The Invincible Full-Moon System

Chapter 344: Killer Visits in the Night

ʼNo way, I really canʼt do thatʼ, Evelyn thought as she closes her eyes.

Sheʼs trying to imagine something else but it seems to not working,

Evelyn then opens her eyes again to find that Rex is intimately gazing at her, but when Rexʼs body moved to lean closer to her, ”PFFT!!”

Hearing this, Rex pulls his body back and saw that Evelyn is covering her mouth.

Her face turns even redder as she tries to keep her expression neutral, but seeing this Rex realized something, ”You know that you just said it yourself that you look like a frog right?”

Turns out the reddened face and the harsh swallowing was Evelyn trying to hold back her laughter.

Rex totally misread that situation forgetting that his face was in a mess thanks to Evelyn, he face-palm himself feeling a little bit embarrassed of himself.

ʼWhat am I doing? I already have Adharaʼ, Rex thought with a sigh.

Since the UWO and SCO alliance, Rex has been in a good mood and although the mission assigned by Sebrof was harsh, he canʼt help but think of this as an opportunity.

Killing an Undead, Rex has never done that before.

He did during the field test in Ochyra University, but the Supernatural there can hardly represent the Undead race which is one of the high-rank Supernatural.

So Rex was a little bit excited, and he was confident that the mission will go fine.

”Letʼs just take this off, Iʼll just wear a face mask like you”, Rex said before he started to undo his changed face with his black lightning.

Looking at Rex undoing the effects on his face,

Evelyn suddenly approaches him from the side before she suddenly leans in and gives a kiss on Rexʼs cheek, she did it unexpectedly as Rex is looking at his reflection.

Tcup!

This catches Rex off-guard since heʼs focusing on removing the itemʼs effect on his face.

But upon feeling a soft pair of lips on his cheek, Rex widen his eyes,

Although itʼs just for a brief moment, Rex can see Evelyn kissing his cheek from the mirror which totally comes unexpectedly since she just mock Rexʼs face a moment ago.

Rex puts his hand on his cheek as he looks at Evelyn,

Evelyn also looks to Rex before she looks to the side averting Rexʼs gaze with a blush, she covers her mouth but she then hurriedly said, ”Iʼm gonna wait outside”

After saying that, she left the restroom hurriedly.

Unknown to Evelyn, the surprise expression didnʼt just come from her kissing Rexʼs cheek.

But also the notification from the system that appeared after she kissed him,

Rex was reading the notification from the system in thought,

ʼFemale Alpha Contender?ʼ, Rex thought with a frown.

Based on the sounds of it, Rex can somewhat get the gist of it as he thought, ʼThe closest one that I can think of is probably Rosie since I almost do the deed with her, at least I thought that sheʼs the closest girl that can rival Adhara but to actually be acknowledged by the system?ʼ

The time during the Violet Moon, Rosie and Rex did the deed.

Itʼs all because of the Violet Moon, but even when they almost did it the system didnʼt recognize her as a Female Alpha Contender.

But now, Evelyn suddenly got recognized by the system.

Just from a kiss on the cheek to be exact, and that blew Rexʼs mind because of how the system measure which girl can become a Female Alpha Contender.

Although she got instantly demoted though since sheʼs not a Werewolf.

ʼLetʼs forget about it, Evelyn wouldnʼt be my pack member anywayʼ, Rex thought.

A moment later,

Rex walks out of the restroom and saw Evelyn waiting for him, sheʼs still averting her gaze because of what she did but Rex has to do something so he canʼt really stay here like this.

”Iʼm gonna go, you can go back”, he said while putting on his black face mask.

Hearing this, Evelyn frowns, ”Why do you have to confront them anyway? Itʼs not like you didnʼt already beat them, youʼre just bullying them at this point”, she said.

”Maurice Platchi look at me the wrong way”, Rex mumbles.

He then approaches Evelyn and stops right in front of her, the towering Rex then looks down on Evelyn, ”Itʼs not a good idea to look at me the wrong way, you should learn from this”

Evelyn gulped harshly seeing that Rex has become his usual self,

The Rex that she just quarreled with and laughed before was just a break before the real Rex comes out, itʼs not a good idea to push him further when Rex is being like this.

”Just donʼt blatantly kill them”, Evelyn mutters.

She then looks at Rex in the eyes before she added, ”Thereʼs enough stuff going on with the 25 Families mission and the soon-to-be alliance, donʼt add more and create chaos”

After saying that, Evelyn bids her goodbye and leaves.

Rex looks at Evelynʼs back that is becoming further and further away, ʼWhy is everyone trying to defend the Platchi? Itʼs not that I have a choice since the system just issued a Sudden Questʼ

Since the Killing Intent that comes from Maurice has surpassed the tolerance limit,

The system gives Rex a Sudden Quest to kill Maurice, he will receive a penalty if he doesnʼt and the penalty should weaken him for a time period.

Rex can hardly afford that, itʼs going to be bad.

With that, Rex shakes his head and continues on his way towards the Platchi Family.

Adhara told Rex that Platchi is staying in the 3E sector which is in their sector, Rex doesnʼt know why Duncan stays here when heʼs clearly donʼt want to have anything to do with Rex.

ʼWell it doesnʼt matterʼ, Rex thought.

After about twenty minutes of walking and taking the bus, Rex arrived in front of a house that is quite big with no fences, only a pathway leading to the entrance of the house.

It was not as Rex expected since the 25 Familiesʼ houses are usually like a castle.

This much of a house was not something an Awakened like Duncan should own, itʼs too humble for a man like Duncan considering that heʼs one of the 25.

ʼI canʼt sense anythingʼ, Rex thought with a frown.

