Worthless Profession: Dragon Tamer

Chapter 510, Evaluation Complete, S Rank!

How would they really react if the chaos in Overseeing Heaven City was actually found out to be directly related to Lu Fan?

Regardless, producing a Gold Wing Medal from the Griffin Legion had completely overwhelmed Meng Jia from every perspective.

Meng Jia understood better than anyone how stringent the requirements were to join the Griffin Legion, and he knew that earning Military Merits in the Griffin Legion was inevitably several times more difficult than in the Blood Cloaked Legion.

The prestige of Lu Fan’s Gold Wing Medal was no less than that of Meng Jia’s Grandfather, who was the current Commander of the Blood Cloaked Legion.

Meng Jia’s Grandfather, as the highest ranking Officer of the Blood Cloaked Legion, had spent forty years to climb up to his current position.

During those forty years, he had slaughtered countless Monsters and repelled numerous Monster Tides.

Yet, despite all these Military Merits, he still could not be compared to Lu Fan, which Meng Jia found utterly inconceivable.

At the same time, he realised that with just this Gold Wing Medal from the Griffin Legion, Lu Fan was destined to be someone he could never surpass in his lifetime.

Lu Fan put away the Gold Wing Medal and calmly stated. “I’ve been to the Extremely Far North Ice Plains and followed members of the Griffin Legion on exploration Missions. In the Extremely Far North Ice Plains, I had to complete the exploration of a Forbidden Zone along with three other Griffin Legion members. That has earned me a ton of Military Merits.”

“In the National Trial, I also claimed over two hundred Map Resources for Dragon Country, and was personally awarded Military Merits by Elder Han, one of Dragon Country’s Three Elders. It ultimately allowed my Medal to get promoted to become a Gold Wing.”

“Strictly speaking, I’m not actually a member of the Griffin Legion. This Medal was given to me by Senior Tu, or Tu Jing as you all know him by. He was the one who allowed me to use the Griffin Legion Medal to gain certain privileges.”

“So, although I’m not part of the Griffin Legion, the Military Merits in the Medal are all real. You should understand better than I do how Military Merits are acquired, and what sacrifices they require.”

Meng Jia swallowed hard. He was not entirely clear on exactly how one could advance to become a Gold Wing.

But he guessed that only by single-handedly repelling five Monster Tides led by Bosses that were higher than Level 90, or independently completing the exploration of two Forbidden Zones, could one be exceptional enough to be promoted to Gold Wing.

These two Missions were the fastest ways to earn Military Merits, and for Lu Fan to become a Gold Wing holder within a year, he must have taken this route.

However, neither of these Missions could possibly be accomplished by a Level 50 Player. Even Fourth Profession Players could not easily complete such Missions.

Without doubt, behind Lu Fan’s Gold Wing Medal represented dangers that Meng Jia had never experienced, battles against enemies that Meng Jia had never faced.

So, what reason did Meng Jia have to remain defiant?

If Meng Jia worked hard, Lu Fan worked even harder.

While Meng Jia struggled in life-or-death battles with Monsters to earn Military Merits, Lu Fan had fought more Monsters, and stronger ones at that!

“So,” said Lu Fan with a slight smile, seeing that Meng Jia’s mental defences had completely collapsed, “do you still have any objections?”

Meng Jia’s entire body trembled, but he remained silent. At this point, there was nothing he could say.

He had accepted defeat.

Lu Fan’s strength was not unrelated to him being a Dragon Tamer. However, what Lu Fan had experienced and sacrificed was no less than what Meng Jia had.

In this world, it was not frightening to meet someone smarter than oneself, but it was truly frightening when meeting someone smarter and more hard working than oneself.

Lu Fan undoubtedly belonged to the latter category, so what objections could Meng Jia possibly have?

Seeing that Meng Jia had absolutely nothing left to say, Lu Fan could not be bothered with him anymore and simply turned to rejoin Jian Ying and the others.

As Lu Fan’s group had achieved first place in the final exam, they naturally had to receive their Rewards here, enjoying a moment of glory.

The Rewards for first place in the final exam were decent. It included a large amount of University Points, as well as equipment, Skill Books, Crafting Recipes and many others.

However, Lu Fan’s group did not lack any of these things, as even the abundant resources of Dragon Capital University could not be compared to the Ye Family.

The gifts that Ye Wuxian had asked Lu Fan to bring back were enough to ensure that Jian Ying and the others would not need to replace any of their equipment for a long time, so everyone just selected some Skill Books, Crafting Recipes, or Attribute Enhancement Potions.

Finally, amidst sighs from the other students who had not had enough excitement and still harboured some jealousy towards Lu Fan, the final exam had been concluded. That evening, all students could check their results on the University Network.

After returning, Lu Fan also checked his results. His evaluation for the semester was the highest grade possible – S. Jian Ying also received an S, while Tao Xiaoman, Qin Qiu, and Han Ke received A+.

It was not difficult to understand why Lu Fan and Jian Ying received the same grade. Just like in the major exam, it was not that Lu Fan only deserved an S grade, but rather that S was the highest possible grade.

As for Jian Ying, she was formidable on her own. She was capable of fighting evenly with Meng Jia, so it was not surprising that she received an S grade.

Tao Xiaoman and Qin Qiu were slightly weaker, so getting A+ grades was quite good for them.

As for Han Ke, she had only been filling in the numbers from beginning to end. She did not have any combat ability.

But within the Lifestyle Faculty, in terms of grades, she has consistently been at the top, and her Level was close to surpassing her teachers. Combined with being a member of the team that got first place in the final exam, she had managed to coast to an A+.

With this, everyone’s first year has been completed, and they would need to continue working hard in their next sophomore year.

With the final exam results now released, the first-year students could now officially declare their first year of studies concluded. The next morning, everyone could take various forms of transportation back to their own cities to enjoy a four-month long holiday!

Lu Fan and Han Ke naturally would return to Jianghai City together with Qin Qiu and Tao Xiaoman. Once again, Qin Shanhai had arranged private cars and a private plane for everyone well in advance, making their journey back to Jianghai City completely hassle-free.

At the same time, the first phase of construction of Shadow Isle had been completed by Marozov’s team. A Transportation Array connecting directly to Dragon Capital University had been established on Shadow Isle.

This meant that even if Lu Fan returned to Jianghai City, he could use Shadow Isle as a transfer point to return to Dragon Capital University and run his private Dungeon Instance.

With everything at Dragon Capital University settled, Lu Fan and the girls retired early to their rooms in Villa No. 2, waiting only for the next morning to board the plane and leave.

However, around ten o’clock, there was a knock on Lu Fan’s door.

Lu Fan opened the door to find Jian Ying standing timidly outside in her nightwear.

“Lu Fan…” Jian Ying said, somewhat bashfully, her large eyes looking at him, “Tomorrow you’ll all be returning to Jianghai City, and I… I have something I want to tell you…”

Silavin: Oh no. A confession? Find out next time!

Damn. Cliffhangers are annoying for readers but sometimes fun for authors/translators.

Anyways, I will shill the Patreon since the chapter is out there before this chapter is released unless you are already in the highest tier.
