Chaos Devourer System: My Classless Ascension

Chapter 403: Chapter 401:“Finally... it’s time.”

Aeternum.

Aeternum Spire.

Within the dark hall belonging to the dean of the academy, two starry eyes opened in the sky of the room.

”So, even those entities from the demon realm are descending?” The dean’s voice was hard as he felt the trembling of the central continent from the mere release of the presence arriving.

”And there’s still that man...” his voice held a note of fear as he made mention of ”that man.” ”Valen, oh Valen, I hope you know what it is you’re doing, for if you do not, then we might just lose everything.” The old man muttered to himself, senses spread over the continent as the happenings at the central battlefield made themselves clear, his attention locking onto the still stationary figure of Dante. A sudden feeling of dread washed over him the moment he saw Dante’s appearance, before he was forced to shift his gaze.

”Let what will be, be. If I must get involved, then I shall. No longer will Terra bow her head to the whims of outsiders.” Steeling his heart, the dean closed his eyes, yet his attention remained locked onto the ongoing events.

....

DUUUUUMMMMMM!!!!!

The entirety of the central continent began trembling the moment the presences made themselves known.

A sense of suffocation immediately overcame everyone on the scene.

”Kuh...” Cara, unable to handle the pressure, was almost choking before, ”Huh?” A calming aura covered her.

Not just her. Kaila. Khalifa. Mira. Malachi. Paku. Salazar. Even Tian, Dakota, and Valen. These three powerhouses weren’t exempt from the aura’s coverage.

”Hmm?” Dakota turned, feeling the familiarity of the aura.

Not just her. Each and every one of them did. And there, still standing still, eyes still locked onto the transformation happening overhead, was Dante.

He hadn’t turned. He hadn’t flinched. He hadn’t even acknowledged the pressure. Yet they could feel it clearly. That aura of protection and safety, it was coming from him.

”Heh... even half awake, huh?” Cara shook her head with a fond smile as she finally retreated.

She had no idea what was going on with Dante. None of them did. But they knew he wasn’t fully himself. They were worried about it, but his actions just now let them breathe easily.

He was still Dante. Their lover, their brother, their godson, and their nephew.

So, letting out their held breaths, they retreated.

Their contributions to the battle this time had, unfortunately, come to an end.

.....

Within the cyclone of crimson demonic energy, a horrendous transformation was taking place.

The bodies of Lucifer, Azroth, and Belphegor slowly broke apart.

The only thing left was their demonic cores, but even those...

CRACK!

Split cleanly into two parts.

They floated there within the demonic energy as the presence got heavier and heavier, and then...

FWOOOOSHHHHH!!!

FWOOOOSHHHHH!!!

FWOOOOSHHHHHH!!!

The split cores began sucking in the torrent of demonic energy like greedy whales.

The more they took in, the heavier the pressure became.

BANG! BANG! BANG!

That was the sound of the coalition forces bursting into blood mist as the pressure became too hard for them to handle.

Yet even that was denied them, as the moment they burst apart, they were swiftly devoured by the greedy black miasma emanating from Dante’s body. Even now, the devouring process hadn’t stopped. He was still taking.

”HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!!! INTERESTING! VERY INTERESTING!!!”

Boisterous laughter echoed through the region from within the torrent of demonic energy.

”Hmm... to think we would encounter such an anomalous being on this middling world. It would seem the secrets of this planet are indeed numerous.” Another voice sounded out from within the demonic torrent. This one calm, analytical.

”He is but a mortal fledgling. I am merely interested in his method of devouring. He poses no threat.” A dismissive and arrogant voice quipped right back.

The voices conversed casually, uncaring for whatever the world thought.

Slowly, the torrent of demonic energy bursting forth from the earth slowed until it stopped completely.

Another wave of uncomfortable silence fell upon the region as the only survivors left, Dante’s friends, watched in curiosity at what was happening.

Fear?

Their eyes subconsciously landed on the man that still looked absolutely motionless in the middle of the carnage.

Yeah. That notion never even crossed their minds. Never mind Valen and the others, the rest all knew that with that monster on their side, it didn’t matter what was coming, their fate was already sealed.

So, they waited in curiosity, and soon enough...

BANG!!!

The cocoon of corrupted energy was blasted apart as the beings within made themselves known.

”HAHAHAHAHAHAHA!!! FINALLY! FREEDOM!”

The demon in the middle laughed out loud.

He was large. At least ten feet tall. With charcoal-black skin. Six massive goat horns made the shape of a crown on his head. A pair of tattered wings spread behind him as demonic energy ripped through his body.

”Asaemon, get hold of yourself. The planet’s suppression gets harder, and the guardian may decide to stop being idle.” Another demon standing to the left of the massive one spoke up.

With gold skin. Gold hair. Gold teeth. Gold eyes. Gold monocle. There was no doubt the demon loved the concept of gold. Hell, even his wings, horns, and tail were all gold. He was a literal demon of gold. So much so that his own demonic energy was tainted with flecks of gold.

”Guardian? Humph! I wish to see which fool dares to hurry this lord.” The demon at the head spoke out in pure arrogance and disdain.

This one looked too human. With pitch-black hair, at a height of barely 7 feet, his bare feet wearing a pair of sandals, a golden robe adorned his body as he held his hands behind him.

Six majestic horns formed the shape of a crown on his head as he looked down with pure contempt.

He was undoubtedly domineering, but the most overbearing thing about him had to be his aura.

It was one that demanded absolute obedience without even screaming it.

It felt like all pride was stripped bare from anyone within his presence.

