The Invincible Full-Moon System

Chapter 345: Subordinating the Platchi Family

Rex grinned when his eyes connected with Maurice on the second floor,

The paleness and the fear in Mauriceʼs expression can be seen clearly in Rexʼs eyes, Mauriceʼs expression looks like a normal guy being pointed by a gun on his head.

Itʼs even surprising for Rex when he saw Mauriceʼs expression,

ʼI just use the Alpha Bearing skill on him, I didnʼt expect him to be this scaredʼ, Rex thought

In front of Mauriceʼs eyes, the ground below Rexʼs feet started to get engulfed by blackness and the blackness started to spread to the surrounding.

The black lightning mana imbued the ground like an overwhelming army,

Black lightning tentacles then sprouted from the black ground, one of the lightning tentacles grab the last remaining black tiger guild memberʼs head.

The manʼs head that has his arms chopped off was wrapped by the black tentacle.

With the increase in Rexʼs intelligence stat from the last time Rex used this spell, the black tentacle looks thicker and more robust than before.

Because of getting his head wrapped, the manʼs screaming voice got muffled.

BLITZ!

Black lightning electrocuted his body.

The man tries to fight it with his fire element, but the black lightning tentacle is too strong and his fire element was overwhelmed by Rexʼs black lightning paralyzing his entire body.

STAB! STAB! STAB!

Rex flick his finger before other black lightning tentacles burst from the black ground and penetrate the manʼs body leaving many gaping holes.

Just like that, the Awakened died just from a flick of Rexʼs finger.

This all happened right in front of Mauriceʼs eyes as he stands by the window with a horror-stricken expression, he even saw how the black lightning tentacles carries the corpses.

Rex uses the black lightning tentacle to hide the corpses on the sides,

ʼThe sound barrier rune is very convenient in this kind of placeʼ, Rex thought.

Before Rex arrives in front of the Platchiʼs house entrance, he stops to tie his shoelaces as an act to engrave a rune on the ground in front of the Platchiʼs house.

It will block all loud sounds in the area, Rex did this as a precaution since heʼs in a neighborhood.

Because of that, the attack from the Black Tiger Guild members before.

Rex needs to stop it from exploding because the rune will not able to sustain that kind of explosion, and if that were to happen then the neighbor will definitely hear them.

They then will call the police or even the FAA and this will be bad,

After seeing Rex killed and hiding the guards from the Black Tiger guild that is supposed to protect his home, Maurice and Duncan are forced to take their weapons and go downstairs.

Maurice is holding two light red short-sword on both of his hands,

While Duncan on the other side takes his sword, the sword is engraved by a rune and from how the blade glistens under the moonlight itʼs clear that this sword is made by a high-rank material.

Thud! Thud! Thud!

Both of them got down from the second floor with weapons,

Their movements then stop when they saw Rex is already sitting calmly on a single-sofa, his expression was covered by the black mask leaving only his eyes to see.

Amuerus Katana was stabbed on the ground beside the sofa Rex is sitting on.

Although heʼs wearing a black T-shirt that canʼt show the color red, the stench of blood from the corpses earlier can still be smelled from Rex.

It amplifies Rexʼs intimidating presence as he looks at Duncan and Maurice with cold eyes.

The father and son duoʼs eyes turn into a flaming dark red fire as they look at Rex warily, they canʼt help but be alert upon seeing Rexʼs nonchalant behavior.

Even in front of powerful Awakened, Rex is not at all fazed.

”Duncan Platchi... I believe this is the first time we properly meet”, Rex said softly.

He pulls down his mask exposing his wide grin before saying this, the cheeky grin was there just to show both of them that Rex is not bothered by their powerful aura.

After scanning Duncan Platchi, Rex then mocked with a calm tone, ”Youʼre still a sixth rank?”

”It seems youʼre getting too old to progress further”

Hearing this, Duncan grip his sword tighter upon hearing what Rex said before he replies, ”What are you doing here Rex?”

”You didnʼt know?”, Rex said pretending to be surprised.

