BTTH : Emperor Yang

Father and daughter laughed and played in midair.

”Uncle Wei.”

”Father.”

Wei Ye also flew up while carrying Xiao Xiao.

A pair of faint golden flame wings unfurled behind Wei Ye, while little Xiao Xiao simply stepped across the air, running toward them as if the sky itself was solid ground.

”Hehe, alright.” Wei Yang chuckled warmly, lifting his arms to catch Wei Shuo.

”Uncle Wei, where’s my mother? Didn’t she come back with you?” Xiao Xiao widened her round black eyes, peeking behind Wei Yang, glancing left and right as if trying to find her mother’s figure. But behind him stood only Ah Da, with no sign of Medusa.

”Hehe, don’t look for her. Your mother is still in seclusion cultivating. Once she’s finished, she’ll come back right away to see her little Xiao Xiao.” Wei Yang rubbed the little girl’s head with a smile, comforting her gently.

He doted on this future daughter-in-law tremendously. He leaned down and picked her up as well, holding one child in each arm. As for his son Wei Ye, he could only stand off to the side, staring enviously. There simply wasn’t any space left in his father’s arms.

Wei Yang shot his son a loving look, then with a thought, spread out his spatial power, lifting the boy with an invisible force as the group slowly descended onto the grassy field below. There was a low table set there, along with several books.

Yao Lao was holding a book in his hands, smiling as he watched them arrive. Clearly, he had been tutoring the three little ones on their lessons earlier.

”Master.”

Wei Yang greeted him with a grin.

”You’re back.” Yao Lao nodded with a gentle smile, then glanced at the tall figure behind them. ”Ah Da has stepped into Ban Sheng now. Not bad.”

”It’s all thanks to Master’s guidance.” Ah Da quickly spoke with humility, bowed respectfully, and then turned to leave.

Wei Yang brought the three little ones to sit by the table, and just as he was about to set little Xiao Xiao down onto the jade mat, he suddenly let out a soft ”huh”. He stared at the girl in his arms with surprise.

He sensed that the originally vast and chaotic energy inside little Xiao Xiao’s body had now calmed down significantly. Not only that, it seemed to move in an orderly manner, shifting naturally in sync with her will.

”Little Xiao Xiao has exceptional talent. She’s now able to fully control that enormous energy inside her. At this moment, she can already be considered a genuine Dou Zong expert.” Yao Lao smiled as he stroked his beard.

”Xiao Xiao, you managed to get full control of these huge energies so quickly? Not bad, really impressive.” Wei Yang rubbed her head again, praising her with a soft laugh. He also couldn’t help but smile wryly in his heart.

Back then, he and Xiao Yan struggled endlessly to reach the Dou Zong stage, pouring in who knows how much effort and time. Yet Xiao Xiao here barely needed to do anything, and she had already reached that level with ease. She wasn’t even ten years old.

It was enough to make anyone sigh.

”And she’s quite interested in alchemy as well. I’m thinking that once she’s a bit older, I’ll teach her the Flame Mantra, and then find her a decent Heavenly Flame so she can slowly learn and refine it.” Yao Lao looked at Xiao Xiao with warm affection.

Wei Yang chuckled and nodded: ”If Xiao Xiao cultivates the Flame Mantra too, well, we can at least provide her with some ordinary Heavenly Flames. That part is not a problem.”

With their strength, Heavenly Flames within the top ten might be hard to obtain, but anything outside the top ten—they could collect a few if they really wanted.

With their protection, as long as the preparation was sufficient, Xiao Xiao’s safety during the devouring process of a lower-ranked Heavenly Flame could still be guaranteed. The Sea Heart Flame she was using now was personally refined for her by Yao Lao.

The only thing Yao Lao found a bit regretful was that among his three disciples, only Xiao Xiao had such strong talent and interest in alchemy. Wei Ye and Wei Shuo had not shown much aptitude or enthusiasm in that field.

Of course, this didn’t mean Wei Ye and Wei Shuo had inferior talent. In fact, it was the exact opposite—their talent was the most heaven-defying. After all, special physiques were no joke.

Don’t be fooled by Xiao Xiao being born at the Dou Zong level. In terms of innate advantage, she still couldn’t compare to Wei Ye and Wei Shuo. Xiao Xiao was born a Dou Zong due to her bloodline and the special method used by the Snake-People to cultivate Medusa’s children.

Wei Ye and Wei Shuo might appear weaker since they started from the bottom, but with their extraordinary physiques, their future speed and growth would not be slow at all. But honestly, discussing talent seemed meaningless for them.

Because once Wei Yang and Xiao Yan both ascended to Dou Di, these three little ones would automatically be blessed by bloodline fortune. Reaching Dou Sheng realm would be a matter of minutes.

”What’s Xiao Yan doing now?” Wei Yang asked while helping the three children with their studies.

