Chapter 3269: Chapter 3270: Reception Area

”The pattern on the flag seems unrelated to Everything House?” Luigi also saw the flag fluttering atop the building, red with black bat, and in his eyes, it had nothing to do with the nature of Everything House.

Now that Glaipnir and Gutalace hadn’t followed him up, and nobody was around to answer his question, he could only temporarily set this doubt aside.

The door to Everything House was open, but it was covered by a curtain.

Earlier, when Angel was outside the wall, he noticed that when people lifted the curtain, a faint glow would shimmer around them. Observing closely now, he found that this curtain was not made of ordinary fabric; it was inscribed densely with Magic Patterns.

The Patterns were so dense that at a glance, one could tell they had formed a Magical Energy Array, and the level wasn’t low.

Since there were many people moving in and out, Angel didn’t have the time to observe carefully and couldn’t determine exactly what kind of Magical Energy Array it was.

But from the large amount of ”space-related” Magic Tattoo Horns, Angel could guess that this was likely a space-related Magical Energy Array.

Perhaps, it was a space shielding type Magical Energy Array?

After all, once Sipolov entered Everything House, the Dragon Scale couldn’t lock onto its coordinates. Moreover, the firm was inside Ring Fort, and if they didn’t set up some shielding Magical Energy Array, it might just be completely exposed to the Giant City Spirit.

Thus, Angel first speculated it was a shielding Magical Energy Array.

Apart from speculating the effects of the Magical Energy Array, Angel had another doubt: why was there a Magical Energy Array here?

Within the Mirror Domain, Magical Energy Arrays were not popular.

In fact, single Magic Patterns themselves were rare, let alone multiple Magic Patterns combined into a Magical Energy Array.

Generally speaking, setting up a Magical Energy Array was mostly done by Wizards, or believers of the Abyssal Great Demon God ’Cruel Scholar’.

The appearance of a Magical Energy Array here, does it mean there’s a Human Wizard behind Everything House?

Thinking of this, Angel couldn’t help but recall earlier when Gutalace mentioned the three known Deacons of Everything House. Among them was one called ”Human Steward”, does this ”Human” represent humankind? Could the Human Steward be a Wizard?

As Angel’s thoughts flowed, Luigi had already pushed open the curtain.

However, as soon as he lifted the curtain, he frowned and let go of his hand.

”What’s wrong?” Angel asked in confusion.

Luigi shook his head: ”No, something feels off. If I go in, I feel I’ll be randomly transported to a certain reception area.”

”Randomly transported?” Angel was stunned for a moment, could it be that this curtain was inscribed with a transportation type Magical Energy Array.

Angel instinctively reached out and touched the curtain.

With the curtain lifted, Angel could clearly see a dark tunnel inside, with no view of what lay at the end. Meanwhile, a halo emanated from the curtain, surrounding Angel.

Angel was not unfamiliar with this halo, it was an information-type aura.

At the entrance of many shops in Extraordinary City or Wizard Market, there were similar halos. They would transmit certain information to the visitor through the halo.

And the information this halo delivered to Angel was just one sentence: ”Facial and aura comparison completed; no relevant records. Marked as a new visitor... about to be transported to Reception Area 158.”

”Teleportation countdown, three seconds: three, two...”

Not waiting for the teleportation countdown to finish, Angel hurriedly let go of his hand.

”It shows I’ll be transported to Reception Area 158.” After Angel finished speaking, he looked at Luigi: ”Is it the same for you?”

Luigi shook his head: ”Mine shows transportation to Reception Area 15.”

Angel: ”It seems, indeed, to be a random teleportation device, with each person transported to a different reception area.”

Moreover, judging from this, the internal space of Everything House likely isn’t small.

Luigi frowned: ”So what do we do now? Are we supposed to enter and then meet up later?”

Angel: ”There should be a mechanism to enter together, right?”

It’s not possible for multiple people coming together to be forcibly separated. There must be a mechanism in place to allow them to be together.

As they conversed, a cold snort sounded from behind: ”A bunch of inexperienced folk, if you’re not going in, move aside, don’t block the way.”

