Chaotic Sword God

Afterwards, the seven souls all swore oaths of ways to never betray Jian Chen as he demanded.

Jian Chen had no better way to control the seven of them for the time being. After all, they were no regular folk. They were all late Grand Primes, possessing exceptional abilities. They could not be controlled through ordinary methods.

Even with them swearing oaths of ways, Jian Chen did not trust them completely. They were weakened right now, so perhaps they were bound by the oaths of ways. However, once they recovered their peak strength, Jian Chen was not certain whether they would have any methods to get around the restraints of the oath of ways.

However, this was all he could do right now.

“Sigh, fate sure toys with people. I didn’t think I’d be enslaved from the moment I woke up…”

“Who can help the fact that we ran into a freak? His soul actually has a strand of true Chaotic Force fused in, which directly renders my innate ability useless. Otherwise, this would have never happened…”

After swearing the oaths of ways, the seven experts were all like deflated balloons. They were dispirited and depressed.

As late Grand Primes, they naturally possessed a sense of pride. They looked down on mere Chaotic Primes.

However, no matter how prideful they were, they were forced to lower their lofty heads before the threat of death.

“Introduce yourselves. How do I refer to you? And what was your cultivation during your prime?” Jian Chen said to them in a great mood.

Afterwards, through a simple self-introduction by the seven experts, Jian Chen finally gained a clear understanding of their strength.

The winged woman who awakened first was called Su Le. In her peak, she was an Eighth Heavenly Layer Grand Prime.

The Origin Composition Daemon Exalt who used the Shared Fate technique on him was a Seventh Heavenly Layer Grand Prime in his peak condition.

The remaining five people were Bai Jinchi, a Seventh Heavenly Layer Grand Prime.

The Eternal Peace Daemon Exalt, an Eighth Heavenly Layer Grand Prime.

The Might Venerable, an Eighth Heavenly Layer Grand Prime.

The Red Phosphor Grand Prime, an Eighth Heavenly Layer Grand Prime.

The Unparalleled Emperor, an Eighth Heavenly Layer Grand Prime.

Among the seven souls, apart from the Origin Composition Daemon Exalt and Bai Jinchi, the other five were all at the Eighth Heavenly Layer!

Jian Chen also learnt from them that they all possessed extraordinary bloodlines. Every single one of them came from an impressive background, possessing the strength to face those stronger than them. The Seventh Heavenly Layer Grand Primes could face the Eighth Heavenly Layer, while the Eighth Heavenly Layer Grand Primes could face the Ninth Heavenly Layer.

It was exactly because their bloodlines were special that they had caught the attention of supreme experts of the Ancient Great Apes, falling into traps and being reduced to sacrifices for Gusta’s physical body.

“And I had thought that master would have to use quite a bit of effort to make them submit. I never thought they would submit so easily. Compared to the other expert, the seven of you are just spineless.” The voice of the twin swords rang out. With a flash of dazzling violet and azure, the two of them appeared before the seven experts.

When they heard the twin swords’ sneer, the seven experts’ faces were all ugly. Right when they were about to curse in anger, they sensed something, and they looked at the sword spirits in a shaken manner. Shock surged through their hearts.

“T-this is the artifact spirit of a sovereign god artifact?”

“How is this possible? What kind of luck does this kid have? To think that he even possesses treasure like this…”

“Even during our peak condition, we would never even dream of such fortunes. He’s only a Chaotic Prime, so how has he obtained something like this?”

The appearance of the sword spirits immediately shocked the seven experts. All of them turned green with greed.

“Hehehehe, you lot have finally awakened. You sure have made master wait.” An elderly voice rang out. The artifact spirit of the Primeval Divine Hall appeared, turning into the figure of a small old man that appeared before the seven souls.

“A-another sovereign god artifact…”

The expressions of the seven experts suddenly changed. Their faces were filled with disbelief.

If the appearance of the sword spirits had left them envious, then the Primeval artifact spirit’s appearance had left them all stunned.