”He’s in seclusion absorbing the origin souls,” Yao Lao replied. As he spoke, he lifted his book and tapped the head of the daydreaming Wei Shuo, giving her a stern glare.

Wei Shuo shrank her neck and immediately sat upright. However, her eyes kept darting around mischievously, clearly looking nothing like she was actually paying attention to her studies. Clearly, she was still thinking about the gift Wei Yang had mentioned earlier.

In contrast, Wei Ye and little Xiao Xiao were far more focused on their studies. Seeing this, Wei Yang felt both amused and helpless. He couldn’t bring himself to scold her, much less hit her. In front of Yao Lao, even if he really wanted to, he wouldn’t have the chance anyway.

This little girl, who knows who she takes after. Her temper is nothing like her mother Qing Lin’s; she had been mischievous and full of trouble since she was tiny.

”Master, you shouldn’t spoil her too much either. If she needs to be scolded, scold her, if she needs to be punished, punish her. Don’t let her temperament become too unruly.” Wei Yang said.

”I know what I’m doing. Shuo’er’s nature is just like that, simply a bit playful and energetic. That’s not really a bad thing. In truth, she’s kind at heart.” Yao Lao stroked his beard with a light smile.

Wei Yang shrugged, not adding anything more.

What Yao Lao could see clearly, how could he, as the father, not understand? With Qing Lin as her mother, even if Wei Shuo was a handful and mischievous, she inherited her mother’s gentle heart down to the bone.

”But you, after staying in that Lightning Pool for half a year, it seems your harvest was tremendous. Standing before you now, I can actually feel a great deal of pressure.” Yao Lao exclaimed.

Wei Yang’s aura might be perfectly concealed, making him look like an ordinary mortal, but how sharp was Yao Lao’s perception?

”It was indeed quite a rewarding experience.” Wei Yang smiled and briefly explained.

”Nine Mysterious Golden Lightning... you reached late-stage Five-Star already?” After listening, Yao Lao inhaled sharply.

Too fast!

Then, relief washed over him, full and warm.

”You’re not doing badly either, Master. You’re already at Three-Star now.” Wei Yang chuckled.

”Only early Three-Star, and that’s because I used Dou Sheng level Heavenly Phoenix blood and a drop of Half-Step Dou Di blood as resources.” Yao Lao sighed with a bitter smile, waving his hand. ”It’s all thanks to the two of you as my disciples.”

”Resources exist to be used. As long as they help, who cares what they are.” Wei Yang spoke, then turned his eyes toward the distance.

There—

Swish!

A purple figure swept in from afar, and with a few flickering steps, she arrived before Wei Yang.

”Wei Yang, you finally decided to come out of seclusion?” The newcomer was none other than Zi Yan.

She plopped down beside him, snatched up his teacup, tilted her head back, and gulped it down in one go. Then she wiped her mouth, set the cup down, leaned back with her hands propped behind her on the grass, long legs stretched out, bare feet swinging casually.

She jerked her chin at Wei Ye and gave him a commanding look: ”What are you spacing out for, brat? Hurry up and pour tea for your big sister.”

Hearing that, Wei Ye sneaked a tiny eye roll but didn’t dare say anything. He obediently put down his book, took the teapot, and poured her a cup.

As for Wei Shuo and little Xiao Xiao, the moment Zi Yan’s ’majestic’ gaze swept over them, both trembled, lowered their heads, and pretended to study with all their might. The sight left Wei Yang utterly stunned.

Clearly, during this period, Zi Yan had successfully established her absolute position as the big sister in the hearts of these three children.

”Mmh, that’s more like it.” Seeing their behavior, Zi Yan hummed in satisfaction, raised her chin proudly, and spoke with the air of an old veteran, ”Good kids. From now on, big sister will protect you.”

Like this, where was the dignity of a Dragon Emperor?

Dressed in purple, long hair tied into a casual ponytail, her carefree posture and the clear, silly brightness in her eyes made her look nearly identical to the little girl she had been all those years ago. Clearly, after leaving Ancient Dragon Island, she had completely let herself run wild.

”Where did you run off to and cause trouble this time?” Wei Yang rubbed his forehead, feeling a headache rising.

He didn’t need to guess. Over this period, the entire Falling Star Pavilion had definitely suffered more than a little from her antics. Hearing that, the three children immediately lifted their heads, eyes pleading for Wei Yang to save them.

But the instant Zi Yan gave them another of her ’fearsome’ glances, the three of them whipped their heads back down. Their pitiful appearance made Yao Lao’s heart ache, but he didn’t dare say anything. He could only pretend he didn’t see.

Even if he wanted to help his three precious grand-disciples, what could he do? These old bones of his couldn’t win a fight against Zi Yan!

A Six-Star Dou Sheng Zi Yan—within the entire Falling Star Pavilion, no one could keep her in check. She strutted around with absolute dominance.