Angel turned to see that the speaker was a Yingji Clan girl.

She didn’t wear the tight uniform like other members of the Yingji Clan but donned a pristine white gauze robe, transparent wisps paired with golden garb, hanging from both sides.

Her attire made her resemble certain religious ceremonial women.

Especially with the white blindfold matching the radiant white flames surrounding her, it added a holy touch.

Like a religious Saintess.

However, a religious Saintess is usually noble and indifferent, but this girl had a bit of arrogance and pride.

Confronted by the cold snort of the Yingji Clan girl, Luigi initially wanted to retort a few words, but upon thinking, they were indeed blocking the entrance for quite a long time, a queue had even formed behind them. He was somewhat embarrassed, so he chose to step aside.

Seeing the path was clear, the Yingji Clan girl no longer paid attention to Luigi but spoke to a thin Yingji Clan gentleman behind her: ”Uncle Kuo, I’ll go first, wait for me by the office door.”

The girl lifted the curtain, and with a flash, she was teleported to an unknown place.

However, the Yingji Clan gentleman referred to as ”Uncle Kuo” didn’t follow her into Everything House, instead standing aside, giving way for the queue to proceed.

A few seconds later, after everyone in line had entered Everything House, Uncle Kuo still hadn’t touched the curtain, but turned to Angel and others with a gentle nod: ”Earlier, my niece’s words were a bit abrupt, I hope you will forgive us.”

Luigi frowned, remaining silent.

Uncle Kuo then continued: ”I overheard your conversation earlier, you seem to have some questions, perhaps I can assist in answering. Consider it an apology for my niece’s impudence.”

Luigi originally didn’t want to speak, but upon hearing Uncle Kuo’s words, he hesitated and nodded: ”We wish to enter Everything House together and not be separately transported... Does the teleportation allow multiple people together?”

Uncle Kuo: ”It can accommodate multiple people, but if you want to be transported together, you need permission.”

Uncle Kuo seemed genuinely apologetic for his ”niece’s” earlier brusqueness, so he explained in great detail.

The so-called permission is assessed internally by Everything House.

Generally speaking, key figures of various races, as well as very famous individuals, have higher permissions compared to ordinary people.

Moreover, a person with high permission may not necessarily know they have it, everything is decided internally by Everything House.

Those with high permission receive an information prompt when entering Everything House and have more choices compared to ordinary people.

Exactly what kind of prompt, Uncle Kuo couldn’t explain, as he was not a high-permission individual either.

”Of course, even if you’re not a high authority, there’s no need to worry about being unable to meet up after being teleported inside. Just like my niece said earlier, pick a location and wait for others to arrive.”

Generally speaking, the chosen meeting place is always the affairs hall.

The Everything House has many newcomer reception points, but only one affairs hall.

The affairs hall is akin to a commission center, the core of Everything House, where any assignments can be discussed and registered with its staff.

Uncle Kuo: ”...That’s basically the situation.”

After Uncle Kuo finished speaking and confirmed they had no other questions, he nodded to them and entered the Everything House ahead of them.

After Uncle Kuo left, Angel spoke up, ”Shall we go to the newcomer reception first and then meet at the entrance to the affairs hall?”

Luigi had no objections to this, but as he nodded, his gaze involuntarily drifted to Laplace off to the side.

According to Uncle Kuo, high authority is entirely determined by internal assessments at the Everything House. Many high authorities don’t even know they are one. So, could Laplace be considered a high authority?

Laplace’s avatar may not be well-known in the Daylight Mirror Domain, but let’s not forget, there is a Dog Deacon in the Everything House.

The Dog Deacon has met Laplace.

Or rather, every time the Dog Deacon has visited Laplace, it has been this avatar of Laplace he has met.

If the Dog Deacon is part of the high authority assessment, then Laplace very likely belongs to the high authority group.

Although Luigi didn’t say anything or sync his thoughts over the Mind Ribbon, his eyes revealed his inner thoughts.

Laplace naturally understood his meaning. She thought for a moment, then proactively walked to the door and lifted the curtain.

