Warhammer Divine Throne

PS: Today is the sixty-ninth birthday of our motherland, happy birthday to our motherland!! I love my country!

PS2: To celebrate National Day, there will be two updates today, and the second one will be later in the evening.

Through hills, valleys, and lush forests, the cold wind in the forest penetrated the human army’s beast-skin cloaks and leather armor, piercing directly into their bodies.

A large group of human armies is shuttling through the forest, the Peasant Infantry Corps holding Long Spears and Longswords, advancing along the wild paths within the forest, trying to make as little noise as possible along the way. The arduous journey is a significant challenge for these peasants who usually don’t eat well, yet none of the infantry complain.

The soldiers long for the pay, for the loot, and for advancement, and war is the only means of promotion. No one wants to give up the chance to enlist, and all peasants dream of sending themselves or their sons into Count Laine’s army in exchange for a promotion opportunity.

In the dark lives of the peasants, this is the only light of hope: joining the Infantry Corps, being promoted to sergeant, obtaining the identity of a Free Person, then moving into a castle and becoming a professional soldier. Families would also have the chance to move into towns, escaping their peasant status.

The peasants are far more eager for war than the knights.

It is already the army’s second day in the forest, and they have successively wiped out three Beastman Warbands.

The forest is unsuitable for knightly charges; most knights are walking, while Wood Elves swiftly shuttle between woodland, and Dwarves complain incessantly. Those thick roots and thorns hinder their progress, and the dense fog obstructs their vision.

”Evil is always present in Charon Forest. Every night, goblins and Beastmen appear in the forest. They are wicked at heart, hating any living being. Goblins might play with their prey before killing it, while the Beastman’s mercy lies only in whether they take your life quickly or enjoy your struggle to death after cutting you in half.” Bertrand spoke to the group of Witch apprentices at Veronica’s request: ”But still, you can’t think that places outside the forest are safe. Many humans have inner darkness far surpassing these malicious creatures of the wild. This evil is not their nature but makes them more terrifying.”

Many Witch apprentices were frightened pale by the bandit leader’s tone, even Catherine, who had already become an Official Wizard. As for Veronica, she merely watched expressionlessly, a ball of flame and pale yellow light surrounding the Jialan Witch, allowing her to move unimpeded between the forest.

The knights’ topic was different. Kingdom Knight Hex stared at the silvery-white mist in the forest, feeling dizzy with each breath of cold air: ”Not far ahead is Lily Flower Island, where Your Majesty Arthur and Sir Marcus and Sir Sirulf met. There, Sir Marcus and Sir Sirulf saw the Lady, and she had them drink the Holy Grail Water. They became the second and third Holy Grail Knights. At that time, Arthur had only three hundred men, while the Green Skin Army had ten thousand. Yet ultimately, the victorious roar over the Green-skinned Army’s corpses was from Brittania! Sir Armand, you must have made a pilgrimage to Lily Flower Island?”

”Indeed, that’s where Brittania’s first Knight Brotherhood was established,” Armand said softly: ”The future form of the Holy Grail Knight Order.”

How glorious it is! The Holy Grail! The knights present all showed expressions of longing.

Silvery-white mist shrouded this peaceful forest, also concealing the endless forest land. Here lies the resting place of warriors who sacrificed in ancient times. Their bones are buried here, their souls sheltered, guarding their damp graves. The glory of past kings has long vanished, now leaving only ruins and rubble.

”I’m sorry to interrupt you, gentlemen.” At this moment, Half-Elf Estelle lightly leapt out from the woods and landed before everyone: ”We’ve discovered another Beastman Warband having a banquet.”

”Prepare to act!” Holy Grail Knight Armand nodded, and he directed the army to move slowly toward the destination. Angerong had already delegated all authority to command this army to him. Armand didn’t quite understand why, but he knew it was a mark of trust.

The army gradually approached the location scouted by the Wood Elves.

A light gradually emerged in the distance, an intoxicating amber light, seemingly bearing warmth and flame, causing this army advancing in the cold winter to feel a slight laxity. Some peasants’ gazes became somewhat blurry as they remembered the warmth of their rooms and the comfort of the fireplace.

The sound of swords being drawn bit into these Peasant Infantry like a viper, waking them almost instantly. Knights and leading sergeants inhaled deeply, signaling the peasants to prepare for battle.

The army drew closer and closer, hundreds of Peasant Infantry, clusters of sergeants and knights nearing the location of the light - a bonfire, an outcry filled with joy, accompanied by drumbeats lacking any artistic sense. The shouting grew louder.
