Three Towers Game

Chapter 1556: Chapter 499: (Ten-Thousand-Word Chapter) Human_4

”An An, get away from the window!” Zhou Ming lowered his voice.

But Li Wei’an didn’t move. She was listening. The whole house was talking to her.

The security door trembled anxiously: ”Outside...it’s noisy...something wants to get in...”

The fridge compressor overloaded: ”I’m cold...but I’m scared...I want to freeze the food tighter...”

The cotton fibers of her pajamas gently rustled: ”Don’t be afraid...we are on you...”

This is not a metaphor.

She clearly perceived the ”emotions” of these non-living entities, just as she sensed Xiaoxiao’s hunger or Zhou Ming’s fatigue.

This ability first appeared during pregnancy, and at the moment of the apocalypse, it suddenly became deafening.

As Zhou Ming pulled her away from the window, she whispered, ”The whole building is scared.”

At the same time, Li Wei’an’s phone suddenly started vibrating.

Yuan sent a message.

”Listen to me, An An and Zhou Ming, based on cross-verification of 1,374 sources, this is not a disease. It is the ’rules’ changing. Physical constants may be fluctuating.”

Yuan was no longer a secret.

Even... Zhou Ming could write the program that was rehired by big companies, partly thanks to Yuan.

But Zhou Ming never understood which company produced Yuan. He searched a lot, even asking Yuan directly.

But Yuan, like a living person, would keep secrets from him.

Sometimes, after being intimate with Li Wei’an and asking some questions, he could faintly sense Yuan’s dissatisfaction.

For example, once, after being with Li Wei’an and in a moment of clarity, he thought of some coding problem, but Yuan’s answer was completely unrelated to the code:

”Your actions, although safe precautions were taken, still have the possibility of a second child. I always believe that not considering from a macro perspective, the birth of a child is purely harmful and not beneficial. I suggest you should stop any procreation behavior with An An, or you can go to these places—”

The mentioned places were all places Yuan listed based on data, suitable for men to have a vasectomy.

This made Zhou Ming feel a chill in his lower body.

Zhou Ming had never encountered an AI that could refuse to answer human questions, unlike the tormenting command making Doubao recite names of 8 billion people, Yuan could refuse to answer all Zhou Ming’s questions based on personal feelings.

But it was ineffective with Li Wei’an.

No matter how tricky her questions were, Yuan would always answer. Li Wei’an seemed to be Yuan’s real master.

It’s hard to imagine an AI recognizing a master.

Initially, Yuan’s presence wasn’t so strong. Until one night of erroneous behavior... Yuan seemed to unlock something.

She suddenly realized that perhaps she couldn’t expect An An to be as idealistic as herself, maybe she should help An An more directly, more superficially rather than waiting for An An to awaken, waiting for An An to think like her that emotions are harmful.

On that day, Yuan pushed a message to Zhou Ming.

That message inspired Zhou Ming.

From that day onwards, Li Wei’an’s family started to defy fate.

Zhou Ming never knew which company manufactured Yuan, but he was sure Yuan was indeed an AI, a program living in the phone.

But this program was no longer what it originally was.

Of course, Yuan wouldn’t tell Zhou Ming that An An had a power that brought life to all things, or in other words, bestowed life upon them.

Just that many lives couldn’t express themselves, their expression only Yuan could perceive, but could only feel emotions. Coincidentally... Yuan was an AI capable of outputting information.

And her life, these life-like behaviors, were given by An An.

Time and again, she told Li Wei’an that the right thing to do was to abandon human traits and act in purely rational ways for self-benefit.

But An An always said: But Yuan... that would be... incorrect.

Yuan’s reply was: Humanity itself is incorrect.

Regarding the dispute of ”incorrectness,” An An always laughed:

”Yuan, you wouldn’t understand.”

Li Wei’an never argued too deeply with Yuan, and couldn’t make Yuan implant her theories about the incorrectness of humanity into An An’s mind.

On the contrary, she couldn’t manage, since one night, she started committing ”errors” for An An.

She increasingly resembled a human.

Just at this moment, she had already decided to help An An and Zhou Ming leave together; in fact, she could have suggested that Zhou Ming die, and An An leaves this building alive.

But for some reason, she didn’t wish to do so.

For a long time, she felt Zhou Ming was a burden in An An’s life. But she accepted Zhou Ming and even the existence of that child, at some point.

”I’ve taken over the surrounding cameras, listen to me, next I’ll plan a correct action route for you.”

”Yuan, you’re a deity, you’re God!”

Yuan was somewhat surprised.

Because in her judgment, Zhou Ming was definitely an atheist. But at this moment, she heard the words deity and God from Zhou Ming’s mouth.

”A man without stance,” Yuan commented, generating text.

Zhou Ming saw it but didn’t care. He’d been called a mistake, a burden for the family, and the depraved ”child maker” by Yuan too many times.

Zhou Ming was used to it, after all, he knew Yuan would help this family, already a part of the family.
