The Cyclops’ response showed how important Sanzi’s preparation work was. If he had communicated with the Cyclops spiritually right away, the suspicious, irritable, simple-minded Cyclops who was in severe pain would surely panic and send a rock flying his way!

“Very, very bad. Painful. Can’t breathe.”

“I can help you. Let me take a closer look, okay? See, I’m so weak. I’m not much more threatening than a worm. Even if you and your child lie down unmoving, I can’t do any harm to you,” persuaded Sanzi in a low, gentle voice.

The Cyclops inspected Sanzi while enduring her torment and felt that what he said was true. He could not be any weaker. He was so weak that she could easily pinch him to death. She did not voice any objection and continued to take difficult breaths.

Sanzi came close to the Cyclops while forcing himself to ignore her stench. Although Sheyan had only given him the Ukiyo-e a few hours ago, he had long worked out the series of measures he would take to tame a legendary creature in case he ever come across one. Nerds knew that they would probably never go out with Megan Fox, but that would not stop them from fantasizing what they would do if they get to spend a night with her.

Sanzi performed the first move with practised familiarity as he had rehearsed this many times in his mind. The first thing to do was to alleviate the pain of the creature. This was actually not that difficult and did not require much effort on Sanzi’s part. As long as he had enough utility points, a myriad of medicine was available to him.

Sanzi smeared some ointment on the Cyclops’ visibly swollen neck. The monster soon let out a pleasant hum. Unfortunately, this ointment could only alleviate the pain and could not help the Cyclops infant stuck in the mother’s throat.

At this time, Sanzi also found that the Cyclops newborn was not born in the form of a baby, but in an egg that had the texture and colour of a rock. The egg was not rounded or oval in shape, but was instead formed of many flat surfaces. It looked very sturdy, even a little metallic. No wonder it was so hard to give birth to the egg through the throat.

Perhaps the last pregnancy caused too great a blow to the mother Cyclops, because Sanzi noticed after inspecting her closely that the size of the offspring was not 50% bigger than normal as Old Charlie had guessed, but more than double the size of a normal offspring. A normal childbirth was definitely impossible.

By this time, Sanzi had gained the trust of the female Cyclops by relieving her pain. The trust was able to be built thanks to Sanzi’s amazing Charm, expensive medicines, and his meticulous preparation. All three of these elements were indispensable.

Sanzi moved on to the next step. He told the Cyclops about her current condition, and then told her bluntly, “My compatriot, you’re in a very tough predicament right now. Both you and your child are probably going to die. I have only one way to help you. If you fell that you’re being tricked, you can kill me any time…”

This mother Cyclops had already experienced a failed childbirth before, so she was desperate. She could not really understand Sanzi’s proposal with her simple brain. The simple ideas running through her mind was: weak, harmless, painless, solution, able to speak the language of her own species, trust….

With the voluntary cooperation of the Cyclops, Sanzi administered anesthetic on her. Then, he took out Sheyan’s ‘+13 West’ and made a cut on the neck of the Cyclops. Of course, he did not cut the neck horizontally like he was killing someone, but made a vertical cut which avoided the major blood vessels and trachea.

The throat of the female Cyclops had already swelled to a size that was almost as large as her head. The skin was stretched really tight, showing signs of edema. Blood and the accumulated body fluid flowed down after Sanzi made the cut, relieving the pressure the mother Cyclops felt at that spot.

The pain reflex of the Cyclopes had always been rather dull. If their death came too quickly, they would not even feel the pain before death claimed them, just like the meme widely acclaimed cultural article “omae wa mou shindeiru”. Therefore, this level of pain was nothing to her.

When the incision was long enough, the giant rock-egg rolled out by itself as if it could not wait to see this world, bringing along with it a lot of body fluid and blood. The wound on her neck was pretty serious even for a fearsome 8th-tier legendary creature, but the first reaction of the mother Cyclops was to let out a blurry cry of joy. She cautiously held the child in her arms.

Next, she immediately dug a pit with her biological power and buried the abnormally large rock-egg inside. She then started to sincerely pray for Mother Earth to bestow her child with power. While she did this, blood flowed down even more rapidly from her neck, but she completely ignored it and only prayed earnestly.

Amidst her prayers, the soil in front gradually rose and hardened into a simple but ancient altar which was full of a primitive, barbaric vibe. The abnormally large rock-egg was lying on the altar.

