BTTH : Emperor Yang

Hall of Souls had many Branch Halls scattered across Central Plains.

Among them, twenty-four were considered particularly important, and Hall of Souls referred to these as the Earth Fiend Halls.

The Branch Hall that Wei Yang’s group destroyed in the Death Soul Mountain Range while rescuing Yao Lao had been one of these twenty-four Earth Fiend Halls. Above the Earth Fiend Halls were the Heaven Gang Halls, which were the true core branches of Hall of Souls.

The Heaven Gang Halls consisted of three halls, called Heaven, Earth, and Human. Among them, the Heaven Hall was the headquarters of Hall of Souls itself.

It was normally presided over by the Hall of Souls Hall Master, Hun Miesheng, and a mid-stage Five-Star Dou Sheng who also possessed a powerful sub-flame of the Nihility Devouring Flame.

The place was extremely mysterious, and aside from Hall of Souls’s highest-ranking members, practically no one knew its exact location. Even the Earth and Human Halls outside of the Heaven Hall, while not as mysterious as the Heaven Hall, were still incomparably secretive.

The world at large knew very little about them.

The Earth Hall was overseen and guarded by Hall of Souls’s Vice Hall Master, a Late Three-Star Dou Sheng.

The Human Hall was guarded by its high-ranking figures: the First Tian Zun, a Mid-stage Two-Star Dou Sheng, the Second Tian Zun, a high-level Ban Sheng, and the Third Tian Zun, a low-level Ban Sheng.

These three halls together formed the Upper Three Halls, containing all the most core high-level figures of Hall of Souls.

Oh, aside from these, there was also another especially important branch—the Demonic Flame Plains Branch, responsible solely for watching over the Purifying Demonic Lotus Flame. It was guarded by the Hun Qing, a One-Star Dou Sheng.

The above essentially summed up Hall of Souls’s entire high-end strength. The strongest was naturally Hun Miesheng, Hall of Souls’s Hall Master, a Mid-stage Five-Star Dou Sheng, who possessed a very powerful Nihility Devouring Flame sub-flame.

There was strong suspicion that the sub-flame Elder Mu Gu carried back then—one that was only at the peak Dou Zong level—had not been split directly from the main flame.

Instead, Hun Miesheng likely sent Mu Gu to the Pill Gathering with the intention of plotting for the Three Thousand Burning Flame, so he split a sub-sub-flame from his own sub-flame and granted it to Mu Gu.

After all, with Mu Gu’s level, he shouldn’t have had any chance of coming into contact with the real Nihility Devouring Flame. The strongest existence he could possibly approach was likely the Hall Master himself, Hun Miesheng.

After Hun Miesheng came the Earth Hall’s overseer, Hall of Souls’s Vice Hall Master, Late-stage Three-Star Dou Sheng.

Then the Human Hall’s First Tian Zun, Mid-stage Two-Star Dou Sheng.

Following that was the Hun Qing of the Demonic Flame Plains Branch, a One-Star Dou Sheng. Then came the high-level Ban Sheng Second Tian Zun and the Low-level Ban Sheng Third Tian Zun.

As for the Fourth Tian Zun, Xue He, and the many Fifth, Sixth, and Seventh Tian Zuns, they were all small fry at the Dou Zun level, unpresentable and hardly worth mentioning.

In total, Hall of Souls possessed four Dou Shengs and two Ban Shengs. This level of power was already frightening. In terms of numbers alone, even Falling Star Pavilion at the moment couldn’t compare.

This was only Hall of Souls. It didn’t even include the Hun Clan. Hall of Souls was merely an external force of the Hun Clan.

The total number of Dou Shengs within the Hun Clan exceeded twenty. Looking at it like this, they really lived up to their reputation as the final boss faction. They were built different.

Burial Mountain Range.

Located at the border of the Southwestern Region of Central Plains.

Due to geographical factors, the yin energy here was extremely dense, and within that yin energy was a heavy mix of corpse qi. That was because the thousands of families across this entire region all buried their dead here.

Thus, the Burial Mountain Range was essentially a bizarre mountain range formed from countless graves. Normally, this place was nearly devoid of human presence. No one would willingly spend time in a place this ghostly and gloomy.

