BTTH : Emperor Yang

”Complete Perfection of the Heaven Realm Soul... at this level, as far as I know, even inside the Small Pill Tower, aside from that mysterious Old Ancestor, it has already been more than a thousand years since anyone has reached it.”

”Yao Chen, you truly took in a good disciple. With such an achievement, he’s enough to make every younger generation in the Yao Clan, and even those old monsters, feel ashamed.”

Feng Zun Zhe looked toward the peak of the mountain and sighed softly.

Yao Lao smiled faintly, unable to hide the deep relief in his eyes. Ever since he broke into Dou Sheng back then and forcefully pushed his soul realm to the mid Heaven Realm stage, his soul realm had barely moved at all throughout the years.

This alone showed how difficult soul advancement was.

For Xiao Yan to reach this step so quickly was far beyond anything Yao Lao expected. Originally, Yao Lao thought the one most likely to achieve it was Wei Yang, but he hadn’t expected Xiao Yan to surpass him first.

Of course, if Wei Yang were willing to devour soul origins endlessly like Xiao Yan, it wouldn’t be hard for him either.

”Once this business with the Purifying Demonic Lotus Flame is done, it’s time for me to bring my two disciples to the Yao Clan.”

”For that clan, I no longer hold attachment, but I must carve my parents’ names openly and properly on the ancestral stele... It’s the promise I made to them when they passed away.”

Hands behind his back, Yao Lao gazed toward the distant west. A rare sadness flickered in his old eyes. His life had also been full of hardship.

Fortunately, the heavens weren’t cruel to him. When he was at his most desperate and broken, they gave him a sliver of hope. On that day, in that remote corner of the world, behind the Xiao Clan of Wu Tan City, he met two young, innocent children for the first time.

From that moment, the gears of fate began to shift.

”I wonder how long Xiao Yan will need this time... Judging from the timing, the Purifying Demonic Lotus Flame should be descending soon.”

”Also, from the intelligence I’ve received, the Hall of Souls is moving in the shadows. Considering they’ve kept silent about the destruction of the Human Hall, it’s obvious they’re gathering all their strength for the Demonic Flame,” Feng Zun Zhe said worriedly.

”Relax, he’ll wake up in time. Hall of Souls coveting the Purifying Demonic Lotus Flame isn’t surprising. Also, pass down my order: from now on, no one is allowed to step within a thousand meters around that mountain.” Yao Lao smiled, then turned and left.

Everyone soon dispersed.

Wei Yang turned, raised his hand, and tapped each of the three little ones on the head: ”Alright, stop staring. Go cultivate.”

”Oh.” The three little ones held their heads and obediently went back to training.

Qing Lin and Xian’er stood faraway watching them with smiles. They didn’t go over, avoiding giving the kids an excuse to run over and act spoiled.

After a short while, Wei Shuo’s black eyes spun, and she raised her hand: ”Daddy!”

Wei Yang shot her a sideways glance: ”What is it? Your cultivation time isn’t over yet. Don’t think of using excuses to slack off.”

”Daddy, just a tiny little break okay? I want to ask you something.” Wei Shuo twisted her little body and spoke sweetly.

”Say it.”

Wei Yang sat at the desk, picked up his tea cup, and responded with mild annoyance. He always fell for this move. Every time his daughter acted cute, she could easily bend her old man around her finger.

”Heehee.”

Wei Shuo hopped happily, pulling Xiao Xiao and her brother over. The three sat behind the table.

”Daddy, when you all go fight for the Purifying Demonic Lotus Flame... can you take us along to watch?” Wei Shuo asked carefully.

Hearing this, Wei Ye and Xiao Xiao’s eyes lit up as they stared expectantly at Wei Yang. They weren’t ignorant kids anymore.

For the third-ranked flame on the Heavenly Flame Ranking — a unique existence in the world, once used by the terrifying Purifying Lotus Saint — of course they were curious.

Unfortunately...

”No way! You think it’s a field trip? Bringing you along?” Wei Yang almost laughed in anger. He widened his eyes and scolded, ”There’s going to be a world-shaking battle! What would you even do there? Your courage is getting bigger by the day, sticking your noses into everything.”

The three little ones instantly dimmed.

”I knew it. Of course it wouldn’t work.” Xiao Xiao pouted, her little lips curling as she shot Wei Shuo an annoyed look.

Wei Shuo bit her lip, muttering softly, ”It’s all that hateful Hall of Souls’s fault... stupid Hall of Souls, rotten Hall of Souls. They’re the ones ruining everything. They just have to fight us for things. Because of them, we can’t even see the Purifying Demonic Lotus Flame appear.”

”The Purifying Demonic Lotus Flame doesn’t have an owner. Naturally anyone can fight for it. It’s not our family.”

Wei Yang let out a helpless breath, then his expression hardened: ”Drink your water and get back to cultivating. Stop thinking about all that nonsense. If you don’t focus, today’s cultivation time will double.”

”Ah no!” The three little ones jumped in fright. They didn’t even bother with the water anymore and hurried back to cultivate seriously.

Time passed day by day in this relaxed manner.

However, the soul fluctuations spreading from the top of the mountain didn’t fade. Instead, they grew stronger by the day. After one month, almost the entire Star Realm was enveloped by that invisible wave.

As a result, everyone in Falling Star Pavilion — aside from Wei Yang, Yao Lao, Zi Yan, and a handful of others — had no choice but to give up flying. Every day they carried that mountain-like soul pressure and could only walk on foot.

Even Feng Zun Zhe, Tian Huo Zun Zhe, Tie Jian Zun Zhe, and the other Dou Zun experts were no exception. All of them were forced to run on the ground with two legs, losing all the dignity normally associated with Dou Zun experts. The Dou Zong Elders were even worse off.

Wei Yang and the others were helpless about the situation. Even they could only passively resist that terrifying soul pressure. It was impossible to use their own soul power to shield everyone all day long.

Besides, this suppression acted as a rare form of training for the disciples of Falling Star Pavilion both for their souls and their wills.

After all, not everyone had the privilege of experiencing the soul pressure of someone at Complete Perfection of the Heaven Realm, especially such long and continuous pressure. Even for the three little ones, Wei Yang didn’t shield them.

He let them train under the same pressure as the other disciples. Thus, all the disciples of Falling Star Pavilion endured more than a full month of soul oppression.

Though the pressure made many extremely uncomfortable, once they gradually adapted, they suddenly discovered their soul strength had increased noticeably. This made many disciples pleasantly surprised.

Most of them weren’t alchemists, so they had very few ways to improve their soul power. Being able to strengthen it through this special training was naturally a huge blessing. A stronger soul brought many benefits, including boosting their overall cultivation progress.

Having tasted the sweetness, no one complained anymore. Some talented disciples — such as the young girl You Quan — even treated it as a rare opportunity.

Normally, they always tried to sneak out of the Star Realm, but now they instead moved step by step closer to the mountain where Xiao Yan was cultivating, seeking stronger pressure. Under this self-imposed oppression, the soul power of these gifted disciples improved at a rapid pace.

To experience Complete Perfection of the Heaven Realm level soul pressure... how many people in this world could enjoy such luxury?

Furthermore, Xiao Yan wasn’t completely unaware of the outside world while cultivating. After sensing this situation, he intentionally released a portion of pure soul origin, letting it drift gently within the Star Realm.

If a Falling Star Pavilion disciple happened to absorb it, it would be like receiving a heavenly-grade pill — a massive nourishment for the soul.