But shortly afterwards, something even more shocking occurred. The Source of Life silently appeared, having gathered over out of curiosity.

They continued to suppress the Ancestor of the Clear and Cloudy with their powers, but they no longer needed to use their full strength.

The appearance of the three sovereign god artifacts left the seven experts dumbstruck. They were unable to return to their senses.

“They’re too weak. If you want them to recover, it’ll take quite a bit of resources. Jian Chen, your burden has increased yet again.” The Source of Life hovered there with its hands on its hips as it criticized Jian Chen.

“Master, how do you plan on handling these people?” the Primeval artifact spirit asked with shining eyes.

“Primeval, if I were to let them possess the generals, what would happen if they try to betray me? Don’t tell me they’ll be able to leave with the bodies of the generals?” After some thought, Jian Chen still ended up stating his doubt. He had actually decided how he would deal with the seven souls many years ago. However, this qualm had always existed. He was afraid that this decision would cost him everything.

There were many powerful generals in the Primeval Divine Hall. All they lacked were powerful souls. As long as he could find souls as substitutes, these generals could turn into a powerful source of assistance instantly.

The seven souls were without a doubt the best choice.

Just like that, it would save him the process of reconstructing their bodies and recovering their cultivations. He could use them to their greatest potential in the shortest time possible.

“You don’t have to worry about this at all, master. As long as their souls possess the bodies of the generals, they will never betray you. Unless they become Saints themselves, they cannot escape your control,” the Primeval artifact spirit said in guarantee.

Jian Chen stopped worrying after that. He had already understood that the Saint of Grand Clarity had left a safety measure with the generals. Unless they became Saints, they could not escape from this restraint.

He immediately eased up as if he had found some peace of mind.

It was not that he did not believe in the oath of ways. The seven souls were far too powerful in their former lives. He did not know how powerful the restraint from the oath of ways would be on them, nor did he know if they had any methods to avoid the punishment from the oath of ways. If they decided to turn against him once they had grown in power, the consequences would be immeasurable.

The seven souls could not hear the conversation between Jian Chen and the Primeval artifact spirit. After all, this was inside his sea of consciousness. He did not need to use words to communicate.

Apart from Su Le who had awakened first, the seven other souls fell back into slumber very quickly. They had not recovered yet. They had been forcefully awakened by Su Le, so they could not stay awake for too long. Now, they had reverted back to their previous state.

If Jian Chen were willing, it was completely possible for him to prematurely awaken the six other souls at the cost of some resources, but he was in no hurry to do so. The generals had yet to be unsealed from the Primeval Divine Hall. He did not need these souls just yet.

“H-how exactly did you tame three sovereign god artifacts?” Shock lingered in Su Le’s eyes. She stared at Jian Chen in disbelief.

“That’s none of your business. You left behind the Laws of Strength among the seven golden cores of laws, right?” Jian Chen asked.

Su Le nodded.

Jian Chen smiled faintly. “I have already reached Infinite Prime with the Laws of Strength. If I have an Eighth Heavenly Layer Grand Prime personally guiding me, I’ll definitely make rapid progress. Su Le, from today onwards, you will guide me with my cultivation of the Laws of Strength. Do you have any objections?”

Having sworn an oath of ways already, Su Le obviously did not have the courage to raise any objections. “I’m extremely weak right now. I can only pass on some of my experiences and knowledge verbally. If you find a way for me to recover, I can directly manifest the mysteries of the ways for you and personally pass the ways onto you. I can even teach you some of the powerful secret techniques I know without holding back.”

“Powerful secret techniques? You mean the ones you initially left in your golden cores of laws?” Jian Chen said mysteriously.

“You can’t blame us. You were so weak back then after all. The golden cores of laws we left were at most enough for you to reach Infinite Prime. As a result, the secret techniques were all made to suit your strength. Under those circumstances, even if we gave you overly profound secret techniques, you’d struggle to grasp them with your strength,” said Su Le.
