Chapter 1134: Section 1135: Heading to the Giant Tower

The Void Tower is the core of Lassudral, so no matter how much the outside world collapses, the Void Tower will definitely stand firm until the end.

By then, if the Night Innkeeper successfully ascends the throne, the seal will naturally be lifted. Even if not, it is said there are channels within the Void Tower that lead to other realms, and with the force of breaking through the void during teleportation, combined with his own strength, Fafnir felt he should be able to break the seal.

This was the reason Fafnir chose to go to the Void Tower.

Besides, Fafnir was actually quite curious, what exactly had happened inside the Void Tower?

“Pack up, we’re getting ready to leave.”

Speaking of packing, Angel didn’t actually have much else to pack. It was merely a matter of finalizing the recording in the Crystal Ball and then repacking the leftover Magic Marrow Meat into his bracelet to slowly regenerate.

Having done all this, Angel looked toward the direction of the Hunting Museum with some concern.

He naturally didn’t need to worry about the safety of the Night Innkeeper. He was concerned about Kanter’s situation; not long ago he had seen Kanter at the crossroads outside the Hunting Museum with a Scouting Puppet, and he wondered what choice they would ultimately make?

“Is the owner worried about the humans from before?” Canaan stepped forward and asked softly.

“I am a bit worried…” Angel unconsciously replied, then turned to Canaan and said, “Our little shop is almost finished, you don’t have to call me the owner anymore.”

“I quite like the identity of ‘Misty Cabin clerk’. Who knows, I might need it in the future.” Canaan’s mouth curved into a faint smile, “As for those humans the owner is worried about, when Lassudral truly starts to collapse, there will definitely be signs. With the strength of those wizards, they will surely detect it in advance and escape successfully.”

“Moreover, as the owner saw before, the human camp saw the sealing lines in the sky before coming to Lassudral, but even so, they still plunged into Lassudral from the Void. It seems that humans must have a way to leave. Who knows, in the end, we might have to rely on humans for our escape.”

The last sentence Canaan said was obviously a joke, but it made Angel realize something. His own strength was just enough to look after himself, worrying about True Knowledge Wizards who were countless times more powerful than himself was utterly unnecessary.

With the strength of a True Knowledge Wizard, there are always various self-preservation abilities. Moreover, Kanter, incarnated as the Queen of Night, has a well-known reputation for self-preservation in the entire Wizards’ Realm of the Southern Domain.

With this in mind, Angel shook his head and set aside these needless concerns.

“Is the identity of the Misty Cabin clerk that important?” Angel, remembering Canaan’s earlier words, asked out of curiosity.

“It is very important to me,” Canaan replied earnestly.

Angel was about to ask more, but Fafnir, standing atop the treetop, said, “If you want to be buried here, keep chatting, but I will leave now.”

Angel hurriedly said, “I’m coming now!” Although the core area wasn’t far, who knew if he would encounter demons along the way? Sticking close to Fafnir was naturally the best option.

As Angel ran towards Fafnir, he faintly heard Canaan’s question, “Will the owner ever open another Misty Cabin somewhere in the Abyss?”

Angel didn’t think much of it and casually said, “If there’s a chance.”

Angel didn’t think he would open another Misty Cabin, but there are no absolutes in this world. His response also left some room for the possibility.

Canaan, hearing this, laughed and said no more.

On the other hand, although Fafnir said he would leave first, when Angel came out, Fafnir was waiting for them at the door.

When Angel approached, he saw Fafnir looking in the direction of the Void Tower.

“Lord Fafnir, has something happened with the Void Tower?” Angel asked curiously.

“Nothing much, just saw some interesting scenes,” Fafnir didn’t explain but stretched leisurely and said to Angel, “It’s time to go.”

Accompanied by swirling sparks and the dwindling haze, Angel and the others slowly disappeared from view.

Only a lonely little cabin remained where they had been.

…

Speaking of which, previously Angel had used a Scouting Puppet to observe Lassudral’s landscape, now, walking it in person, he discovered many details he hadn’t noticed before.

He had never seen demons before, and though he still hadn’t seen any, standing here in person, there was always the illusion of danger looming behind him. It was clear that there must be demons hiding in the dark, and more than one at that.

Throughout their journey, the dangerous aura lurking in the streets did not diminish. Moreover, as they moved towards the core area, the sense of danger grew more intense.

Not only did Angel follow closely behind Fafnir, but even Canaan, who was a Half-Blood Demon, sensed that something was off and dared not lag a step behind.

“It seems that the consecutive upheavals in Lassudral have also started to make the demons hidden in the shadows anxious,” Angel mused, not knowing how many demons would still be alive when the final moment came.