”Mortal. Your foolish tantrum ends now, you shall be coming with us.” The demon addressed Dante like a king would a servant.

Yet...

Nothing.

Dante hadn’t bothered to reply.

The demons waited. For anything. Any movement. Yet...

Nothing.

”Hmm... it would seem he has been frozen in fear.” The gold-skinned demon reasoned.

”I have no time for petty squabbles.” The lead demon released his arms, his aura pressing down upon the world as he got ready.

”Mortal, you shall come with us no—”

The demon was never allowed to finish his words as,

”Devour...”

Dante beat him to it.

One word. That was all he said before he finally took his gaze away and began moving once more.

The demons stood frozen for a moment before...

”AUDACIOUS!!!!” The lead demon exploded, the utter disregard angering him. ”MORTAL!!! YOU DA—”

He had barely gotten the words out when a pitch-black miasma had already begun covering him.

”Wh... what is this???” The demon sounded confused.

”This...” The gold-skinned demon was flabbergasted.

”HAHAHAHAHAHAHAH!!! WONDERFUL!! TRULY HORRIBLE!! NO WONDER LITTLE AZROTH DIDN’T DARE FACE THAT!” The middle demon erupted into uproarious laughter as he was also slowly being covered by the miasma.

”LITTLE MORTAL!! THIS IS NOTHING BUT AN AVATAR OF MINE!! I SHALL AWAIT YOU IN THE DEMON REALM!! DO NOT MAKE ME WAIT FOREVER!! IF I AM TO LOSE MY LIFE, THEN I SHALL ONLY OFFER IT TO YOU!! HAHAHAHAHAHAH!!!!” The demon laughed as finally,

WAP!

They were all devoured cleanly.

All that noise. All that posturing. And all it took was a single word from Dante, and they were done.

Valen, Dakota, Tian, and the others couldn’t believe their eyes.

Those beings with auras so suffocating had been vanquished by mere words.

”He... he...” Tian tried to speak, but the words failed him, so he kept quiet and just... watched.

They were waiting for Dante to finally get Melissa, but it would seem fate was hell-bent on interfering as...

Step. Step. Step.

Soft footsteps slowly approached from the distance.

The group looked over, and they all paled instantly at the sight.

”No...”

”He didn’t...”

”That fool...”

Dread colored their faces as they turned mechanically toward Dante. He had stopped moving.

”What has he done?”

.....

”To think even after all these preparations, you would still run through everything like they were nothing.” A confident and masculine voice echoed through the sudden silence as a man appeared.

”I must say, I now understand why this bitch was so confident earlier.” The youth raised his hand, and there, held by her neck, was Melissa, her expression strained and pained. ”If I didn’t have enough backup, I would’ve honestly packed up and fled this planet.” The youth chuckled.

”Uncle Seroth, do you still think I’m being dramatic for asking you to come?” The young man looked away from Dante as he looked up.

HUUUMMMM!!!

There. A man had appeared like he had always been there. And the moment he did, everything froze, his mere presence putting everyone in their place.

”I admit it, dear nephew, I am truly surprised. This little boy here has truly piqued my interest.” The man answered, uncaring for the trembling figure of Dante.

”So, what do you think? You believe you can tame him?” The young man smiled.

”Have you forgotten who I am?” The man called Seroth laughed. ”Hey, young man, I have a proposal.”

Silence.

”How about you become my personal disciple and I’ll have my nephew release your girlfriend.”

Silence.

Dante didn’t speak. He couldn’t speak. His body had begun trembling, an unfathomable rage coursing through his being.

[Your bloodline is reacting...]

”Why?”

He had just taken his eyes off her for a few moments.

”Why?”

He had merely needed to get rid of the insects. He had only wanted to get his Mel back, so,

”Why?”

Why was everyone trying to stop him?

”Why?”

Why was everyone throwing their lives away, trying to agitate him so?

”Why?”

Did they enjoy being killed? Being sent to oblivion? Did they like the monster they were awakening? If not, then,

”Why?”

He raised his head, and then...

”Hey... D.” He heard her. That voice. Still soft. Still loving.

”You can let it go.”

...

”You can be free.”

...

”You don’t have to hold it all in.”

...

”It doesn’t matter what the world sees you as. A devil. A monster. An unfathomable evil.”

...

”In my eyes... in OUR eyes, you’ll always be D.”

...

His senses spread out unconsciously.

Cara. Kaila. Khalifa. Mira. Dakota. Malachi. Paku. Leo. Valen. Tian.

They all had worrying expressions. They cared. Not for the monster. For the man.

”See? So fear not, D. Your rage isn’t an enemy.”

”They dared touch what they should not.” At this point, both the young man, A’kenai, and the man Seroth began feeling something wrong.

”Bitch... shut...”

”Let it... Kuh...” Her words choked, but she still forced them out...

”Let...

... it

go.”

SNAP!

There was an audible snap that echoed through the souls of everyone there.

The young man’s face paled immediately as he yelled out...

”UNCLE!!!” Yet before the man could make any moves...

KARANGGGGG!!!! The sound of chains snapping apart sounded throughout all of Terra.

Every single soul on the planet heard it.

Not with their ears. No. With their very souls. And they could tell, something... something very wrong had occurred.

...

Within the deepest reaches of Dante’s soul...

A white-haired young man sitting in a cross-legged position slowly opened his eyes.

The gold had vanished. All there was left was an all-devouring black, and then...

”Finally... it’s time.”

*******

A/N: indeed, finally, it’s time. Let’s do this...

As always....