However, everything had its exceptions.

Deep within the mountain range, in a hidden space concealed behind tall grey trees, faint distortions rippled through the air. This was the location of the Human Hall, one of the Heaven Gang Three Halls.

Within the distorted space lay an immense stretch of black land.

On the dark surface were occasional patches of ghastly white. Upon closer inspection, they were fractured bones, radiating eerie coldness. Only these Hall of Souls freaks could live in a place like this all year round.

At the center of this vast land, a gigantic black hall stood silently, like an ancient ferocious beast lying in wait.

A chilling, sinister aura slowly seeped outward. But at this moment, the grand hall looked extremely damaged. Its surface was covered in collapsed holes and cracks, with countless thick black chains broken and hanging downward.

The black earth surrounding the hall was also completely devastated, looking like it had been ravaged by violent explosions.

The entire space was utterly silent, devoid of any aura of life. A strange atmosphere shrouded the region, making one feel as if they had stepped directly into hell itself. This kind of deathly silence lingered for an unknown amount of time.

At some moment.

Buzz~

As the space in one corner twisted slightly, a figure wrapped entirely in dense black qi slowly emerged.

An overwhelming aura gradually spread throughout this sealed and silent space. The newcomer hovered in midair. His chilling, slightly blood-red eyes pierced through the black fog as he stared coldly at the shattered, ruined Human Hall below.

Moments later, the black fog rippled, revealing an unnaturally pale face. That face did not look old. In fact, it appeared surprisingly young, almost like a teenager.

However, from the eerie depths of his sinister eyes, one could faintly see a sense of age and weariness that clearly did not match his outward appearance. After a long silence, the youth finally spat out a bitter curse, ”Falling Star Pavilion, Xiao Yan!”

”Xiao Yan, the only mistake my Hall of Souls has made over the years was failing to kill you early. Because of that, you were allowed to grow, and now you’ve become a disaster!”

”But don’t get too proud. Although my Hun Clan is restricted by the rules set between the Ancient Clans and cannot act rashly, just wait.”

”It won’t be long before those rules can no longer restrain us. When that time comes, you will understand that the terror of my Hun Clan far surpasses anything you can imagine!”

Looking at the devastated space before him and the collapsed black palace — half of it in ruins the youth’s heart bled with rage.

All of the Human Hall’s elites — the First Tian Zun, the Second Tian Zun, the Third Tian Zun as well as the soul essences the Human Hall had collected for decades, were gone. The loss of the Second and Third Tian Zuns, those two Ban Sheng, was already serious enough.

But the First Tian Zun had been a true mid-stage Two-Star Dou Sheng!

Then there were the million soul essences. The soul was the root of all life, and within every soul, deep at its core, a strand of soul essence was nurtured — the purest, most fundamental form of spiritual energy between heaven and earth.

Even for the Hall of Souls, gathering a million strands of soul essence required nearly a century of effort. Now, all of it had been wiped clean in a single sweep. The loss was unimaginably devastating. Even the Hun Clan would feel the pain.

”The soul essences that my Human Hall spent nearly a hundred years collecting were all taken away by that damned brat, and the countless powerful soul essences we imprisoned have all been released. The Human Hall is completely finished. Once word of this reaches the clan, even I will definitely be severely punished!”

This youth was none other than the Hall of Souls’s Vice Hall Master, an old monster at the mid-stage of Three-Star Dou Sheng. At this moment, his face was pale, his lips trembling slightly as he gritted his teeth and spoke with hatred.

The Human Hall was one of the most important divisions of the Hall of Souls.

The soul bodies imprisoned within were extremely powerful, and the soul essences harvested from them were of incredibly high quality. But now, all of those soul essences had been taken by Xiao Yan, and even the powerful soul bodies had been released.

This level of loss was something the Hall of Souls could not withstand.

”Falling Star Pavilion’s strength is terrifying, and then there’s that Wei Yang! With my power alone, I’m nowhere close to being their opponent.”

”In today’s Hall of Souls, aside from the Hall Master, there’s no one left who can suppress them. Truly raising a tiger only to invite disaster!” the Hall of Souls Vice Hall Master murmured bitterly.
