Chaos Devourer System: My Classless Ascension

Chapter 378: Chapter 376:

My eyes settled on the notifications that had appeared before me as I shoved aside the encounter with that being.

I wasn’t ready to start guessing who it was, because I already somewhat knew. It was obvious, wasn’t it? Not like he ever tried to hide it.

But now wasn’t the time to get into an existential crisis, so...

”Bring on the goodies.” I put my mind somewhere better needed.

Pause.

”What the fuck?”

I had to stop right here.

”How the fuck does a remnant soul have this much energy?” I was shook.

No. You need to understand. This wasn’t mana or any normal type of energy. It was ChaosEnergy, a hundred times the quality and quantity of any other form of energy.

And this remnant soul just gave me enough raw mana or soul energy, or whatever it was on, to provide this much CE?

”Damn...” Maybe I had underestimated this guy a bit too much due to the overwhelming ease with which he was dealt with.

”Alright then... on to the next.”

I willed the notifications on, and then...

>

...>>

bloodline, [MYTHIC]...>>

You can’t blame me for stopping cold once more.

”Another one...” This would make it my second Mythic-grade acquisition after Zero-Distance Strike.

I know. Darius must’ve had some Mythic-grade talent or bloodline too, but I had thoroughly erased that one already, so there wasn’t any use crying over spilt milk.

”Alright, next.” Now wasn’t the time to check them out. I would do that properly after I was done taking my gains.

Physique, [SUPREME] physique...>>

Well, no surprises there. I was already expecting something like this anyway.

”Next.”

[DING!!]

[You have gained insight into the [COSMIC] concept ...]

[COSMIC]...

...

I stayed motionless for a few moments, waiting to see if there were any other notifications coming, but fortunately or not, there weren’t.

So, I turned my focus toward the things I’d just received.

”Heh... it feels like forever since I did some unpacking.” I couldn’t help chuckling at the giddy feeling. I hadn’t felt this excited to check anything in quite some time.

”Now, then, system, lay it on me.”

[DING]

[MYTHIC]:-

An ancient vampiric bloodline that allows its bearer to consume the essence contained within the blood of other beings.

:-

By consuming the blood of another being, the bearer can devour a portion of their essence, allowing them to acquire one ability, trait, skill, or bloodline characteristic belonging to the victim. The acquired power is assimilated into the bearer and becomes a permanent part of their arsenal. The stronger and purer the victim’s blood, the greater the quality of the power that can be obtained.

:-

Powers acquired through are perfectly assimilated into the bearer’s existence, allowing them to use them as naturally as their own abilities. The bearer may possess numerous acquired powers without suffering incompatibility or rejection.

:-

The bearer can extract acquired powers from their own blood and bestow them upon another being. The recipient gains the granted ability, trait, skill, or bloodline characteristic without needing to possess the original source.

:-

By consuming blood, the bearer can rapidly restore their body, energy, soul, and vitality. The greater the quality of the consumed blood, the greater the restoration. Blood belonging to powerful beings can even repair otherwise catastrophic damage.

:-

The bearer can consume the blood of living beings directly from their bodies, allowing to function without requiring the victim’s death. The blood of beings who willingly offer themselves provides a greater degree of assimilation, while forcibly consumed blood yields greater resistance from the victim’s essence.

:-

The blood of lesser vampiric beings instinctively recognizes the bearer as its superior. The bearer can exert dominion over blood-based abilities, vampiric traits, and bloodline-derived powers belonging to beings beneath their level of existence.

:-

Every power acquired through the bloodline becomes part of the host’s accumulated legacy. Even if the original owner dies, the acquired power remains within the bearer.

...

Reading through the list of abilities that came with this single bloodline, I could finally understand why this man was a headache all those years ago.

With things like Blood Devourer, Blood Assimilation, and Blood Bestowal, I could understand why he was arrogant enough to call himself the Great Dev—

Before I could complete the thought—

>

”What?”

My talent activated by itself, and before I knew it...

is being assimilated...>>

Was my talent actually having a hissy fit right now?

>

successfully assimilated.>>

I waited.

And waited.

And waited some more, but still...

”Nothing?” I couldn’t believe it. My talent just devoured my acquired bloodline and refused to give me anything.

”But wait...” Since when could I devour my own bloodline? Was it something new, or...

”Could I already do it and hadn’t even bothered trying?”

It was possible. I knew I was using this talent in a horrible manner. Look what that pathetic vampire had done with a less-than-substandard version of a devouring skill, and yet I still don’t even know how to use mine properly.

”Hoo... alright. Another thing added to the list of things to try out.” I made a mental note of it.

If it hadn’t been for Devour throwing a hissy fit, I wouldn’t have even known that I could Devour my own bloodlines. And if I could do so, did that mean I can combine them actively through devouring? Or was that something still far off?

”Well, no use thinking about it now. Let’s just get this over with.”

I shoved the thought aside for now, willing the next notification active.

What? Devour had snacked on the offensive Mythic-grade bloodline; I could only move on with it.

[DING]

[SUPREME]:-

A supreme vampiric physique that grants immense physical vitality and control over blood.

: The user’s body rapidly regenerates by consuming blood, restoring flesh, vitality, and energy.

: Grants exceptional physical resilience, heightened senses, and an ageless body.

: Allows the user to freely manipulate their own blood, shaping it into weapons, restraints, or defensive constructs.

: Exerts natural suppression over lesser vampires, forcing them to instinctively recognize the user’s superior bloodline.

...

”Yeah... not much to go over there.” My excitement had already died down since the moment Devour decided to snack on my precious bloodline.

So, now seeing the physique’s details, though impressive, they weren’t that moving in my sight. I already had the perfect physique with both and in the mix, so the last thing that would excite me would be a physique.

So, I just gave the description a once-over before moving on to the next thing, and this one might be more interesting than I expected, because it was...
