Warhammer Divine Throne

The Imperial Army hastily forms their ranks, many soldiers are not yet ready for battle.

In a rush, Umberto Prince-Elector immediately realizes that the plan they had discussed has failed, Casvan’s army has already descended the mountain ahead of schedule!

”Advance! Knights of Brittania! Tear the enemy apart! For the Lady!” Casvan stands within the army array, roaring towards his troops.

The knights blow the horn, and the hooves of their warhorses move. Ranger Knights form a cavalry lance formation, preparing to charge at the Imperial Army. Peasant Archers draw their short bows, firing volleys of both flaming and regular arrows from the ranks of the Brittania people, whistling towards the Imperial Army.

Many Imperial Swordsmen and Long Spear Soldiers are hit by the arrows, and dozens of soldiers immediately fall.

Faced with the sudden attack, the Imperial Army appears somewhat panic-stricken, jostling each other, their formations in disarray, as they look for their units, caught off guard by the Brittania Knights.

Seeing the wavering morale of the Imperial Army, Casvan shows a satisfied expression.

This is what he needed.

After convening a military meeting, the battle-hardened Duke Casvan immediately realized that the Imperial Army not only would not hold their ground but would instead actively attack because Carl Franz had this need.

And if a standoff were to continue for too long, it would be disadvantageous to the Emperor; he must actively attack, otherwise Casvan’s army, which came from afar, would be able to take enough time to rest.

Casvan immediately judged that the Empire would launch a preemptive attack at dawn, so the Duke had the accompanying Lake God Prophet cast a large-scale Divine Art—Goddess Mist. Relying on the cover of the mist, the army entered the battlefield, ready and waiting as the Imperial Army was still crossing the river.

The knights quickly broke through the first line of the Imperial Array. Those weak crossbowman units and Long Spear Soldiers were caught off guard and devastated by the knights’ charge. The first formation was quickly broken, and Brittania’s Ranger Knights swiftly shattered the Imperial Army’s defenses using cavalry lances.

”Oh! No!”

”Help!”

”Ahhh!”

Several infantry battalions and crossbowman companies in the first line of the Imperial Array had their morale crumble under the knights’ charge, screaming and scattering if the Ranger Knights pursued at this time, it would turn into a slaughter.

However, the Ranger Knights had received prior orders not to pursue these fleeing soldiers; they directly charged towards the second line of the Imperial Army.

According to Casvan’s plan, the knights should aim directly for the central army at this opportune moment. As long as they could break the Imperial line, victory would be imminent.

The battlefield situation, however, somewhat disappointed Casvan. Although the Imperial Army was somewhat chaotic, Umberto Prince-Elector’s command ability is not to be underestimated. This great Prince-Elector, upon realizing the situation, immediately commanded the Imperial Army to regroup and launch a counterattack.

The Rick Territory and Avey Territory are the Empire’s top two wealthy provinces, and these troops are the Emperor’s and Prince-Elector’s direct line. After a brief moment of confusion, they promptly reacted. The elite Great Swordsmen and Golden Fleece Knights commanded the remaining troops to form several formation lines.

Under the Prince-Elector’s call, the well-trained Imperial Army still quickly formed ranks. Musket Soldiers lined up in three rows, and crossbowmen and archers formed lines to launch an assault on the charging Brittania Army.

”Bang, bang, bang~” A row of musketeers fired a volley at the knights, the lead shot forming a barrage, and dozens of knights at the forefront instantly fell. The musket soldiers who finished firing immediately stepped back while reloading, and the remaining musket soldiers promptly moved up.

Yet none of this could form any deterrence against Brittania’s knights. The Ranger Knights shouted the name of the Lake Fairy, galloping across the battlefield, sweeping everything aside. The first line of the Imperial Array was utterly broken by the Ranger Knights.

”Charge! The Lady grants us strength and protection!” The remaining Peasant Infantry Corps charged into the Imperial Array under the guidance of their officers. A fierce melee began. Although the Brittania Peasant Infantry Corps was not as well-trained as the Imperial Army, with their lines broken, the Imperial Army had to engage in hand-to-hand combat with the Peasant Infantry Corps.

”The Lady protects me!!” A peasant infantry thrust a long spear into the chest of an Imperial Spear Soldier, but was immediately dismembered by an Imperial Swordsman nearby.

”Damn you! Mudborn from beyond the mountain!” An Imperial officer tried desperately to shift the tide, but realized he was surrounded by the tide of peasant infantry.

Several long spears pierced through his chest and abdomen, and then a cavalry lance from a knight pierced through his body from behind.

The first line of the Imperial Array began to collapse.

The Long Halberd Corps formed a tight formation, with sharp long halberds lined in several rows. Despite the Brittania Ranger Knights fiercely assaulting the second line, they were at the end of the crossbow. The volley from arrow and musket fire rained down like a locust swarm causing the Ranger Knights to fall from their horses.

Over two hundred Pistol Cavalry and Vanguard Knights flashed out from the imperial array’s flank. These troops are composed of students and noble sons from the Nuer Gunpowder Academy. In the Empire, all nobles value military merit. The majority of the great noble children are sent to Brunswick University or Nuer University to study. Many noble children enter the Pistol Cavalry Corps, hoping one day to be recognized and become an official knight.
