Chapter 2113: Chapter 2114: Communication Reestablished

Under Angel’s intentional mention, Tree Spirit also developed a strong curiosity about the Mother Tree Network.

Seizing the opportunity, Angel took Tree Spirit back to Originheart City and introduced him to Jon.

Jon’s unique temperament and distinctive way of thinking quickly captivated Tree Spirit, engaging him in conversation. During the exchange, he became increasingly eager about the Mother Tree Network.

Angel no longer involved himself in the remaining matters.

Angel believed that with Tree Spirit’s vision, once exposed to the Mother Tree Network, he should be able to see the network’s potential.

If this could further pique Tree Spirit’s interest in the Mother Tree Network and make him willing to research it with Jon, then when they encounter research bottlenecks and need higher permissions, Angel could naturally bestow the ”Tree Civilization” authority to Tree Spirit.

Whether things would go as smoothly as he imagined, Angel didn’t know at this moment. However, regardless of success or failure, he decided to give it a try first.

After handling this matter, Angel returned to reality.

Next, he devoted all his energy to deciphering the broken magic patterns on the Knight’s armor.

Time flew by, Nightfall was torn apart by the morning star, and with the unexpected arrival of snow, a new day began.

Rhein also returned to the ruins at this time.

”I previously visited Dumatin. He hasn’t done much research on fungi, but he has studied the Parachute Fungus Insect bloodline in the past, which has some fungal properties. It could be worth trying to research the mystic veil,” Rhein paused, ”however, after some thought, I declined him at first.”

Angel also agreed with Rhein’s approach.

If it were another wizard, even one who had never studied fungi, they might give the same response as Dumatin. Even if it’s not possible, they would claim it is, creating conditions to research it regardless.

If the research were on something else, it would be one thing, but the mystic veil is a different matter. It’s extremely dangerous and could threaten the survival of the Barbarian Cave at any time, leaving them little time.

Carelessly giving it to someone to mess around with is not an option.

Most importantly, Angel didn’t bring back many mystic veil larvae, so they can’t be wasted lightly.

”Lord Rhein, you don’t have to worry. I’ve contacted the Mushroom Witch, and she is on her way to the Barbarian Cave, possibly arriving soon,” said Angel.

Upon hearing this, Rhein finally breathed a sigh of relief. According to him, the Mushroom Witch is currently the most knowledgeable in the Southern Domain when it comes to mushroom research, coming from the Research and Development Institute.

Having her lead the research on the mystic veil is the best choice for now.

Following this, Angel discussed Regina’s arrival with Rhein.

Rhein agreed with Angel’s decision to have Regina conduct her research in the lower levels of the ruins. For one, the mystic veil is precious and rare, and being nearby allows for close monitoring to prevent Regina from taking it without permission; secondly, the mystic veil is dangerous, and the ruins are isolated from reality, providing maximum safety; and most importantly, the mystic veil is naturally close to Angel. With Angel overseeing, potential dangers like mystic veil riots can be avoided.

Even though Rhein agreed with Regina conducting research here, he also supplemented details that Angel hadn’t considered.

For instance, regarding personnel, since Regina is alone, she definitely needs assistants, which Rhein will arrange; the experiments will undoubtedly require significant amounts of consumables. Regina is there to assist with the research, so it wouldn’t be feasible to have her cover these, nor should Angel, since the mystic veil involves the safety of the entire Barbarian Cave. Therefore, Rhein took responsibility for the research’s consumables, providing Angel with nearly unlimited resource support.

After perfecting the details, the matter of mystic veil research was considered settled, leaving the rest to await Regina taking over the research.

In the following time, Rhein discussed topics related to the Wilderness of Dreams with Angel.

The opening and construction of the Wilderness of Dreams undoubtedly needed Rhein’s support, and Angel was more than willing to discuss it.

Their main focus was on the construction of the New City.

Rhein fully acknowledged the vast potential of the Wilderness of Dreams and foresaw that once it was promoted, it would surely attract numerous Transcendents. Eventually, this gathering place for Transcendents would show its value.

