The Wizard Has A Biochip

[Beep!]

[Insufficient data.]

[It is necessary to analyze the foods available in this world to determine their nutritional composition.]

[Once the analysis is complete, it will be possible to formulate a diet suited to the host’s objectives.]

[Without this information, an accurate answer cannot be provided.]

...

[Note: If the available foods possess a nutritional composition compatible with the host’s physiological requirements, supplementation may be partially replaced with a conventional diet.]

[However...]

[The required intake will be extremely high.]

[Estimate: The host will need to consume an amount of food comparable to that of a professional bodybuilder over an extended period.]

That’s not a problem.

My father paid a fortune for me to study in this tower.

The former George’s memories confirmed it.

The acolytes’ meals were already included in the tuition.

I wouldn’t have to spend a single extra coin.

I just had to show up at the dining hall at the proper times.

Then it’s settled.

—At lunch, analyze every available food.

—After that, formulate a diet focused exclusively on muscle growth and physical recovery.

[Beep.]

[Command registered.]

I nodded in satisfaction.

One problem solved.

Then...

My nose finally picked up something else.

I immediately frowned.

I lowered my gaze to my own arms.

The black residue expelled during the training had partially dried.

Aside from how unpleasant it looked...

The smell was terrible.

I raised one of my arms.

Then immediately moved it away from my face.

It really is awful.

I walked over to the old wooden chest in the corner of the room.

I lifted the lid.

Inside were several neatly folded changes of clothes.

I picked up a clean pair of pants.

A shirt.

A towel.

Then I searched until I found a small bar of soap wrapped in a piece of cloth.

I closed the chest again.

I picked up the key.

I opened the door.

Click~~

I stepped into the hallway.

I closed the door behind me again.

Then I started walking toward the communal bathhouse.

I hadn’t even taken ten steps.

Before the first students began reacting.

A young man walking in the opposite direction suddenly stopped.

His nose wrinkled.

—What is that smell?

Another student walked past me.

He immediately covered his face with a hand.

—By the gods...

—It smells like something died.

I kept walking as if nothing had happened.

The farther I went...

The more people noticed.

Then a skinny boy appeared right in front of me.

He took a normal breath.

The very next second...

His face turned completely green.

—Urgh...

He clamped both hands over his mouth.

He tried to hold it back.

He couldn’t.

—Blergh!

He vomited onto the hallway floor.

I stopped walking.

I looked at him.

Then I looked at the fresh puddle on the floor.

I rolled my eyes.

—You really didn’t have to overreact.

The boy slowly raised his head.

His eyes were full of tears.

He was breathing through his mouth.

He pointed a trembling finger at me.

—Dude...

—You stink so bad...

He took another breath.

—...that the smell reminds me of two homeless men who haven’t bathed in months, having sex.

I remained silent for a few seconds.

Then I simply shook my head.

—So sensitive...

I resumed walking.

A short while later...

I arrived at the bathhouse.

I quickly stepped inside.

The place was practically empty.

I headed toward one of the individual shower stalls.

I pulled the curtain shut.

Completely enclosing the space.

I placed the towel on a small wooden rack.

Then I began taking off my clothes.

As soon as my shirt fell to the floor...

The black layer coating my skin became even more apparent.

I turned the shower handle.

Soon...

Water began cascading over my body.

It was cold.

But incredibly refreshing.

I picked up the bar of soap.

I rubbed it between my hands until it formed a rich lather.

Then I carefully began washing my arms.

The foam quickly turned dark.

Thick black streams washed away with the water and disappeared down the drain.

After finishing my bath, I turned off the shower and dried myself with the towel.

I put on a clean set of clothes.

As soon as I stepped out of the stall, I felt several pairs of eyes fall on me.

This time, however, no one wrinkled their nose.

I smiled faintly.

At least I was no longer a walking biological weapon.

I calmly returned to my dormitory.

I unlocked the door with the key.

I stepped inside.

I folded my dirty clothes and placed them into a small wooden hamper beside the chest.