His eyes then shifted to the right and landed on Maurice before he added, ”I can feel your son is VERY, eager to talk to me during the meeting before. I thought Iʼll stop by!”

The bead of cold sweat can be seen clearly on the side of Duncanʼs face,

”Donʼt be cocky you piece of shit! Youʼve made a big mistake coming here”, Maurice suddenly intervenes from the side with a contorted expression.

Rex looks at him calmly for a few seconds,

Looking at this, Maurice grins back before he added, ”The FAA should be on their way here now, Do you really think your fight outside wouldnʼt attract anyone?”

”All we have to do is keep you here, even you wonʼt be able to kill us easily”

But upon hearing this, Rex holds his face with his hand with a slight chuckle.

The chuckle was a mocking chuckle, Rex canʼt believe what heʼs hearing right now, ”The FAA will not come here, and your neighbors? I guarantee you theyʼre still sleeping”, Rex replied.

This makes a frown appear on Mauriceʼs face.

While Duncan on the other side was not surprised,

In fact, when Maurice was threatening Rex, Duncan didnʼt have any changes in his facial expression aside from full caution towards Rex.

Duncan knows how cunning and ruthless Rex is,

The thought of Rex coming here is there when he was about to close his eyes, but he still has some doubts since he manage to bring Maurice out before things escalated.

Who wouldʼve thought that Rex will turn up to his house anyway,

”And for the latter, Do you want to test if I can easily kill both of you?”, Rex said lightly.

But the light tone comes with a very deep emphasization, especially in the word kill, Maurice even feels a powerful killing intent coming from Rex before suddenly.

PSSHH!

Red force started to cloaked Rexʼs body, he also use the Pure Brace of Moonlight skill.

The powerful aura that Rex emitted before that shouldʼve been in the insane realm of the sixth rank suddenly shot up, now his aura already reaches the seventh rank.

His aura even burdened both Maurice and Duncanʼs back, it was horrifying.

Feeling that Rex is way out of how Duncan expected him to be, Duncan hurriedly said, ”Rex, I already did what you ask for. I keep my end so please keep your part”, thereʼs a hint of pleading in his tone that even surprises Maurice as he looks at his father in shock.

It was brief, but Maurice can definitely hear the plead in Duncanʼs tone.

”Father, Why are you being like this? Heʼs just a fucking a nobody!”, Maurice replied angrily, he was disappointed and also shocked to see this side of his father.

But Duncan replies, ”Donʼt make things complicated”

”HE KILLED LUCAS!!”, Maurice shouted angrily, he still bore hatred to Rex that killed his brother Lucas during the Ochyra University field trip.

Duncan suddenly glances at Maurice fiercely with bloodthirst, glaring at him.

The reddened eyes of Duncan make Maurice realize what he just did as he turns his head away reluctantly, it was clear that Lucas is still a sensitive topic for Duncan.

While theyʼre doing this, Rex is watching them calmly.

But thereʼs also another thing in his vision aside from the son and father quarreling, thereʼs the Sudden Quest that the system issued that told him not to kill Maurice.

Rex is looking at the Sudden Quest tab as he crosses his leg in a figure 4 position,

His feet are moving up and down as it seems heʼs contemplating something, Rex is thinking before suddenly he realizes that Duncan and Maurice are looking at him dazed.

”Your son over there looks at me as if his eyes can kill, Do you have any explanation for that?”

Hearing this, Duncan glance at Maurice briefly before he replies, ”As Mauriceʼs father, I apologize on his behalf and hope that you can let this matter rest. Heʼs still naive, Iʼll punish him for sure”

”Father!”, Maurice said in surprise but quickly shut his mouth.

Rex then looks at Maurice before he sighs, he finally made up his mind, ”You know that I never meant to kill Lucas right? He tried to kill me first because of an irrelevant matter”

”If you know Lucas, then you know what Iʼm telling is the truth”, he added.

Duncan clenched his jaw upon hearing this but he didnʼt say anything to rebut Rex, he knows what his sonʼs personality is like, and doing something like that is very much his son-like behavior.

