The Quest for Immortality

And the Shugu Main Department has also assembled almost all of its troops.

Lugu personally entered the fray to fight against Chi Feng and Dan Zhu.

The other Golden Core Barbarian Generals of the Shugu Department, including the Shugu Monsters, totaling more than a dozen, also charged ahead.

The Shugu Department used the number of Golden Cores and troops to compensate for the disadvantage in the number of Bone Heavy Armor.

In the direct combat, Dan Zhu could not gain any advantage from Lugu.

Thus, both sides exhausted themselves in battle for over ten days, and the situation came to a standstill again.

The Shugu Department slowly recovered, while Lugu gradually prepared for a long-term war.

However, not long after, a scene in the battle nearly shattered Lugu’s Taoist Heart.

Dan Zhu was still at the forefront of the charge, and behind him, in his camp, another fifty Bone Heavy Armor soldiers had mysteriously appeared.

Added together, there were a total of one hundred sets of Second Grade Twenty Pattern Bone Heavy Armor!

One hundred Bone Heavy Armor soldiers!

Lugu was both shocked and furious, and then he felt a deep sense of dread.

In half a month, another fifty sets of Bone Heavy Armor appeared out of thin air?!

Is this... truly a trick of the Demon Monster?!

Is it an ancient Demon Monster helping Dan Zhu to fight?

The pure, solemn, and flawless face of Mo Hua, a face too immaculate to be human, floated up in Lugu’s mind.

The Late Golden Core Stage General Lugu also felt a slight chill of fear.

One hundred sets of ancestral Bone Heavy Armor, worn by Foundation Establishment Peak cultivators, in the Second Grade Mountain Realm, were nearly equivalent to one hundred Golden Cores, with an overwhelming pressure.

This force is ridiculously powerful.

Each set of ancestral Battle Armor was an ”inheritance” from the ancestors, incredibly precious.

And now, they were lined up like cabbages.

Even the Shugu Department had never fought such a ”luxurious” war.

The mindset of everyone in the Shugu Department was breaking down, and even their faith began to waver.

They started to question whether their ancestors were truly their ancestors.

And Dan Zhu, after receiving Mo Hua’s ”Barbarian Armor support,” also felt a sense of incredulity.

But having foreseen the miracle of Lord Shaman Mo Hua, he silently praised ”Gentleman Wise” and then led the Heavy Armored Barbarian Soldiers to counterattack the Shugu Department.

Afterward, the battle lacked any suspense.

The Shugu Department suffered defeat after defeat.

Even though Lugu was experienced in combat, it is hard to build something without materials. With such a disparity in Barbarian Armor equipment, he could only retreat again.

After about half a month of fighting, the Danque Tribe and the Wutu Alliance regained most of the territory of the Wusha Mountain Realm.

Lugu retreated to the west of the Wusha Mountain Realm.

Both sides were again at a standoff at ”Wufeng Ridge”.

The situation was exactly the same as before.

Except before, Lugu attacked, Dan Zhu defended.

Now, the roles were reversed, with Dan Zhu, bolstered by Bone Heavy Armor troops, attacking, and Lugu defending.

Dan Zhu could continue the attack and could win, but with Wufeng Ridge as a barrier, even if they won and took the land, they couldn’t hold it.

Their Heavy Armored forces were strong, but they were not as numerous as the Shugu Department.

After taking territory, they didn’t have enough soldiers to garrison.

If they scattered, they would be defeated separately.

And the Shugu Department couldn’t retreat any further.

Retreating further would mean leaving the Wusha Mountain Realm, returning to the original Third Grade Vermilion Bird Mountain Realm.

The Third Grade Vermilion Bird Mountain Realm was plagued by famine and war; returning meant fighting with other Third Grade tribes, while also threatened by famine, an equally hopeless situation.

So, Lugu could only hold his ground.

Mo Hua thought it over and didn’t let Dan Zhu press too hard, to avoid forcing the Shugu Department into a corner, leading to a fight to the death.

Such an outcome would benefit no one.

Moreover, the Shugu Department being stationed in the Wusha Mountain Realm was actually beneficial for Mo Hua.

Because with this setup, the Shugu Department became a ”buffer zone”.

Any tribe wanting to attack the Wusha Mountain Realm from the outside, or invade the Wutu Mountain Realm, had to first pass through Lugu’s Shugu Main Department.

The Shugu Department thus became Mo Hua’s first ”defensive line” against external aggression.

It was like the meat in a sandwich. .

So, under Mo Hua’s tacit approval and Lugu’s reluctant choice, the Shugu Main Department and the Danque Tribe stood as two equal powers, using Wufeng Ridge as their boundary.

Mo Hua gave Lugu some breathing room.

Lugu, also wary of the Danque Tribe’s Heavy Armored troops, dared not launch a large-scale offensive.

The tense war situation temporarily eased under this delicate standoff.

...

But in this relaxed atmosphere, Mo Hua didn’t stop his plan to forge ”Bone Heavy Armor” at all.

This battle made Mo Hua see directly the importance of ”Barbarian Armor” in the Great Wilderness Tribe wars.

Especially this set of Bone Heavy Armor passed down from the ancestors of the Shugu Department.

With the blessing of a Twenty Pattern Ultimate Formation, each additional set of Heavy Armor could turn a Foundation Establishment Peak Barbarian Soldier into a ”Golden Core”.

This was almost a ”qualitative change” in military power.

Formations are the primary productive force in the Cultivation World.

The future of war is necessarily decided by Barbarian Armor under the empowerment of formations.

Thus, Mo Hua devoted significant resources into the forging of Heavy Armor.

The majority of the Barbarian Armor materials seized from the Shugu Skill Department were also used to forge this secretly passed down ancestral Bone Heavy Armor.

And this affair stirred different feelings among the people of Dan Zhu.

They didn’t question the act of forging Heavy Armor.

They were just very puzzled as to why... ”Mr. Witch” could forge the ancestral Heavy Armor of the Shugu Department?

This was a forging method already lost within the Shugu Department itself.

For any tribe, it was an irreproducible secret.