Originheart City is a city of mortals, not very appealing to Transcendents. However, the New City mentioned by Angel, a city exclusively for Transcendents, intrigued Rhein greatly.

The construction of the New City would require a large workforce, certainly needing Rhein’s help. Therefore, on the topic of the New City, Angel did not hold back and disclosed all the details.

Rhein praised the aspects of life, social interaction, private communication, and guilds planned within.

However, even though the details were perfectly planned and not mundane, these were merely details. The most immediate impression, however, would be the city’s appearance.

Rhein had some concerns that if the New City’s appearance resembled Originheart City, it would be difficult to attract people.

Having been critiqued countless times for the design of Originheart City, Angel was now mostly immune to it, and he directly ignored Rhein’s evaluation of Originheart City, nodding and saying: ”Lord Rhein, if you’re curious about the New City’s design, why don’t we visit the designer? He has the design drawings as well.”

Rhein naturally had no objections, preparing to put on his monocle.

However, just as they were about to enter the Wilderness of Dreams, a loud ”thump, thump, thump” echoed throughout the empty study.

Rhein was already familiar with this sound, instinctively glancing at Angel’s pocket.

Angel took out a button with silver gears, which was flickering with an uncertain glow, clearly the sound from the Mini Signal Tower.

Angel was already very familiar with the installation process of the Mini Signal Tower, and within seconds, it was set up beside them.

Angel initially thought the message came from the direction of the Sky Mechanical City, but after a brief check, he found that the sender was not Signal Tower No. 1.

He turned to Rhein: ”It’s the Crown Star Church.”

Rhein was contemplating whether to step back, but hearing Angel, he steadied himself.

A signal from the Crown Star Church Signal Tower meant the sender must be Maya.

Indeed, when the light screen connected, the visage that appeared was the white-haired and elderly Maya Witch.

When the Maya Witch saw Angel on the light screen, a hint of surprise flashed in her eyes. After a long moment, she finally let out a long sigh: ”Finally connected...”

These past few days, the Witch Maya has been trying to make contact, but Angel’s signal tower has been unresponsive. Maya even thought the Barbarian Cave might be in danger, so she purposely purchased some special casting materials to divine the omens.

Before she could inquire about the omens, her routine contact with Angel’s signal tower finally got a response.

After hearing Maya Witch’s account, Angel exchanged a glance with Rhein, the latter giving him a slight nod, prompting Angel to speak: ”In the past few days, I went to the Star Pond Ruins. The ruins are isolated in a semi-dimension, unable to receive outside signals. I only just returned yesterday.”

Angel’s words made Maya Witch’s pupils contract.

Angel went to the ruins? And he stayed there for several days?! Although to an outsider these words might seem unremarkable, Maya knew very well just how dangerous the ruins were!

The ruins have engulfed a large number of wizards, and until now, no one had returned from within. Angel actually went in and came back safely!

What exactly happened in there? Why does it feel like so many significant changes have occurred in just a few days? And why did Angel go to the ruins?

Doubts filled Maya’s mind, but she did not immediately ask about these questions. She knew very well that if Angel wanted to talk about it, he would tell her without her asking; if he didn’t want to talk about it, he must have his reasons.

”How many more days until the end of the exchange meeting?” Angel asked.

Maya: ”The Stargazing Day exchange is nearing its end, and no major prophecies have appeared in recent days. Many wizards have already left, and I can leave at any time.”

”Alright, concerning the situation at the ruins, I’ll explain it to you in detail when you return,” Angel said.

Maya nodded. Although she was extremely curious, as a seasoned wizard, she had an excellent control over her emotions.

After a pause, Maya asked, ”Should I inform Tuvalule about this?”

Tuvalule is a Prophet Wizard of the Song of the Deep Sea, and since many wizards from the Song of the Deep Sea have fallen in the ruins, they will certainly not give up exploring it.

Angel went to the ruins and returned smoothly, meaning he must have gathered a lot of information from the ruins.

Tuvalule is currently at the Crown Star Church. Maya’s dilemma is whether to share this information with him.

Angel pondered for a moment and then had a quiet discussion with Rhein.

Inside the ruins, the situation was complex, involving a grand plan of the Nightmare Realm, and Angel was also contemplating whether to speak of it.