Even Maurice looks to the side reluctantly,

Based on just their expression, Rex knows that Lucas is known for being a brat even to his family.

”It seems you both now understand why I was forced to kill Lucas, so donʼt blame me for defending myself and not letting Lucas kill me”, Rex said before he slowly stands up.

Seeing Rex standing up from his seat, Maurice and Duncan points their weapons at Rex.

Rex raised his hands with a smile, ”Easy there”

Under Duncan and Mauriceʼs gaze, Rex started to walk around the guest room and the living room while inspecting the inside of the house up and down.

The inside of the house was comfortable, but Rex doesnʼt see anything fancy.

Only a couple of electronics of the newest model can be seen in the house, but aside from that, thereʼs nothing else that can instantly differentiate them as a part of the 25 Families.

While walking around, Rex then said, ”It seems youʼre not in a good condition”

”Is it because of the campaign to become one of the High Table? But seeing your state, your endeavor to become a member of the High Table doesnʼt go well is it?”

Hearing this, Mauriceʼs face turns red as he grinds his teeth in anger.

Back when Rex is researching the Platchi Family, Rex found that the oldest son of the Platchi was trying to become one of the High Table to raise his familyʼs name.

The money needed for this campaign is too much even for them,

So the head of the Platchi Family, Duncan makes the Fireband Market just to fund Mauriceʼs campaign to become a part of the High Table which seems to be a complete failure.

Duncan and Maurice didnʼt answer which states the answer clearly to Rex,

”Then I have a proposal for you two, and the woman listening to us on the stairs”, Rex said making the woman thatʼs listening to them from the stairs heart beat faster.

With a wide smile, Rex then added, ”I can hear your heartbeat”

A woman slowly came out of her hiding and starts to descend the stairs, without Rex asking he already knows that this woman is Duncanʼs wife.

Rex sits back on the sofa before he looks at the three while supporting his cheek with his fist.

”How about working with me as my subordinate?”, Rex suddenly said.

Hearing this, the woman wanted to open her mouth with clear anger and so is Maurice but got stopped by Duncan that has a frown on his face, ”What do you need us for? You have the Reed Family so why do you need us?”

”Because of some issues, I canʼt trust in the Reed fully”, Rex said while shaking his head.

Although he didnʼt really think the Reed Family will betray him at some point, Edward insisted that the Reed Family canʼt be trusted so Rex is doing this just in case.

With a stoic expression, Rex then said, ”I will help your family rise the ranks”

”In return, your family will be my subordinates giving every little information in the 25 Families circle and always at my disposal. You will eventually realize that what Iʼm offering you now is one in a million chance”, Rex added nonchalantly.

Maurice turns his head towards Duncan before he denies, ”Absolutely not!”

”Father! You canʼt possibly consider this blasphemy, donʼt listen to this damn fiend!”, Maurice added angrily when he saw Duncanʼs thinking expression.

Even Duncanʼs wife is looking at Duncan in disbelief,

But Duncan realizes something the others donʼt, he can read Rexʼs expression clearly.

ʼHeʼll definitely kill us if we refuseʼ, he thought.

After a brief moment and seeing his son and wifeʼs reaction, Duncan finally said, ”Can you let us think about this? This is not a small matter that I can answer right away”

”Donʼt worry, Iʼll give you time until we finish tomorrowʼs mission”, Rex replied waving his hand.

After saying that, Rexʼs eyes glisten as he looks at Duncan, ”Back to our topic earlier”

”You said that youʼre sorry on Mauriceʼs behalf right? But how do I know if Maurice is also feeling sorry, so I need him to do something for me”, Rex said as a brimming smile appeared on his face, this smile looks normal but it gives a bad omen in Duncanʼs heart.

Maurice is also frowning upon hearing this,

Duncan then said, ”As long as itʼs within my sonʼs power, he will definitely do it”

”Thatʼs great!”, Rex said excitedly before he glance at Maurice.

But all of their faces contorted in shock when they heard the words that came out of Rexʼs mouth, ”Gauge both of your eyes out, then Iʼll accept your sincere apology”, he said with a smile.
