Wizard: Scamming a Demon God

Chapter 137: Chapter 121: Blonde Hair, Bountiful, Classic Elements

*PFFT!*

On the other side of the Forest Island, a multi-colored sphere shot out a Flaming Arrow, piercing straight through the head of a Demonized Wild Boar and ending its life in an instant.

The one standing inside the sphere was none other than Isaac. When it came to Armor Stacking, he was quite the expert!

”A Stone Armor Pig... I didn’t expect to find this kind of Demon Beast here. It seems they didn’t consider the ecosystem when dropping in the Demons... Harmon, eat it.” Isaac stroked his chin, looking thoughtfully at the boar on the ground.

The Stone Armor Pig was a Demon that lived in mountainous regions, named for the stone scales covering its body. Most of these Demons were also adept at the Talent Spell, Stone Armor Technique. With the two layered, their defensive capabilities were even greater.

However, this Demon’s value was quite average. Its meat was saturated with the Earth Element, making it difficult to absorb and taste very bland. It didn’t have any notable materials either. Coupled with the high difficulty of hunting it, its price was always steep, making it a very poor value.

This was also the first Stone Armor Pig Isaac had ever seen, so for him, it had a certain collectible value.

”Hiss~”

Harmon cried out, then swallowed the Stone Armor Pig’s... head in one gulp, and promptly got stuck...

It couldn’t be helped. Although Harmon had already stretched its mouth as wide as possible, it was still no match for the Stone Armor Pig’s enormous size.

”Wuuu~”

Isaac: ”...”

Rubbing his forehead, Isaac let out a heavy sigh. ”You idiot. Can’t you eat it bit by bit? It won’t affect the Magic’s effect.”

Walking over, Isaac kicked the Stone Armor Pig out of Harmon’s mouth. He then ignored Harmon as it joyfully began gnawing on the corpse and walked over to a large tree. He bent down, picked up a multi-colored Crystal Stone, breathed on it, wiped it clean, and put it in his pocket.

’This thing is really hard to find. I don’t know if I got here a little late, or if they just didn’t put many in to begin with. I’ve been here for a while and I’ve only found this one piece. Unbelievable...’

’Good thing I can just take them from others. On the third day, when we get to the third island, the participants from both islands will not only gather together, but a leaderboard will also be activated. Plus, the coordinates of anyone holding a Crystal Stone will be announced every half hour. That’s when the real battle begins.’

’So there’s no need to rush. The most important thing right now is to keep hunting Demons to collect their flesh and blood, and to survive until the third day. That will be the time for fighting.’

As for now... of course, it was time to reap the spoils of war!

”Harmon! Hurry! Another one’s down over there!”

Hearing Isaac’s command, Harmon immediately opened five gaping, jagged-toothed maws at the tips of its five claws. They swarmed forward, instantly devouring the Stone Armor Pig, then quickly retracted to Isaac’s side to stand guard.

With Harmon back, Isaac picked up his pace, occasionally transforming into an Arcane Streaming Light to dart through the branches and leaves.

Before long, he arrived at a small creek. Seeing a member of the Sea Race collapsed by the water’s edge, face ashen and on the verge of death, the corners of Isaac’s mouth tilted up slightly.

”Human...” The member of the Sea Race lying on the ground lifted his weak right hand, picked up a rock, and threw it at Isaac. However, because his muscles had almost completely dissolved, it fell feebly at Isaac’s feet.

Glancing at the pebble on the ground, Isaac smiled faintly. Without another word, he stepped forward and ended the man’s life. Harmon then swung a Wind Blade, severing his head. Next, a bloody halo floated up from the Sea Race corpse and gradually condensed into a light red Gemstone in Isaac’s hand.

Perfect utilization!

”Was that really necessary? He’s one of the Sea Race, but he was already dead!” Just as Isaac put the Gemstone away, four figures emerged from the shadows of the nearby woods, watching him coldly.

At their waists hung several bloody bags, just like Isaac’s.

”Heh~” Isaac wasn’t surprised by their arrival. He chuckled lightly, taking the cloth pouch Harmon had looted from the Sea Race corpse and fastening it behind his back as well. ”Are Adventurers these days all so high and mighty?” he said nonchalantly.

”Don’t you dare compare us to you!” The leader of the four was a blonde female Swordsman, about five-foot-three. Her figure... was probably good. Although her chest appeared flat, the binding marks on her back were a dead giveaway that she was well-endowed.

After all, there was no need to bind a flat chest.

’Soft skin, delicate features. She must be from the Nobility.’

This was one of the reasons Isaac hadn’t attacked them immediately upon discovery.

”So, what do you want now? To kill me and avenge him? Or are you looking to cooperate? This formation doesn’t seem very cooperative, though.” As he spoke, Isaac glanced to his right. About two hundred meters away, their archer was perched in the treetops.

One shield, one bow, one staff, and two swords—a standard party composition for noble Adventurers.

”I see. So you were using these insects to monitor us? They seem to be somewhat poisonous, too.” At that moment, the Mage, who had been silent until now, stopped the blonde girl as she was about to retort. He held a mosquito in his hand, his brow slightly furrowed.

Isaac felt a bit helpless. ’As expected. Even though I weakened the Magic Power of the Non-Rank Demon Insect, the Blood Mosquito, and enhanced its biological toxins to make its magical fluctuations negligible and drastically improve its stealth, I still couldn’t get it past him.’

’All I can say is, he’s a formally trained Arcanist for a reason. Even though he’s only at the level of an Official Wizard like me, his reserve of Knowledge is far more complete than mine.’

’After all, even a Tier Two member of the Sea Race couldn’t detect my improved Blood Mosquitoes, mistaking them for Ordinary insects.’

”Just luck. I happened to have read a paper on insects,” the male Mage said with a calm expression, casually tossing the insect aside as he watched Isaac warily.

Isaac raised an eyebrow. ”So, what are you going to do? Avenge him?”

Hearing this, the blonde girl fell silent. ’How am I supposed to respond when he’s already taken the moral high ground?’

’No matter how cruel or inhuman Isaac’s methods were, he had ultimately only used them on the Sea Race. At least, that’s all they had seen. If they were to attack him because of that... it would be unjustifiable...’

’Even if she was confident they could kill Isaac quickly, she couldn’t get over the hurdle in her heart. After all, she was a proper member of the Nobility, and the education she’d received since childhood wouldn’t allow her to do such a thing.’

”...You... You’re not allowed to do that again.”

Isaac: ”...”

Her teammates behind her: ”...”

The teammates behind the blonde girl stared at her, astonished. ’Seriously, sis? You held that in for so long just to say that? That’s it?’

Isaac also stared at her in astonishment. ’I only said that to get a rise out of them, but I didn’t expect it to be so effective!’

’Are the Adventurers in this world actually this civilized?’

Feeling the others’ astonished gazes, the blonde girl’s pretty face flushed slightly red as she emphasized again, ”Anyway, you’re not allowed to do that anymore!”

”...” Isaac was silent for a moment. ’When the opponent is this weak, it’s hard to even feel like resisting...’ ”Just don’t bother me.”

After speaking, he glanced at the Mage behind the girl and vanished in a flash of blue light.

Seeing this, the male Mage paused for a moment. ’No wonder he seemed so familiar. So it was him?’
