Three Towers Game

Compared to previous times with weak presence, the Scorpion Knife finally has a high presence attribute.

The knife brought Wen Xishu a game bonus this round, which is the ”Proficiency System.”

In many games, skills increase proficiency as long as they are used; the realizations, insights, and bottlenecks in real life are absent in the game. You repeatedly use skills, and the skills will enhance proficiency, eventually increasing level.

Wen Xishu is like this this time—

”All used skills will increase proficiency upon hitting enemies in this scene (defense skills require the player to take enemy damage). If the proficiency progress bar is breached, the skill will be enhanced. Depending on the enhancement effect, the progress bar effect will differ. Note, if the completion performance is excellent, there’s a possibility that the evolved skill will be permanently retained. The higher the completion rating, the higher the possibility of permanent retention attributes.”

This can be called a god-level support.

”As long as I play through the Deceit Tower stages thoroughly, maybe I can turn extreme kicks, or some other skill enhancement effect, into a permanent existence, and not just a scene-special supply.”

Wen Xishu gained motivation. Because he can buff attributes now.

Whether it’s Perfect Bounce, Bullet Screen, Extreme Kick, or Confession Ascend, as long as he can upgrade them, he feels this journey is worth it.

”But the condition is that all skills must hit enemies to increase proficiency; in this way, nearly only combat skills can be enhanced.”

”My Anti-Magic Value, thanks to several high-profile rounds, should be up to standard, but even so, I fear many powerful monsters will appear. After all, the monster arrangement logic of Deceit Tower is different from Slaughter Tower.”

Wen Xishu contemplated, knowing this aid was considerable but wasn’t careless due to it.

After staying in the rest area for a few minutes, since it’s deep night, the rest area had few people choosing this time to climb the tower, Wen Xishu didn’t encounter any acquaintances.

He no longer delayed, started the login device.

The sixteenth exploration of Deceit Tower began.

...

...

Unknown land, Balance Tavern.

”Oh, commanding officer, we finally waited for you. You are... Hmm, more handsome and younger than we imagined.”

A rough man’s voice came. Wen Xishu’s vision gradually became clear. What entered his eyes was the bar counter under the warm yellow light of the tavern.

The bartender was mixing drinks, and by the bar, a large man was turning to look at the entrance. The big guy had hair comparable to Guile from Street Fighter, with well-developed muscles all over.

Wen Xishu immediately saw some game-like panels.

[Aptitude: C+]

[Name: Colonel Devon]

[Description: A warrior skilled with firearms and twenty-three fighting techniques from around the world. Passionate personality, enjoys drinking.]

The game panel didn’t stem from any prop assist but from the rules of the level.

Wen Xishu instantly caught a strong ”Scorpio vibe.”

”Welcome to Balance Tavern.” Colonel Devon walked towards Wen Xishu, leading Wen Xishu to the bar.

Wen Xishu noticed there were three gazes looking at him.

”Oh, let me introduce, Cavendish, a sniper, his marksmanship is much more accurate than mine.”

[Aptitude: C]

[Name: Cavendish]

[Description: Doesn’t love to talk, but in critical moments, he is reliable, will risk his life for teammates. Often criticized by Colonel Devon for being ”too sentimental.”]

Cavendish was a young man, head lowered, with hair covering one eye, exposing only one.

He said somewhat timidly:

”Com... Commander, hello, hope you can lead us to escape. Thank you very much. If there’s any place you can use me, please give the order.”

Wen Xishu felt it was strange.

This beginning... Doesn’t need any socializing?

What kind of scene would be in Desire Tower then? These people seem to have directly maxed out their favorability towards him.

Right from the start, they can already serve him.

Wen Xishu originally thought this Balance Tavern’s difficulty mainly lies in two aspects. The first aspect, naturally, is combat, using reasonable personnel to clear various levels.

But this also appears to be the second difficulty, how to utilize reasonably? Naturally, recruitment is needed. Past experience shows that the persistent NPCs in Deceit Tower have flesh and blood; if you ask them to die, they won’t go and might regard you as the enemy.

However, this time, Wen Xishu’s entry point directly is ”commanding officer.”

And judging from Colonel Devon and Cavendish’s attitudes, they seem to very much need him and are very obedient, just waiting for his command.

The third person is the same, the third is a woman.

[Aptitude: C+.]

[Name: Elsa.]

[Description: A gentle and resilient girl possessing certain healing abilities, please protect her. In battle, she can perform simple healing, and during tavern rounds, she can enhance recovery stats.]

Wen Xishu first needs to figure out what the situation is.

”How do you know I am the commanding officer?” Wen Xishu looked at Devon.

Devon laughed and said:

”Because the first guidance we received upon arriving here was—the next one coming will be the person who can lead us out of Balance Forbidden Land.”

”You are our hope, commander. Although I’ve always been the one commanding others, I trust in you. I will unconditionally follow all your arrangements. So please lead us out of the Balance Forbidden Land!”