Angel naturally didn’t care about the life or death of these demons, but suddenly he remembered another Half-Blood Demon he was more familiar with: “I wonder how Pulapa is doing now?”

“Pulapa works at the Hunting Museum, so there shouldn’t be any danger, right?” Canaan whispered back.

Indeed, that made sense. The Night Museum’s owner seemed to take good care of Pulapa, so if he was truly being looked after, Pulapa ought to be safe.

Soon, they arrived at the place where Kanter, Samantha, and Nitotipu had fought before.

Now, there were no rainclouds to obscure the view, but the humidity in the air nearby was significantly denser than elsewhere. Angel hadn’t noticed this when he used the Scouting Puppet before, but now, as he entered this area, he could faintly sense a strange aura.

A different wizard might not have given it much thought, but the oddness of this aura radiated a familiarity to Angel. Back in the Sleepless City, he was swallowed whole by the Dalmatian belonging to the Minister Dim of the Nightmare Realm. Inside the Dalmatian’s stomach, Angel had experienced many mysterious sensations, which later laid the foundation for him to create mystical figurative objects.

The remnants of the aura here had a similarly mysterious vibe.

Looking at this, Nitotipu’s umbrella was indeed a mysterious one, without a doubt.

Angel felt somewhat regretful; the lingering aura here was too scant. Otherwise, he might have tried to integrate it into the Illusionary Realm.

The buildings in this area bore signs of significant collapse, and many holes could be seen; it was clear how fierce the battle between Kanter and Samantha had been here.

While Angel looked around at the surrounding buildings with a contemplative gaze, he suddenly saw a patch of red light emanating from a distant building in a certain direction.

“Is that the Magma Pool?” Angel asked, pointing toward the area lit by the red glow.

Canaan nodded, “That’s right, it’s the Magma Pool. It’s usually the territory of the Purgatory Flame Slaves who forge weapons there. Those weapons are quite popular among the lesser demons… I visited there a few years back, intending to buy a suitable weapon, but the prices were too steep at the time; I couldn’t afford it and had to give up.”

Indeed, it was the Magma Pool. Angel remembered seeing Popota there before, but now he wondered where Popota was and what business he had in Lassudral. Or could it be that he was also part of the hunting plan?

“Owner?”

Engrossed in his thoughts, Angel hadn’t heard Canaan’s calls. It was only after he came back to his senses that he looked at Canaan, puzzled.

“Owner, do you seem very interested in the Magma Pool?”

Angel replied, “Not really, I can also forge weapons, so I’m quite curious about the demons’ crafting techniques.”

“By the way, didn’t you want a suitable weapon? If we have the chance to meet again and there’s no hostility between us, then I could forge one for you. Of course, it wouldn’t be free.”

Now, Angel didn’t bother to hide his human identity anymore. Before, he had to consider Canaan’s future situation in Lassudral and couldn’t speak openly. But now, with Lassudral nearly at its end, it hardly mattered whether he revealed himself or not.

“Then I’m indeed looking forward to meeting the owner again,” Canaan said.

As they spoke, Fafnir’s voice suddenly cut in, “It’s still uncertain whether we can survive this time, yet you are thinking about another reunion. Put aside your wishful thinking, prepare for battle.”

As she finished speaking, Fafnir suddenly stopped dead in her tracks.

From the lurking shadows, a horde of demons burst forth, surrounding them completely. The demons bore ferocious expressions, their burning gazes fixed on Angel.

As Angel stood bewildered, he heard a series of raucous shouts in the Demon Language.

“He’s the owner of that mystical shop, grab him!”

With that command, the demons, carrying a dreadful momentum, charged towards Angel.

It was only now that Angel realized the constant feeling of being watched was due to his identity… As the fight between humans and demons had reached a fever pitch, he had forgotten that for the demons, their own interests were the strongest motivator.

Fighting humans was merely a task or, put another way, the orders of the greater demons.

But if they captured Angel, the method that had awakened Pannas the Succubus might potentially be used on themselves. That was the greatest incentive for them!

He hadn’t anticipated that he would be the catalyst for this battle.

Angel looked at Fafnir with apologetic eyes, but at that moment, Fafnir paid no attention to Angel; instead, she gazed at the onrushing demons with a cold, mocking look.

With a light stomp, dozens of Wind Dragons rose from the ground, piercing the skies.

These Wind Dragons bore no resemblance to the ones Angel created with simple Tricks. They were saturated with a threatening, murderous aura and a terrifying energy storm.

Just that one move sent the approaching demons hurtling into the sky, leaving only a few with strong physical bodies falling back to the ground, barely alive.

The remaining demons that hadn’t joined the attack were startled by the sight.

Fearing another strike like that, they didn’t even have the courage to look directly at Fafnir and scrambled to flee in all directions.
