking in this? Before an opportunity that can almost change one’s fate, there are far too many people willing to give up everything, face the strongest opponent fearlessly, and sacrifice their lives for a chance at this…”

“As long as it’s tempting enough, some people are willing to push their boundaries with others that have the protection of Grand Exalts, let alone heavenly emperors…”

At this moment, various Immortal Exalts all sighed throughout the Immortals’ World. Some of them immediately shut off their senses and directed their attention back to cultivation, ignoring the conflict in the outside world. Some were unable to resist the temptation after a moment of hesitation and struggle, leaving their dwellings decisively.

They had already decided on competing for this sovereign god artifact. Even when their opponents were influential heavenly emperors, they were still willing to take the chance.

The path of cultivation was treacherous and difficult. An expert’s status was paved from the corpses of countless geniuses. For the sake of a grand opportunity that was virtually life-changing, many people had already cast aside all of their qualms. Even if they made the world their enemy, they would not care.

On this day, everyone in the Observance Heaven City, ranging from the city lord Jiang Pingtian to lower cultivators that had not even reached Immortal Monarch, sensed a chilling pressure. It made their breathing become abnormally difficult.

Jiang Pingtian immediately stood up from his throne in the city lord’s estate. He became extremely stern.

“A supreme expert has come to the Observance Heaven City. He’s using his presence to announce his arrival. He has neither interfered with the usual operation of the city, nor has he broken any of the rules. Looks like the Observance Heaven City will only become livelier in the near future,” Jiang Pingtian said in thought.

With a flash, the vice city lord dressed in fiery-red robes, the Master of Fire Virtue, appeared. He was also stern. “Fellow Jiang, do you know who they are?”

Jiang Pingtian replied calmly, “They’ve spread a wisp of their pressure across the entire city. Although it’s quite vague, it is also quite tremendous. It comes from all directions, making it impossible to lock onto the person, much less find out who they are.”

When he heard that, the Master of Fire Virtue was secretly surprised. Jiang Pingtian was the city lord of the Observance Heaven City. He possessed many special authorities here, yet even he was unable to lock onto this person. He realised that this person’s strength was probably beyond his imagination.

Jiang Pingtian continued, “However, I can roughly guess his intentions. He’s probably come for the Pavilion of Heavenly Secrets.”

At this moment, an old man in grey robes stood quietly outside the Pavilion of Heavenly Secrets. He seemed extremely ordinary like an old farmer. He was modest and simple in appearance. He did not stand out at all.

People bustled down the busy street, but they all treated him like he was invisible when they passed by. Even when they glanced past him, they saw nothing.

Virtually as soon as the old man arrived there, a spatial gate opened before him. The scenery inside was the miniature world where the Pavilion of Heavenly Secrets resided.

The old man did not hesitate. He stepped through the spatial gate and appeared before the pavilion master.

“Tian Jizi, I want to know Yang Yutian’s precise whereabouts. State your price!” The old man in grey robes faced the pavilion master. There was no hint of additional respect in his voice, only a sense of indifference towards an equal.

“Wicked Immortal Elder, do you also want to contend for the sovereign god artifact?” the pavilion master sat before him and said calmly.

“Three million years ago in that war against the experts of the Saints’ World, my disciple was heavily injured. It’s been extremely difficult for him to recover from his injuries. I’ve tried everything that I know, and it’s still been useless. The appearance of the recovery sovereign god artifact has allowed me to see an opportunity for my disciple’s recovery,” the Wicked Immortal Elder said.

“Wicked Immortal Elder, you better think things through. The sovereign god artifact isn’t that easy to obtain. The Soaring Immortal Heavenly Emperor from the Immortal Feather sect is also determined to obtain it.” The pavilion master sighed gently.

The Wicked Immortal Elder’s eyes were cold. “So what? Even if a heavenly emperor wants to stop me, I’ll give them a taste of what I’m capable of.”

The pavilion master glanced at the Wicked Immortal Elder deeply and said, “Please return. I can’t help you with this, as I am unable to divine anything with regards to him. You must be aware of this too.”

“You are the master of the Pavilion of Heavenly Secrets. You grasp the unfathomable Technique of Heavenly Secrets. You just might be able to find an inkling or two when it comes to things that I can’t divine,” the Wicked Immortal Elder said.

“I also can’t divine anything. Please return,” the pavilion master asked for him to leave.

“I will use a supreme secret technique created by a Grand Exalt. It should strengthen your Technique of Heavenly Secrets by thirty percent at the very least.” The Wicked Immortal Elder refused to give up.

“Even with the support of your secret technique, I still won’t be able to find anything, as this is not something that the Technique of Heavenly Secrets can peer into. It is not something that can be captured through secret techniques,” said the pavilion master.

“If you don’t try, how would you know the result?”

“There’s no need to try. Why waste the effort?” The pavilion master had already become a little displeased.

The Wicked Immortal Elder lost his temper. With a step, the miniature world where the entire Pavilion of Heavenly Secrets resided began to shake violently like it was experiencing an earthquake.

“Tian Jizi, is it really that difficult for you to use the Technique of Heavenly Secrets for me? Or are you saying that I don’t have the right for you to do it given my strength and status?” the Wicked Immortal Elder yelled angrily.

“Wicked Immortal Elder, this is the Observance Heaven City. You know the consequences of breaking the rules. You don’t need me to explain them to you,” the pavilion master said indifferently.

The Wicked Immortal Elder sucked in a deep breath and slowly calmed his anger. After a cold snort, he turned around and left the Pavilion of Heavenly Secrets.

Before long, the Wicked Immortal Elder arrived in a foreign space. Five shining stars appeared before him. Each star radiated with a dense presence of life.

As the Wicked Immortal Elder spread his fingers, the five stars exploded. Endless life force was condensed violently before entirely being absorbed by the very centre.

When the presence of life dissipated, a few remains were revealed in the centre of the stars.

This was a complete body, except it had been split into five parts, each sealed within the five stars.

“Wake up, my disciple. I’ve already found the opportunity to help you recover,” the Wicked Immortal Elder said rather sorrowfully.