Rhein pondered for a moment: ”It’s okay to tell him, but you don’t need to disclose the details of your experiences. I trust you’ll handle discretion better than I.”

Angel nodded, knowing that anything related to ”Shava” he certainly couldn’t mention. He also needed to hide his harmonious encounters with creatures of the Nightmare Realm, but he could disclose information about the situation inside and the identity and strength of the Nightmare Realm creatures.

Thinking of this, Angel nodded to Maya: ”You can.”

Maya also heard the dialogue between Angel and Rhein, and she breathed a little sigh of relief. During the Stargazing Day, she didn’t receive any prophecies about the ruins; Tuvalule, on the other hand, did see some things and shared them with Maya, in exchange for shared information.

After all, the ruins beneath the Star Pond had devoured not only wizards of the Song of the Deep Sea but also many from the Barbarian Cave. Their location was within the Barbarian Cave. To understand the situation and rescue the fallen wizards, cooperation between the two factions was best.

If Maya hadn’t known today’s information, that would be one thing. But knowing it and keeping it hidden, if the fate-experienced Tuvalule sensed it, she’d feel embarrassed.

Since it could be disclosed, Maya didn’t need to go against her conscience, and naturally, she felt relieved.

At this moment, Rhein added, ”Although you can talk, you must first tell Tuvalule that to know the detailed information, the Sea God should contact me.”

The consequences of Xinai’s arrival are still unknown. But this matter is absolutely vital, and a contact must happen at the highest level.

The internal situation of the Song of the Deep Sea is too complex, with too many faction struggles and connections to external Alien Gods. The only one Rhein trusts is Florenza.

Though Rhein dislikes Florenza’s personality, Florenza himself and the faction he represents in the Song of the Deep Sea, at least, haven’t become traitors to the Southern Domain Wizard World.

After hearing this, Maya nodded: ”I’ll inform Tuvalule.”

Maya appeared calm on the outside, but internally, she was tumultuous. The fact that not even Tuvalule could be told and that communication at the highest level was required showed that the situation within the ruins was absolutely extraordinary. The information Angel brought out was likely to become a massive shock.

After finishing the discussion about the ruins, Rhein looked at Maya on the light screen: ”Have any other prophecies emerged in recent days?”

Maya nodded: ”There are some, but after analysis, none are too important.”

Although saying so, Maya still went over all these prophecies. As she mentioned, these prophecies didn’t have much impact on a behemoth like the Barbarian Cave, with only two prophecies possibly having limited effects on the Barbarian Cave.

One is about a potential royal power struggle within the Ailie Duchy, which might even lead to a large-scale military coup. The Ailie Duchy is near the Pamiji Plateau, and internal war there might flood the Pamiji Plateau with refugees.

In the past, that might have been fine, but currently, the Pamiji Plateau is within the range of the living line. If the refugees get infected and this spreads to surrounding countries, it might lead to mass casualties.

Such mass casualties, even in the Wizarding Realm, would be something they’d strive to avoid.

But to solve it, one would inevitably have to get involved in the royal power struggle, something wizards are usually unwilling to meddle in.

Thus, Rhein was a bit hesitant after hearing this.

However, Maya’s next words dispelled his doubts: ”The reason for the power struggle in the Ailie Duchy is not human error.”

In the prophecy, the young and strong new King of the Ailie Duchy, with an iron hand, went on a northern tour for the sake of the people and encountered a Transcendent incident in Shepherd Country. He met a group of resurrected undead and had part of his soul devoured, leading to his muddled awareness and inability to continue ruling.

Since he had no heirs, many princes coveted the throne, resulting in royal strife.

After hearing this, Rhein was no longer hesitant. Since it’s not human error but the work of undead, there’s no need to worry. They could simply eliminate these undead in advance, preventing any future troubles.

Of course, Rhein needn’t act personally; he could simply post a mission to eliminate the resurrected undead in the Task Hall, and someone would surely take it.

Besides this prophecy, there is another prophecy that might affect the Barbarian Cave.

This prophecy concerns the Gumman Kingdom.
