Warhammer Divine Throne

Though engaged, Laine and Surya won’t get married so quickly; preparing everything for the wedding will take at least two to three years, and it would take even longer if it were other nobility.

”How are the preparations going with Armand?” Laine asked Ollica.

”The army of fifteen hundred is ready; we’re just waiting for the rainy season to end, then we can set off. Miss Veronica is also prepared.” Ollica nodded: ”The Dwarves and the Wood Elves are already waiting; this is a rare combat opportunity, and everyone is taking it seriously.”

”Very good.” Laine nodded and smiled, ”If I’m not mistaken, she will be here shortly.”

”She?” Ollica asked, somewhat puzzled, as the room door sounded.

”Laine? It’s me.” The voice of the female sorcerer came from outside the door.

”Dear Teresa, come in.” Laine put down his mug and called toward the doorway.

The room door opened, and Teresa’s graceful figure appeared at the door. The female sorcerer’s cold yet charming face was lightly made up. She wore a thin snow-white chiffon blouse adorned with apricot flower carvings, paired with a wine-red lace collared plaid dress. Her perfect waistline was fully exposed before Laine. Underneath the skirt, long, straight legs wore black stockings, and the sorcerer’s proportioned black silk legs and beautiful black silk feet caught Laine’s gaze for a few extra moments.

Seeing Laine’s eyes fixated on her legs, Teresa’s face turned a bit red, but she still adjusted her black butterfly-patterned glasses: ”Laine, you wanted to see me?”

Laine pointed to the Wood Elf carpet on the ground, and Ollica immediately offered Teresa fuzzy slippers. Teresa bent down to untie the straps of her high heels, revealing toes painted with blue nail polish on her stockinged feet. Her casual actions exuded endless charm, and at thirty years old, Teresa was at the most beautiful time of a female spellcaster’s life.

”Ollica, you can leave now; I want to discuss something with Teresa,” Laine said, standing to welcome Teresa, and the Dark Elf obliged, exiting the room.

”Laine...” Teresa noticed Laine’s gaze lingering on her, feeling quietly delighted.

Without speaking, Teresa pondered for a long time upon receiving Laine’s request to meet and decided to dress up especially.

”Teresa, sit down.” Laine gestured for the female sorcerer to take a seat beside him, where two cups of red tea were already brewed on the small table, along with the Fairy-created elf blueberry cake with Laine: ”Speaking of which, since staying at the Nord Mijordenhaven inn, we haven’t chatted leisurely like this for a long time.”

”You know, Laine, I thought you’d forgotten the times we adventured together.” Teresa’s silver eyes gazed at Laine’s seemingly smiling face, speaking with slight displeasure: ”I heard you arranged Veronica and her apprentice to participate in this winter offensive?”

”Yes, this war won’t be too dangerous. Beastman Tribes and Green Skin Tribes in Charon Forest have been cleared out many times by my brother Angerong. In this cold season, the fighting capacity of Beastman and Green Skin Tribes is quite low. This is a perfect opportunity to gain valuable combat experience,” Laine put down his tea cup and directed his gaze at Teresa: ”Speaking of which, Teresa, what are your plans? Are you really planning to build a Wizard Tower in my territory? What about the Jialan Council?”

Teresa raised her attractive eyebrows, having a sense of why Laine was always somewhat concerned about her.

Veronica has always been single, able to devote herself entirely to Laine without concerns, unlike Teresa, the daughter of Elder Aurora, which made Laine worry about her fleeting interest.

”My mother and Speaker Margarita have reached an agreement on certain matters,” Teresa lifted her head, her ample softness shaking faintly behind her blouse: ”Jialan will set up a branch here, and both I and Veronica will reside permanently with you.”

Laine considered that Elder Aurora and Speaker Margarita were not from the same faction, were they?

”Laine, you’ve grown so rapidly. The Council once predicted you could rise to Count within ten years, but it’s just your third year in Brittania.” It was clear that Teresa understood Laine’s doubts, the female sorcerer spoke gently: ”Trust me, Laine.”

”Of course, I trust you, dear Teresa. Without you bravely confronting Manfred during our infiltration into Musillon, we would have died there. I’ve always trusted you,” Laine shook his head gently, acknowledging Teresa’s dedication, which he witnessed: ”However, I still won’t let you accompany the army on this expedition, as I have another task for you.”

”Another task?” Teresa asked curiously.

”This winter, stay in the guest room on the third floor,” Laine handed a thick book to Teresa: ”Over these months, I want to teach you the High Gothic Language. A female courtier unable to speak High Gothic Language will face many difficulties in the future.”

”Who said I wanted to be your female courtier?” The female sorcerer’s face blushed deeply from Laine’s unexpected statement, but her words were merciless: ”Before meeting you, I thought you were a gentleman, but you turned out to be a flirtatious guy.”

”I told you, I’ve always been a ’gentleman,’” Laine retorted: ”Don’t impose those church priests’ ’universal values’ on me that demand unwavering devotion and being eternally honest. I’m not that and never was~ Many people in this world create a naive image for Holy Grail Knights, then try to apply it to me; when it doesn’t fit, they’re greatly disappointed. But I never was, and never will be that kind of person.”

”Holy Grail Knights are Living Saints, indeed, but our only criteria for actions and decisions are our own understanding of the Eight Virtues of Chivalry. Many enjoy enforcing their shallow interpretations upon us, but the Holy Grail never lies.”

”Haha~” The female sorcerer couldn’t help but laugh, ”So you refused my partner’s proposal repeatedly during our travels too? At that time, you were dedicated? And then you got engaged to the Duke’s daughter?”

”Adhering to contractual principles is a separate matter, don’t confuse them together.” Laine chuckled: ”So, stay here safely for these months, and once you’ve mastered the High Gothic Language, we’ll discuss building your Wizard Tower.”

”Alright, but I need your full support like Veronica gets!” Teresa’s heart felt stirred by the thought of spending the entire winter with Laine, her slender legs wrapped in black stockings gently shaking. She presented her condition: ”Full support, with no reservations.”

”Certainly, I promise,” Laine nodded: ”In these months, I will impart many things to you—some you know, some you don’t, and even some unimaginable. Teresa, I’ll ask you one last time, have you really made up your mind? Once you learn these things, you can only be my female courtier in the future.”

”If I didn’t want to, I wouldn’t have chased you to your territory,” Teresa softly replied. ”Do you know how much courage it takes for a proud Jialan female member of parliament to pursue a man in his territory?”

”That’s by your standards,” Laine said tenderly, ”I understand, I understand completely.”

”Also... I want that too!” Teresa’s tone changed, her always proud and cold face now flushed with redness: ”Veronica told me that you could carve a ’Spirit Rune’ on your own woman...”
