The Martial Unity

2921  Kin of Adaptive Evolution

While Damian and the living moon golem tussled with each other, the other three Sages also confronted their targeted enemies. ”Heavenly Step of Boundless Light.”

Bodhisattva Maitreyi turned into a brilliant, blindingly bright beam of light that immediately surged toward her target within the depths of the core, hiding amid the shadows. The shadowcrawler lurked amid the darkness.

A creature that was said to be an embodiment of darkness itself.

One moment, she was able the perceive the entirety of the world around her.

The very next, everything was drowned in darkness.

It sapped the very light of the world, including the light that comprised her very being.

VMMM…

She returned to her human material form as she found her senses unable to materially detect the shadowcrawler that lurked about in the darkness of the core of the Central Highlands of thing Beast Domain.

She recalled the intelligence that she had received on the creature.

”Immaterial.”

A creature with a body that was beyond materia.

It was unlike anything she had ever fathomed in her entire life.

If not for vague ripples through the very fabric of space and time, she would not have been able to tell that the creature existed at all. She was entirely sure how she would be able to attack a creature with an immaterial physicality.

Unfortunately for her, it appeared that the shadowcrawler had no qualms about attacking her despite being immaterial.

BOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOMMMM!!!

Her expression grew grim as a thundering impact battered her body, and the vaguest hints of  a shadow seemed to brush by her. It didnʼt give her even the slightest moment of reprieve.

BOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOMMM!!!!!

Before she realized it, an even heavier collision blasted into her as the voracious shadows emerged from the darkness, increasingly flashing about her at the speed of darkness. The darkness around her seemed to dance, relishing in preying on her. ”Amitabha. Let the boundless light within me dispel the malevolence of this darkness.”

A tremendously bright light emerged from her and from her environment as she converted matter into pure bright white light, scorching all of heaven and earth and the very fabric of space and time with an immensely intense light.

It exposed the world to be as it truly was.

In that moment, she caught a brief, hazy glimpse of the creature amid its weight upon the fabric of space and time, cleverly manipulating it to hide its presence. And yet, the light she emitted bent as it passed through its body. It didnʼt interact with the world in any other way.

None of the other fundamental forces of the universe could so much as touch it. No other matter or energy could even interact it.

”This…” A whisper escaped her. ”This is a different kind of materia.”

It was, unbeknownst to her, dark matter.

A form of non-hadronic matter that only interacted with a handful of quantum fields and was entirely immune to any other field. It was intangible, imperceivable, and uninteractable with normal matter and energy.

If not for its weight on space and time, it may as well have not existed in the first place.

It made it immune to damage and force, as well as entirely imperceivable amid the darkness.

It was invincible.

And yet, its opponent was none other than the Boundless Light herself.

”All that there is is light.”

Her tone was sincere.

Genuine.

”Omnilumina.”

RUMBLE!!!!!

The world shook as she concentrated and converged her greatest attack upon the quasi-Transcendent shadowcrawler.

Meanwhile, the Reverend of Reckoning found himself standing before a titanic, colossal serpent of astronomical proportions. The jormungandr.

One of only two.

The creature was almost as massive as the golem moon but traded mobility for durability.

One moment, it beheld the Reverend of Reckoning with its massive red eyes, each the size of a tectonic plate. The very next, it had already lashed out by virtue of the sheer striking speed that was common among serpents.

Any ordinary Martial Sage would have died in the blink of an eye.

Any ordinary Martial Sage, that is.

”Reckon with the order that flows through your very being.”

BOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOMMM!!!!!

An impact that would have killed him was greatly mitigated as the Reverend of Reckoning intercepted the attack with a realm of precision and accuracy that was approaching the planck scale; the very limits of space and time.

Every lifeform had an order that described it.

One that permeated the entirety of their beings and described every minutia of their being.

Should one gain the ability to ʼreadʼ the order, they would gain the ability to tap into the weaknesses of the targetʼs very being.

There were only two beings in the entire world who could read the order.

One of them was Rui, with his astronomical systems of thought and extraordinary mind that allowed him to process an unfathomable amount of information and could even resurrect people as long as he had the ʼorderʼ of their being.

The other was the Reverend of Reckoning.

Yet, while Rui spent all his efforts on training his adaptive evolution, the Reverend of Reckoning had exclusively focused all his attention on simply understanding the order underlying the world and his opponents.

BOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOMMM!!!!!

BOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOMMM!!!!!

BOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOMMM!!!!!

With a profound understanding of the order of the serpent, he simply acted, defending himself from attacks that he foresaw and understood to extraordinary degrees with supreme precision and accuracy.

While he wrestled with the serpent, Rui found himself before a giant sphere of primordial seed.

A smile cracked at the edge of his mouth.

”Finally.”

His tone was chilling.

”Finally, I get to fight you once more.”

RUMBLE!!!!!

The world shook as a microcosm of Water emerged from the very depths of his being, flooding the entirety of the Beast Domain. The sheer weight of Martial Embodiment bore heavily on the minds of all those who beheld it as his Realms of power blazed with endless power.

In that moment, the abyssfeeder felt a profound sense of kinship towards Rui.

As though they were members of the same species.

They might as well have been.

And yet, even if they were, it didnʼt change what was to unfold.

In that moment, the entirety of the world around them may as well have ceased to exist.

It may as well have ceased to exist as they unleashed the sum totality of the Adaptive Evolution within the very existence.

The world shook.

It shook as the two forces of Adaptive Evolution collided.

RUMBLE!!!!!
