2924  Adaptive Evolutionception

And yet, it was within his prediction.

”Body of Water.”

It was a technique that he had devised in his battle with Sage Sekiei that, when timed properly, allowed to him to withstand and absorb the power of his opponentsʼs attack and use it against them.

And use it against them he did.

STEP

He swiftly got back to his feet, using the absorbed energy to fuel a tremendously powerful charge, propelling him at such high velocities that it rippled across the very fabric of space and time.

WHOOSH!!!

He arrived before the abyssfeeder in less than a microsecond, throwing a blindingly fast Gu death strike.

BOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOMMM!!!

The creature blasted him away with a spatial shockwave once more.

And yet again, it was within his predictions, allowing him to absorb his opponentʼs power and bounce back even faster. Within the span of mere nanoseconds, he had already returned before the abyssfeeder, his Gu death strike surging towards the creature with fierce momentum.

Another shockwave unidirectional shockwave emerged from the abyssfeeder as it blasted into him, flinging him away once more.

WHOOSH!!!

This time, he came back even sooner.

Even faster.

BOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOMMM!!!

WHOOSH!!!

BOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOMMM!!!

WHOOSH!!!

BOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOMMM!!!

WHOOSH!!!

A fascinating battle dynamic erupted on the battlefield as Rui launched himself at the abyssfeeder over and over, only to be blasted away over and over. With each attack he unleashed, the abyssfeeder was quick to respond, blasting him away with a targeted shockwave across space and time. Ruiʼs momentum and power were high enough that even the abyssfeeder needed to direct most of its energy solely into blasting him away. It did so using space manipulation, a rather energy-consuming, if powerful and effective, medium of force.

It understood instinctively, if it even had instincts, that it could not allow Rui to touch it. Perhaps its senses detected the extraordinarily perilous gu and lethality, perhaps preventing direct contact was simply a rule of thumb built into it.

Rui wasnʼt sure.

And he didnʼt care.

His eyes sharpened with an extraordinarily intense determination and dedication.

The sum totality of his mind converged upon the singular goal of defeating the abyssfeeder.

A genuine, sincere smile of ecstasy and excitement emerged on his face as he dedicated everything to the sole task of adaptively evolving to the abyssfeeder.

BOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOMMM!!!

With each attack that batted him away, he grew a little faster in his raw speed than before by absorbing and using its power to accelerate him. BOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOMMM!!!

With each attack fueling his raw speed, he adaptively evolved his distribution of blood from his body to his brain with a slow and steady transition towards Megamind to enhance his reverse Temporaral Disharmony.

BOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOMMM!!!

With each attack, he deployed his Martial Soul, exerting his control over every individual cell in his body to absorb the impact elastically and harness as much power as it could.

BOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOMMM!!!

With each attack, the lag between subsequent attacks was reduced a bit, allowing him to increase the mounting pressure on the abyssfeeder, which was forced to deal with more frequent attacks.

And yet, the abyssfeeder did not simply sit as he bounced about the battlefield, leaping to and getting batted away from it.

BOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOMMM!!!

SPLAT SPLAT SPLAT!

A number of wounds emerged on Ruiʼs body as the abyssfeeder adaptively evolved its retaliatory attacks, making them sharper, allowing them to pierce Ruiʼs body and leave him with flesh wounds.

WHOOSH

They healed in the blink of an eye with a combination of Weaving Blood and the Martial Soul which allowed him to heal and regenerate at vastly superior speed than he ever could have before. He adaptively evolved with Nemean Blossom, also amplified with the Martial Soul. Rui could facilitate the strengthening of the cell walls in his body by making them thicker much easier than he ever had before as he could communicate with each cell and have them engage in the Nemean Blossom technique.

The Martial Soul in particular greatly enhanced the Metabody System to extraordinary degrees, far more than it enhanced any other system in his Martial Art. In the Master Realm, the Metabody System had been left behind in the dust by the other systems of the body that had grown more powerful with the advent of the Martial Mind.

But in the Sage Realm, it had returned to what it had been in the Squire and Senior Realm.

SPLAT SPLAT SPLAT!!!

Numerous wounds, this time infected with poison, emerged on Ruiʼs body as the abyssfeeder attempted adaptively evolved to him by relying on poison with its parries. And yet, in conjunction with Weaving Blood, he deployed his Martial Soul to not just heal his wounds but also effortlessly sequester and get rid of the poison.

In the blink of an eye, he adaptively evolved to the abyssfeederʼs adaptively evolved solution to his adaptive evolution, which in turn had been in response to the abyssfeederʼs adaptive evolution to his own adaptive evolution that had occurred against the abyssfeederʼs adaptive evolution.

It was beyond the comprehension of lesser minds.

What followed was not just an endless flurry of attacks and parries between the two of them as they exchanged countless attacks against each other in the blink of an eye, but also an endless chain of adaptive evolution that seemed to have no end.

Each time Rui took a step to get closer to landing a powerful blow, the abyssfeeder retaliated with its own powerful adaptive evolution that in turn triggered Rui to engage in even more adaptive evolution.

The battle grew increasingly complex as countless measures of adaptive evolution emerged from both sides as each shifted and changed in more ways than even the shocked Martial Sages beholding the battle could fathom.

A contest of adaptive evolution, unlike any other in the past.

Simultaneously, the physical aspects of the battle only grew more intense.

BOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOMMM!!!

BOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOMMM!!!

BOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOMMM!!!

Rui had a become a hazy flash.

One that flashed about the entire battlefield, bouncing to and fro from the abyssfeeder that violently defended itself against Ruiʼs aggressive attempts to kill it.

RUMBLE!!!!!

The sheer intensity of their conflict heightened with each passing second.