A familiar halo enveloped Laplace.

A second later, Laplace put down the curtain and gently shook her head at Luigi.

The answer was evident; Laplace wasn’t a high authority.

Luigi sighed, ”Let’s each teleport to the reception then and meet at the entrance to the affairs hall.”

Angel and Laplace both nodded in agreement.

Soon, Luigi and Laplace had disappeared behind the curtain.

Angel was the last to go in. When confirming the teleportation, Angel didn’t feel any sense of weightlessness. Instead, the deep tunnel ahead seemed to rotate like a Rubik’s Cube out of thin air.

Then, Angel saw that the curtain behind him had vanished, replaced by a wall, and ahead was a tunnel leading to a visible light.

If nothing unexpected occurs, the tunnel’s exit should be at reception point number 158.

Judging from the light at the end of the tunnel, it seemed the path might be quite long?

As Angel started to walk towards it, he had only taken a few steps when he noticed the tunnel’s exit light drawing close to him at an incredible speed.

He stopped, and the light stopped with him.

It was as if he could cross hundreds of meters with a single step.

This peculiar experience reminded Angel of ”Shrinking the Ground into Inches.”

While he didn’t understand how the Everything House achieved this, it certainly saved him a lot of energy.

As Angel continued forward, he contemplated what had happened earlier.

Laplace not being a high authority was quite intriguing.

The Dog Deacon must be aware of Laplace’s existence, but he hasn’t made it public. Why is that?

Angel speculated there were two possibilities. Firstly, the Dog Deacon knows Laplace doesn’t like to be disturbed, so he hasn’t reported anything; secondly, the Dog Deacon might be worried that reporting would lead to trouble, for either the Everything House or Laplace.

Of course, it could be that the Dog Deacon didn’t participate in the high authority assessment. However, Angel felt this possibility was rather low; after all, there are only six deacons in the Everything House, and they would likely gather for such an assessment.

Setting aside the possibility of the Dog Deacon’s non-participation, under the current circumstances, no matter the reason, it suggests that the Everything House is quite extraordinary.

However, where this extraordinariness manifests, Angel couldn’t say for certain yet.

...

Not long after, Angel emerged from the tunnel.

He found himself in a cramped, narrow little room.

Angel looked back; the passage he came from had disappeared. The small room offered only one door, leading to an unknown place.

The room’s furnishings were fairly complete, from the fireplace to the sofa, from the curtain to the carpet... with no particular peculiarities. The air carried the scent of hearthwood and a faint aroma of tea, typical of a human style.

The ambiance was warm, making it easy for someone to lower their guard.

Besides Angel, there was a girl in a red dress in the room. She wasn’t surprised to see Angel and even smiled, nodding at him.

It’s worth mentioning that the girl was human, with a subtle magical power emanating from her. If she were a wizard, she might be at the level of a Second-Level Wizard Apprentice.

”Greetings, Honorable Wizard. Receptionist 158 extends her regards.”

Her Universal Language was very standard, and her accent originated from the Flourish Continent of the Southern Domain.

Angel thought for a moment, then asked, ”Are you from the Southern Domain?”

The girl nodded, ”Yes, I’m from the Southern Domain Wizard World. May I assist you with anything, sir?”

Angel asked the girl more questions, but regarding matters of the Southern Domain, she rarely had answers—not because she was unwilling to answer, but because she didn’t know.

From the information she shared, Angel confirmed she was one of the Empty-hearted People.

When she regained consciousness, she was already at the Everything House. Her past was completely forgotten, and now her language, etiquette, and even the meditation method she cultivated were provided by the Everything House.

This means that her standard Southern Domain accent was also taught by the Everything House, but whether she truly came from the Southern Domain is hard to ascertain.

Though the Everything House claims she’s from the Southern Domain, there’s no evidence to back up this claim.

Additionally, Angel learned that she is here to cater to human visitors and explain some of the Everything House’s services.

This means Angel was teleported to reception point 158 not randomly, but because the halo outside detected he was human and specifically directed him to a human reception point.
