Chaotic Sword God

Vice pavilion master Liao Chen nodded deep in thought. Shortly afterwards, he recalled something. He became worried. “When I communicate with the ways during cultivation in recent years, I regularly sense a tremendous danger in a distant place. This sense of danger can truly be described as world-ending, enough to upheave the entire legacy and heritage of our Immortals’ World.”

“Although our Immortals’ World already possesses the Dominion’s Brush and the Book of the Populace, I still have a feeling that these two items are unable to contend against the apocalypse that might occur in the future.”

“If we can’t stop the apocalypse, then even with our Pavilion of Heavenly Secrets rooted in the Observance Heaven City, we won’t be able to avoid destruction.”

“And the only way to contend against this apocalypse that I can think of is the Hole of Reincarnation…”

When he mentioned the Hole of Reincarnation, a strange light appeared in Liao Chen’s eyes. There was a great desire to know more, as well as an entrustment of hope.

The pavilion master sighed gently and said, “The danger you sense comes from the Saints’ World. The Grand Exalt of Ancient Paths from the Saints’ World is forging an ultimate god artifact of extremely startling power. It’s said that once this god artifact is forged, it can completely alter the fate of a major world. It can make that world invincible.”

“However, our Immortals’ World is currently weaker than them in comparison. Even with the Grand Exalt birthed by the Waymight clan, we still can’t make up for our difference with the Saints’ World. As for the ultimate god artifact, there’s nothing that we can do for the time being.”

“If a second person were to emerge from the Hole of Reincarnation, then perhaps we can change this disadvantageous circumstance,” Liao Chen said softly.

The pavilion master said powerlessly, “Daowei Chengqing said the Hole of Reincarnation can only be entered once. If he were to enter a second time, he would not be able to emerge again like everyone else. Otherwise, we could get him to enter a second time and see if he could bring out anything mysterious.”

“I just wonder if Daowei Chengqing is telling the truth or not. It’s just a pity that we can’t peer into anything regarding him. Otherwise, we’d be able to tell whether he’s telling the truth or not,” said Liao Chen.

“So what if he was lying? The Waymight clan has already risen up and become a clan with a sovereign. In the current Immortals’ World, who can still force them to do something against their will?” The pavilion master paused. His gaze deepened as he said, “However, there is something that is true. Ever since Daowei Chengqing was reborn, he did not enter the Hole of Reincarnation a second time. He did not even approach the place. Perhaps he is telling the truth, that it can only be entered once.”

“As for Jian Chen…” When he mentioned Jian Chen, the pavilion master could not help but pause. Mixed emotions filled his eyes. In the end, he let out a gentle sigh and said, “Regardless of what kind of special attraction the Hole of Reincarnation has become to him, he cannot be allowed to set foot inside.”

“He is the inheritor of the twin swords. He also bears the hope of the revival of the Sword Sect of Violet Heavens. His duties and responsibilities should be focused on the Sword Sect of Violet Heavens. He should not be concerning himself with this future disaster.”

“After all, he’s just an Immortal Emperor right now. He is even being hunted down by numerous Immortal Exalts in the Immortals’ World. There are some burdens that are not for him to bear…”

“The Immortals’ World has already let down the Sword Sect of Violet Heavens. Now that the Sword Sect of Violet Heavens has finally produced a promising seedling with hopes of rising back up again, how can we forfeit this seedling to the Hole of Reincarnation…”

In the inn, Jian Chen stood by the window and gazed at the streets outside in deep thought. He continued to think about the influence on his emotions from the presence from the Hole of Reincarnation. It seemed like he would struggle to find peace unless he got to the bottom of this.

But in the end, no matter how he racked his brains, no matter how he divined, he found nothing at all.

This had to do with the Hole of Reincarnation after all, a mysterious place that even Grand Exalts did not understand. Unless he entered it, he would struggle to gain more information.

