Chaos Devourer System: My Classless Ascension

Chapter 377: Chapter 375:““Devour””

”Where... where am I?” I appeared before the distraught and confused translucent figure from before.

”Haa... just my luck. I finally meet the so-called Great Devourer, and turns out he’s a dumb fuck that likes causing me problems.” I sighed, leveling a dead look at the confused man.

”You? Intriguing...” The man finally noticed me, his expression turning pensive. ”To think you can still retain some consciousness even after my soul had successfully invaded your subconscious.” He looked at me the same way Salazar looked at anything new, with curious eyes. ”Who are you?” he asked.

”You know, for someone about to get erased completely, you’re awfully calm.” Now it was my turn to be curious. ”Could this be what they call blissful ignorance?”

”Hmm? Little one, what are you talking about?”

”First of all, don’t call me little one, you poser. And secondly, I’m talking about the fact that your last wisp of a soul is about to get destroyed, but you’re acting so casual.”

”Destroyed?” He was stunned for a moment, before...

”Pfft... Hahahahahahahahahahaha!!!!” He burst out laughing.

I just watched.

”Hahaha... good one, child. I haven’t laughed like that in ages.”

”Oh yeah? And what was so funny?”

”You, little one. You’re funny.”

”Funny how? Decrepit old fuck, in what way am I funny?”

”You just said my soul fragment was about to be destroyed. If that’s not being funny, I don’t know what is,” he laughed.

”But you’re about to be killed indeed. I’m just being nice by letting you know beforehand.”

”Little child. Even that old guardian on Terra couldn’t kill me off completely. On what basis do you think you can? Is it because of the myriad laws you comprehended? The absurdity of your body? Or that part of your soul that seems inaccessible? Well, let me break it down for you, I am about to take over your body completely. All that you were, are, and will become, I shall be. So tell me, how am I about to die?”

It seemed this old fuck had gone truly senile after all these years of hibernation.

”And this is the fool you let take over your body.”

A deep and masculine voice suddenly shook the darkness around us. The soul fragment of Dracul froze in its place as its form started flickering wildly.

”Haaa... hey. I was taken by surprise, alright?” I replied as a pair of massive golden suns materialized in the skies above, illuminating the dark space.

”Excuses. That is all I hear. For such a pathetic soul to even gain access, you disappoint me.”

”Yeah, well, I don’t really give a fuck what you think anyways. You’re just some weird-ass apparition or something either way,” I shrugged.

”YOU DARE!!”

BANG!

My body exploded into a gory mist at the voice’s shout before being made whole once more.

”MOTHERFUCKER!!! You did it again! Fucking bastard!!”

”Ignorant fool!! You dare cuss at me?”

BANG!!

My body was reduced to bits once more as the voice’s rage boiled over. But...

”MOTHERFUCKER!!! That’s it!!” I would be damned if I just let this fucker get away with it this time.

Ignoring the shivering Great Devourer’s soul fragment, I let go.

BOOM!

The darkness around us trembled as my aura ran wild unabated. The essence of all the laws I comprehended bled out of me as they converged into a pitch-black aura that blazed like a flame around my figure.

I raised my head, eyes locked onto those in the sky.

”You fucking bastard. I dare you. Do that again.”

[Your comprehension of has deepened significantly...]

[Your comprehension of has deepened significantly...]

[Your comprehension of has deepened significantly...]

I pushed the notifications aside as I focused on the eyes in the sky.

”Hah! HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!!!!” The voice laughed. ”Little fool! You think because of your little attainments, you can stand before me? I AM THE SON OF CHA—”

”BULLSHIT!” I roared in agitation.

I couldn’t bear it. Not anymore. Something in me refused to allow him to complete those words, because...

”I... AM THE SON OF CHAOS!”

My voice suddenly took on a deeper, more magnetic tone.

”I... AM THE BEGINNING!”

A sudden silence fell upon the dark space as even the voice in the sky became quiet.

”I... AM THE END!”

I had unconsciously begun using the [UNIQUE LAW] without even knowing it as my aura got deeper, the entire space trembling at the mere release of it.

”I AM ALL THAT IS UNCHANGING....”

[Your comprehension of has deepened significantly...]

”Eras come. Eras go.”

”Eons will pass away.”

”Even time will have its end.”

”But only I SHALL REMAIN....”

”...ABSOLUTE.”

”So, once again, I dare you....”

”Do. That. Again.”

The silence got even heavier as the moment drew tighter, and just when I thought I was about to have what would probably be the biggest ass-whooping of my lifetime...

”Pfft... HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!!!” The voice laughed.

Not in that arrogant and condescending manner of his. No. This was more normal. More carefree. More... genuine.

”What? Why are you laughing, you bastard?” I growled.

”Yes! That’s right! That’s exactly who you are!” The voice declared between laughter, his words making me even more confused. ”Good! I guess this means we’re closer to becoming whole than I thought. Finally.”

”Oii... what the fuck are you talking about?”

He ignored me completely, his attention finally returning to the still-frozen Dracul.

”Now...” That condescending tone returned like it had never left the moment he began addressing the Great Devo... ”You will not have such a blasphemous thought in this space. Not again.”

His words shut down that thought instantly.

”There has only ever been one person worthy of that title, Devourer. And she passed it on to us. So, for a puny little inbred leech to dare declare himself as such, I am beyond insulted.”

I could feel the seething rage in the tone of his voice, so I kept quiet and watched. I already had an idea how this was going to end, and sure enough...

”For your blasphemous act, only one end is fitting for you...”

The moment the voice finished speaking, an overwhelming feeling came over me, and before I knew it, I was speaking in eerie resonance with the voice, as we declared firmly:

””DEVOUR...””

Before I could even take a proper look at what I’d received, the world went white, and then...

”Haaa!!!” I gasped awake.

”Haaa... well, that went better than I thought.” I shook my head, getting rid of the lingering headache as I finally focused my attention on the notifications flashing before my eyes...

....

Once Dante had been evicted from his soul space, the darkness receded rapidly as a world of unspeakable wonders appeared.

Seated cross-legged on a floating platform made from the pristine essence of destruction itself was the stationary figure of a white-haired young man with his chest bare.

”Fufufufu... he’s slowly becoming more of himself. This Abyss was good for him.” A pair of slender arms slowly wrapped around his body as a soothing voice came from behind him.

”Hmmm... it won’t be long now. I’ll soon be whole.”

At his words, the woman fell silent for a moment before speaking out once more. ”You know what that means, right? Are you sure you’re ready?” she asked, resting her head on his back.

Dante remained silent for a few seconds, mulling it over...

”It doesn’t matter, Shaia,” he replied, eyes opening slowly. ”Whether I am ready or not matters not. When that seal finally comes off, I shall become whole. And then, the true war shall begin. There shall be no more coddling. No more training wheels. It shall be time to take back my rightful place as the epitome of all that is, all that was, and all there ever will be. It shall be when I truly become... The Son Of Chaos.”

He closed his eyes once more, his breathing steadying as he returned to his state of meditation.

Shaia raised her head, glancing at the sky where she could see Dante’s figure going through his gains.

”Hurry up, my love, tehee. You’re getting impatient,” she laughed softly as she went back to hugging the meditating Dante, her eyes closing in peaceful silence.