According to the former George’s memories, one of the tower’s servants came by every day to collect the laundry.

One less thing to worry about.

I sighed.

Then I walked over to the bed.

I lay down on my back.

I folded my hands behind my head.

That morning’s training had been brief, but awakening my vital energy had consumed an absurd amount of energy.

Before I realized it...

I had drifted off to sleep.

When I woke up again, the sun was already much higher in the sky.

It was time for lunch.

I slowly got to my feet.

My stomach immediately protested.

Ruuumble~~

I placed a hand on my stomach.

—All right...

—I get it.

As I walked out of my room, a thought lingered in my mind.

The circulation of vital energy had increased my appetite dramatically.

Did every knight go through this?

If that was true...

Then training didn’t depend solely on talent.

It also depended on having the means to obtain enough food.

Back on Earth, that would have been simple.

But in this medieval world...

Only nobles had consistent access to protein-rich meals.

According to the memories, the hierarchy of this world was crystal clear.

At the very top...

The mages.

Beings capable of manipulating the fundamental forces of reality.

Just below them...

The knights.

Warriors who strengthened their bodies through vital energy.

Only after them came ordinary people.

Farmers.

Merchants.

Craftsmen.

Soldiers.

The gap between those classes seemed as vast as the distance between heaven and earth.

A short while later, I entered the dining hall once again.

The line had already formed.

I picked up an empty tray.

Then I patiently waited for my turn.

When I reached the front of the serving counter...

The enormous gray-skinned servant was still standing behind the cauldron.

As soon as he saw me, he lifted the ladle.

—Soup?

I didn’t answer right away.

Instead, I looked at the steaming liquid.

I gave a subtle nod.

Then I smiled at the cook.

—Thank you.

—But I’ll pass today.

He merely shrugged.

I continued down the serving line.

There was a wide variety of food.

[Analyzing...]

A few seconds later...

The Biochip completed all of its calculations.

[Suggested Diet]

[Recommendation]

[Meat: High quantity.]

[Eggs: High quantity.]

[Rice and potatoes: Abundant intake.]

[Vegetables: Moderate.]

[Natural fats: Small portions.]

[Water: High intake.]

Without wasting any time...

I began assembling that exact meal.

More meat.

More eggs.

More rice.

More potatoes.

My tray quickly became absurdly heavy.

The cooks began glancing at me discreetly.

One of them stopped what he was doing.

He was an elderly man with completely white hair.

He wore a large chef’s hat.

A spotless apron covered his clothes.

In his right hand, he held a long iron spatula.

He walked over.

He looked at my tray.

Then at me.

—Young man...

He let out a small chuckle.

—Planning to feed the entire dining hall?

I smiled.

—No.

—I’m just very hungry.

He folded his arms.

—Very hungry... or very bold?

I raised an eyebrow.

—What do you mean?

The old man carefully studied my face.

Then his gaze moved to my neck.

Finally...

He smiled.

—That rosy tint to your skin...

—I’ve seen it many times before.

My expression remained calm.

He continued.

—You awakened your vital energy recently.

I nodded.

—I started practicing my family’s breathing technique.

—Today.

The old man fell silent for several seconds.

His smile faded.

A nostalgic look appeared in his eyes.

—I see...

He looked down at his own hands.

Weathered by the passage of time, he murmured to himself.

—If only I had been born into a noble family...

—Perhaps I would have learned a technique like that as well, instead of wasting my entire life...

—Only to end up as a servant with no future.

He let out a quiet laugh.

One without any joy.

I remained silent.

There wasn’t much I could say.

He soon smiled again.

This time, it was genuine.

He picked up another large piece of meat.

Then discreetly placed it on my tray.

—Eat well.

—Training on an empty stomach is the worst mistake a knight can make.

I gave a slight nod.

—Thank you.

I firmly gripped the tray, now considerably heavier, and began walking through the dining hall.

Before long, I spotted Helena.

She was sitting in the same place as she had that morning.

But this time...

She wasn’t alone.

Four other young people were seated at the table.
