The Quest for Immortality

Mo Hua, this child, is just drawing a big pie for his fellow disciples...

Taixu Sect Master shook his head.

However, looking at the forest, at those young and hopeful faces, Taixu Sect Master’s heart was quite touched.

This Sword Discussion Conference, regardless of the outcome.

These disciples might all become the seeds of Taixu Gate.

One day in the future, scattered across the land of Nine State, they will grow into a lush forest.

He turned his head and looked at Mo Hua.

Mo Hua stood under the big tree.

His lean figure was covered by the branches and leaves, but his aura seemed to faintly merge with the towering ancient tree behind him.

In a daze, Mo Hua seemed to be that sky-reaching great tree, covering the entire forest, shading the whole Taixu Mountain.

”Tree...”

Taixu Sect Master’s pupils shrank.

That night, the long night was as bright as day, the Divine Tree towered, like a thousand trees with blossoms, masking Taixu’s scenery, floated in his mind again.

Taixu Sect Master was shocked in his heart and looked at Mo Hua incredulously.

After watching for a while, he rubbed his forehead and murmured:

”These days I’ve been overthinking, always prone to wild imaginations, what’s all this...”

Mo Hua merely stood under the big tree for a moment, what does it have to do with the Divine Tree vision witnessed on that day...

Taixu Sect Master shook his head.

In the forest, Mo Hua looked at the spirited crowd, nodded with satisfaction, and finally said:

”I’ve arranged the tactics, follow what I say.”

”In Qian Learning State Boundary, there are countless Heavenly Pride Disciples, it’s not necessarily about exceptional performance, sudden fame, to take the lead, to achieve victory.”

”What we need to do is to try our best. Even if you just win one match, that is a win.”

”As long as you win one match, even if it’s an insignificant victory, it will lay the groundwork for Taixu Gate’s ultimate victory.”

”The more you win, the more Taixu Gate will ascend towards the position of the Four Great Sects.”

”This is both for you and for the Sect!”

”From this moment, we prepare, three months later, we aim for the Mount of Tao, aspire to the Four Great Sects!”

After Mo Hua finished speaking, the crowd was boiling.

The junior brothers of Taixu Gate, their eyes lit with fire, boiling with fighting spirit, shouted: ”Yes, Junior Brother!”

Hundreds of people were full of vigor, their hearts surging, their voices echoed through the forest.

The observing elders, amid their stunned expressions, also found it incredible.

Mo Hua’s prestige among the disciples, along with such a rallying power, left these Taixu Gate elders somewhat ”beyond reach”.

Taixu Sect Master’s emotions fluctuated, as he watched Mo Hua, his eyes showed contemplation.

...

Afterwards, Mo Hua began urgent planning.

Beautiful words anyone can say, the key is how to do it.

First is the team formation issue.

The Sword Discussion Conference is a five-person system, no substitutes. If there are fewer people or missing members, then it’s a four versus five.

This is also a warning to the disciples.

The slaughter in the realistic Tao Cultivation World is cruel, there won’t be genuine ”fairness”, no one waits for you to be ready.

If you can’t even ensure ”full capacity”, then losing in the Sword Discussion is deserved.

Since it’s five versus five, then team matching is very important.

Prior team matching, except for top disciples, largely adhered to the principle of ”self-initiative and willingness”.

Disciples with equal cultivation and strong camaraderie formed teams with each other.

This has pros and cons.

The benefit is greater tacit understanding, but the disadvantage is the lack of complementarity in Tao Cultivation systems, which fails to exert stronger combat effectiveness.

Mo Hua simply disrupted the team matching of most disciples and reconfigured it.

Based on strength, with reference to the camaraderie between disciples.

More importantly, making the team matching among disciples more complementary, having miraculous effects in battles, combined with corresponding Formation and Spiritual Artifacts, exerting an effect greater than the sum of its parts...

Some disciples know these things, but they can’t do it themselves.