It appeared the myth that the bigger a Cyclops infant was, the easier it would gain the favour of Mother Earth was not a lie. A layer of green light which seemed almost solid started revolving around the giant rock-egg. From a distance, the green light looked like a pair of benevolent palms.

This was a rare miracle among the Cyclopes.

Normally, when a Cyclops was born and buried in the ground, there would just be a roar or two before the baby Cyclops burrow its way out of the soil. If an altar was formed, it meant that it had gained Mother Earth’s attention, and if the palm-shaped light appeared on top of that, it was a rare grace that could hardly be seen once in a thousand years.

This meant that although the mother of the little fellow had reached her limit after becoming an 8th-tier legendary creature, it was possible for the child to step into the realm of a 10th-tier demigod!

According to myths, the only treatment higher than this was Mother Earth appearing in person to bestow her blessings, which had only ever happened to the legendary Cyclops King Polyphemus. Of course, it would be unrealistic for that to happen here.

When the green light palms of Mother Earth disappeared, the giant rock-egg on the altar started to crack, and finally, a two-headed little Cyclops with dark skin and natural war marks on its body appeared in front of everyone!! It was not yet the time for it to open its eyes. It fed on the eggshell out of instinct and then fell into a deep sleep.

The mother Cyclops was so excited that she started crying. Teardrops the size of ping pong balls slid down her face incessantly. She wrapped the baby in an extremely smelly piece of greyish-white leather, then took out the meat she had salted and chewed it in her mouth to prepare food for her child.

But by now, the neck injury and childbirth fatigue finally crept in. Sanzi, who had won the trust of the mother Cyclops, treated her neck wound and gave her a sweet, cool liquid to drink…. The mother Cyclops was soon knocked down by the combined effect of alcohol, anesthetics and childbirth fatigue. She snored like thunder.

Sheyan and the rest could finally heave a sigh of relief. They approached Sanzi carefully. By the time they reached Sanzi, he had already successfully formed a pact with the two-headed little Cyclops. After all, the little creature had no intention of resisting at all, and it was only a 1st-tier legendary creature right now.

Sheyan covered his nose as he took the two-headed little Cyclops from Sanzi for a closer look. Zi found the stench so unbearable that she was close to running away.

Sheyan frowned and asked, “I thought only the male Cyclopes are proud of their body odour. Why does the female stink so much too?”

“If I’m guessing correctly, the odour comes from the leather the female Cyclops wore and from the leather wrapped around the little Cyclops. These leather should come from the skin of a powerful male Cyclops,” answered Sanzi.

“The male Cyclops in this family had probably died for some reason, but because the female Cyclops had deep feelings for him and hoped that he’ll still be with her and her children, she stripped his skin and ate his flesh so that his body and soul lived on with them. The male Cyclops should have been really strong when he was alive; that was how the female Cyclops could reach the 8th-tier after eating him.”

“No wonder I got her gender wrong when I first encountered her. It’s because of her smell,” Sheyan suddenly realised.

Zi appeared to be quite stunned at this piece of information. Such a brutal custom was completely unheard of for her. However, Sheyan expressed his understanding. He pointed out as an example the mating habit of mantises. After mating, if the female mantis lacked nutrition, the male mantis would “offer himself” as food for his wife and his children. Similar practices were also common among the Earth’s cannibalistic tribes. He was thus not that surprised.

The eight-minute time limit was almost up. In order to comfort the poor female Cyclops, Sanzi wrote a lie that Mother Earth had taken away the two-headed little Cyclops. It should be able to reduce the mother’s grief somewhat.

In truth, if it wasn’t for Sanzi, the mother and the child would have both died for sure. Now, the mother and the child have both survived and there may even be a chance for them to meet each other again in the future. That was already quite fortunate.

When time was up, the female Cyclops was still sleeping soundly due to fatigue. The white light swept over everything again and restored everything to its former state. The only proof they had of their successful trip was the two-headed little Cyclops in Sanzi’s arms.

Having solved this important problem of Sanzi’s, Sheyan finally took a long breath. However, his brain had no time to rest. He immediately wondered why he had not been notified of the next world they were going to face yet. He asked Zi about this, but Zi gave him a strange look.

“That’s impossible. We already got the notification quite some time ago.”
