Three Towers Game

Chapter 1400: Chapter 447: A Different Leon

Sagittarius was silent for a while:

”I seem to... have no last words. I only know I want to live, but over the years, I seem to have lived... on the fringes.”

”Why not just kill me? Leon, are you trying to humiliate me?”

Leon said:

”What right do you have to be humiliated by me?”

This sentence made Sagittarius somewhat angry.

But right now, he actually doesn’t even have the right to be angry.

It must be said that the plague among the Four Great Guards has very powerful strength, though it was Sagittarius who fell victim in a weakened and unconscious state.

But now, as he wakes, it will take some time to break through the negative attributes the plague sowed in his body.

At this time, he simply cannot be Leon’s opponent.

Sagittarius wants to survive; those living on the edges have their desires too.

”Are you sure you have no last words? No thoughts of the past, no plans to reminisce, no intention to repent to me? If indeed you have none, then you may die.”

Leon raised his hand, and at this moment, Sagittarius felt he really would die.

Maybe his death will be a turning point for the world, will make Leon stronger, will end this apocalypse.

Will it?

He longs to survive, wants to find a way to ensure his survival. But because of this, his thoughts are chaotic, his mind overwhelmed with many ideas.

Watching all this, Leon felt a bit disappointed.

Did he really think I was going to kill him?

Indeed, Sagittarius truly believed he would be killed by Leon, as it seems all the signs yearn to kill Leon.

So in their perspective, Leon killing them is reasonable too.

Leon smiled helplessly.

Seeing Archer somewhat panicked in the face of death, he suddenly... felt a sense of regret, also a touch of loneliness.

He had made his words clear, had he repented to me, perhaps I would consider sparing him.

Leon said:

”Do you remember childhood, back then you were also on the fringes. Archer, you were somewhat ungregarious.”

”At that time, we seemed to be in a special space, before receiving our respective missions and powers, that church, though sealed... though inescapable, in the end, we had some camaraderie.”

”The priest would bring some toys; the toys you received were always the fewest. Aquarius liked to snatch away your toys.”

”Big sister disdained those games, always loved reading books. Jia Yuan liked to bully you because you always seemed easy to bully.”

Archer hadn’t expected, at the brink of his death, Leon would suddenly become calm, not so wild, nor so arrogant, like an old acquaintance, calmly recounting the past.

He said:

”Didn’t you also once bully me? You mocked me, said I was cowardly, said I was like an insect, trapped inside a circle drawn by an invisible pen, unable to escape.”

In Archer’s words, there was some resentment, perhaps because he realized death was inevitable, he strangely no longer feared Leon:

”You want me to repent to you, how arrogant. Leon, who should really repent to whom?”

Leon was slightly stunned.

Unexpectedly, Sagittarius had become so sharp; he said:

”Back then, you indeed were quite cowardly. I thought... I was helping you.”

Leon seemed to have curbed the Lion’s sharpness; his words were no longer mockery and insult, nor arrogance and recklessness.

But this sentence, like a sharp blade, pierced through Archer.

”I thought... I was helping you.”

Archer had never considered such a possibility.

Leon said:

”It seems, Being isolated and disliked by you all isn’t entirely based on interests and calculations, not entirely because of my power, maybe... it’s because my personality is inherently quite hate-worthy, isn’t it?”

Archer was silent; he had never seen this side of Leon.

Leon continued:

”I greatly miss those times, everyone trapped in there like chosen ones; though no blood ties existed, each indeed accepted a survival rule — we would be the most closely-knit brothers and sisters.”

”In that church, the flow of time seemed different from outside; I thought we spent a long time together.”

”At that time, we hadn’t accepted... or were unaware of each other’s fate.”

”I thought, I should be the leader. Books said, Leos are arrogant and self-important, liking to be leaders.”

”I tried to change you all, but reflecting now, I only persuaded you through mockery and arrogance.”

Archer did not deny:

”Yes, you possessed strong power; in your perspective who you are, I don’t know, but in ours, you are a... tyrant.”

Leon actually laughed:

”Hmm, a tyrant, huh? That’s not incorrect either.”

”Thinking, if everyone were eternally trapped in there, I had to find a way to make things better, I had to... change something. But I couldn’t find anything specific, nor could I find a reason. That time, the only ways I resorted to were juvenile and crude... to seek a sense of presence.”

”That indeed made me like a tyrant.”

Archer actually didn’t understand, why Leon would say these things; the violent Conqueror, the one who disdained everything in childhood, at this moment seemed like a different person.

”What do you really want to say? Are you hoping that at my end, I ought to realize your past actions were for my benefit? You truly are... ever more arrogant.”

Leon’s gaze began to slowly lose some warmth, as was his tone:

”Nothing much, just some of my thoughts. I’ve always wanted to change something, but like I said, I couldn’t find a reason.”