In the blink of an eye, another half a month had passed. During this time, Jian Chen discovered that the events of the Skyscraping World had spread further and further. Even though he had not gained a fine grasp over the situation outside, the people aware of these events were not limited to important disciples from major organisations in the Observance Heaven City at least. Some mid-range organisations knew as well. As a matter of fact, even some of the clansmen of lesser importance in these organisations had heard about it.

A forceful attempt at containment would definitely lead to an eruption in retaliation. Now, the events of the Skyscraping World were in the process of erupting. Even with both the Heavenly Star Palace and the Immortal Feather sect working together to contain the news, it would not prevail in the long run.

Whether it was a sovereign god artifact that could heal injuries indefinitely, the clash between the two heavenly emperors of the Immortal Feather sect and the Heavenly Star Palace outside the Skyscraping World, or even the Heavenly Emperor of Sword Radiance from the Immortal Sect of Myriad Swords personally appearing, they were all pieces of news that could shake up the entire Immortals’ World once they made it out, let alone the fact that they had all occurred together.

The influence of that was obviously beyond imagination.

“Four heavenly emperors personally showed up, and it even led to a conflict between the Chaotic Star Heavenly Emperor and the Soaring Immortal Heavenly Emperor. Who would have thought that the instigator was once a Thousand Immortal General of our Observance Heaven City…”

“Yeah, who would have thought that an Immortal Emperor could actually stir up such a great mess…”

“I heard that the Chaotic Star Heavenly Emperor went to great lengths to protect Chang Yang, far more than he would ever do for a regular descendant. Coupled with Chang Yang’s mysterious identity and background, there are even people in the Immortals’ World who suspect Chang Yang to be the Chaotic Star Heavenly Emperor’s illegitimate son…”

“In my opinion, the reason why the Chaotic Star Heavenly Emperor would protect Chang Yang is probably for the sovereign god artifact on him as well…”

......

…

Now, Jian Chen could hear rumours like that in the Observance Heaven City alone. Everyone participated in this discussion. There were rumours as exaggerated as they came.

“Fortunately, I had dealt with the Master of Profound Secrets beforehand. If the Master of Profound Secrets heard about this, killing him won’t be so easy once he raises his guard,” Jian Chen thought. At this moment, he felt a hint of understanding appear in his head. Before he knew it, his Hundred Superimposition Sword had grown once again, successfully reaching the eighth layer.

Eight superimpositions were eight fold in power. He could clearly sense that his battle prowess was increasing.

“The Skyscraping Sword Venerable went through many years of arduous comprehension to only grasp nine layers in the end, yet I’ve grasped eight in such a short amount of time. Moreover, after grasping the eighth layer, the Hundred Superimposition Sword is progressing towards the ninth layer. I’ll grasp the ninth layer before long. If senior Skyscraping Sword Venerable learned about this, I wonder how he would feel.” Jian Chen sighed inside. He had already set aside the matter of the Hole of Reincarnation temporarily, as he was forced to accept a cruel and powerless reality. Any questions regarding the Hole of Reincarnation were currently beyond his reach to answer.

“Big news! It’s only just come out. A supreme ancestor of the Immortal Feather sect personally paid a visit to the Cloud Extent Heaven and obliterated the body of an Immortal Exalt from an organisation there. Over a dozen Immortal Emperor great elders have been heavily injured…”

“It’s not just the Cloud Extent Heaven. Something big has happened on the Venerated Aptitude Heaven as well. The Heavenly Star Palace of the twelve courts of heaven sent an Immortal Exalt ancestor to the Venerated Aptitude Heaven, arranging a peak formation of extraordinary power and trapping a peak organisation on the Venerated Aptitude Heaven. It’s said that they’ll keep the sect trapped inside for a hundred thousand years…”

“I heard they disclosed the events of the Skyscraping World against the strict personal orders of the two heavenly emperors…”

“Courts of heaven cannot be disobeyed. These two suppressed organisations disobeyed the will of the Heavenly Star Palace and the Immortal Feather sect, which was why they faced retribution…”