Some are unable to discard personal feelings, can’t leave good friends;

Some lack social skills, unable to find other teammates;

Some disciples, are also confused about their abilities, don’t know who they’re best suited to team up with.

Their cultivation has always been individual, lacking comprehensive coordination.

Therefore, this unified team matching, they can’t do themselves.

Similarly, Taixu Gate’s elders can’t actually do it either.

Because they are elders, there’s an identity gap with disciples, lack true and sincere understanding of the majority of disciples.

Lacking understanding, they can’t match teams well either.

Forced matching results in either mismatched teams or resentment among disciples.

And their time and energy are also limited, most of their attention is focused on the Heavenly Pride Disciples.

So, this organization-wide disciple integration, large-scale coordination, can only be done by Mo Hua.

He is the Junior Brother, living and cultivating daily with fellow disciples, very intimately familiar, and has the authority and high prestige.

Previously, disciples hunted monsters using the tactics he set.

The disciples completed bounties, many strategies were also devised by him.

These things Mo Hua had done before, now little by little, have laid the foundation for Taixu Gate’s Sword Discussion.

And Mo Hua matching teams for the disciples also based on real combat, involved many considerations.

First, there must be a front line, with a shield as a Magic Treasure, or Earth Series Body Cultivation, tough and durable, used to attract firepower.

Second, there needs to be one or two vanguards. Sword Cultivators, Body Cultivators work, balanced offense and defense, skilled in charging and killing.

Then, there must be a Spiritual Cultivator, or a Sword Cultivator cultivating Sword Qi, responsible for casting Taoist Skill for long-range annihilation.

Finally, an auxiliary cultivator needs to be supplemented.

This disciple must have some specialty, whether it’s reconnaissance skills, sneak attack abilities, or control type spells, etc.

Such is a complete team.

Both advance and retreat, capable of offense and defense, able to cope with most battle situations.

Of course, this is a team that generally decent disciples can form.

Others, who are not proficient in slaughter, insufficient cultivation strength, narrow social interactions, lack outstanding personal capabilities, they can only ”blend” and try their luck.

Mo Hua matched some ”quirky” teams.

Like the ”Fast Runner” team.

Five individuals skilled in movement technique, if unable to fight they run, if can tie then tie, with good luck might win a match.

Also the ”Immovable” team.

All with thick skin, no other traits Body Cultivators, aimed to ”consume” with others.

Mo Hua also matched some ”Chopper” teams.

Tai’a, Chongxu, Taixu Three Sects all practice Sword Cultivation.

Even the entire Qian Learning State Boundary, most disciples also practice Sword Cultivation.

Otherwise, the Qianxue Skill Competition wouldn’t be called the ”Sword Discussion” Conference.

But with this, too many Sword Cultivators, personnel redundancy occurs, team matching can’t be balanced.

Among these Sword Cultivators, many are like Cheng Mo ”reckless”.

Aside from being Sword Cultivators, no other specialties, hard to position, unwilling to use their minds, very reckless.

Tactics are useless to them.

Complicated tactics, they can’t execute.

Mo Hua can only put them together, forming ”Chopper” teams, then tell them:

”During the Sword Discussion, don’t think too much. Victory or defeat lightly regarded, see a person just hack, whatever it hacks into is what it becomes...”

This statement is straightforward and simple, easy to execute, and very spirited.

A group of reckless Sword Cultivators shouted:

”Junior Brother brilliant!”

Additionally, some odd-shaped teams focused on ”surprise”, winning a game is a game.

As long as you win one game, that’s victory.

After the team was broadly finalized, Mo Hua adjusted regardless of disciples’ wishes, confirmed there were no major issues, then began formal drills.

At this time, Taixu Sect Master brought a proud young man to Mo Hua, introduced:

”Mo Hua, this is whom I mentioned before, the Heavenly Pride Disciple of the Tai’a Mountain lineage this session, Ouyang Xuan.”