Since itʼs already a bit late in the night, the lights are all off except for the ones on the entrance but the strange thing is that Rex didnʼt sense anyone inside the house.

Rex should be able to sense the people this far, so this is weird.

Putting his guard up, Rex approach the entrance but when he was about to take a step into the pathway leading to the entrance,

Bang!

His feet suddenly hit something before Rex frowned, ʼA barrier?ʼ

But then suddenly,

SWOOSH!

CLANG!

Three people came out of nowhere catching Rex in surprise since he canʼt sense them, their swords collided with Rexʼs katana creating three sparks as they got pushed away by Rex.

All of them are wearing the Black Tiger guild outfit, the guild associated with the Platchi Family.

”Who are you? Why have you come here?”, one of the men said.

Hearing this, Rex lays his Amuerus Katana on his traps with a grin that canʼt be seen through his black face mask, ”Iʼm here to visit Duncan, heʼs an old friend of mine”

”Sir Duncan is not accepting guests at this hour, please leave”, the man said.

But upon hearing this, Rex started chuckling for a bit, ”Is that how you treat everyone that visited? You just attacked me first before asking who am I”

The man went silent as he inspected Rex,

Although Rex is wide open while playing with his katana on his traps, the three guild members of the Black Tiger guild can feel that Rex is emitting a very dangerous vibe.

Itʼs clear that heʼs not just some Awakened passerby,

Rex saw that the man in the middle nudge his chin before a smile appear on Rexʼs face, another Awakened sneaked from behind and leaped towards Rex.

SWOOSH!

Fire engulfed the entire sword that heʼs holding when the Awakened was nearing Rex.

But when the Awakened was about to slash at Rexʼs neck,

”Huh?”, the Awakened mumbles as he suddenly felt his sword fall to the ground, he then looks down before his eyes went wide and his expression turns pale.

SPURT!

Both of his arms are cut off before he can even swing his sword, ”RAARGHH!!!”

The three men in front of Rex widened their eyes in shock, they thought that the Awakened behind Rex was able to sneak successfully and at least wound Rex.

To their surprise, Rex already noticed it.

ʼSo this barrier is what makes my sense dullʼ, Rex thought while looking at the three men.

The three men were behind the barrier so Rex canʼt get through easily, he inspected the barrier without even minding the screaming man behind him that has his arms chopped off.

”Who are you! This is the Platchi Familyʼs ground, one of the 25 Golden Crest Families. Do you have any idea who youʼre dealing with?!”

”Of course I know, I told you before. Iʼm here to meet with Duncan”, Rex replied with a fierce glint.

Hearing the calmness inside Rexʼs voice, the three men gulped harshly as they know that they are dealing with an Awakened that is not only powerful but also ruthless.

Gritting his teeth, the man in the middle then said, ”You wonʼt be able to bypass the barrier”

”This is the barrier created by a rank six formation master, you will not be able to destroy this barrier even if you try for a million years!”, the man in the middle added.

But Rex grin upon hearing this,

When his feet touch the barrier before, Rex already scanned the barrier with the system.

After the system notification appears, Rex takes the item that he purchased from the system before he throws the vial to the invisible barrier.

Prang!

The vial shatters coating the barrier in front of Rex with the liquid inside it.

Seeing this, the three men were confused but they really have a bad feeling about this as they unconsciously step back when Rex smiles evilly while looking at them.

”I canʼt break it? Let me try it!”

BAM!

Rex imbued his element and his red force into his punch,

He even use his Force Beam skill as the red force coated his fist as his fist landed solidly on the barrier, and under the Black Tiger membersʼ eyes the barrier that they boast about cracked!

The crack started spreading before the barrier blink a couple of times and shattered into pieces.

”No way! How is this possible!”, one of the men exclaimed.

Then the man in the middle added, ”Are you from the other families?!”

But Rex ignore their surprising remarks as the barrier pieces dissipated, ”Oh, Would you look at that? I got through”, Rex said with an evil grin, and this grin gives goosebumps to the three men.

With the barrier broken, thereʼs nothing to stand between Rex and them.

”Do you think weʼre just some weaklings?! Iʼll make sure to wipe that grin of yours”, the man in the middle said before he commanded the other two as fire mana gathers on them.

Rex can feel the fire mana gathers on them as a circle of fire appeared in front of them,

The circle of fire is created by many kinds of runes almost like a formation before the three circles of fire merge into one creating a bigger one, it gathers the fire mana crazily.

”Youʼre doing this kind of spell in this situation?”, Rex thought will shaking his head.

Hearing this, the Black Tiger guild members grind their teeth in anger as they chanted, ”Crimson Fire Formation! Crimson Flame!”

WOOSHH!

The circle of fire spat crimson flames like a flamethrower,

Even the ground melted because of the heat of the crimson fire, it shot through their front, and when Rex was about to dodge it he suddenly frowns, ʼIf I let this through the neighbors will be attracted, I canʼt let this spell explodeʼ

Rex readies his katana as he imbues it with black lightning,

The runes on the katana started to glow as Rex went into his battle stance, black lightning started to blitz chaotically as Rex chanted, ”Flash!”

BLITZ!!

With his katana, Rex cut through the crimson fire.

The Amuerus Katana cut through the crimson fire like butter as Rex imbued his black lightning to the crimson fire, the black lightning disturbed the mana inside the crimson fire spell and disperse it instantly.

SWOOSH!

Rex easily disperse the crimson fire, it was not even a challenge.

The three guild members of the Black Tiger guild were caught in surprise when they saw their three combined spells were destroyed just like that, they didnʼt even realize that Rex is already behind them.

”You guys are too slow”, Rex commented harshly.

With trembling legs, the three of them look at their backs and saw Rex is already behind them.

Rex is turning his face to the side teasing them with his wicked smile, black lightning mana gathers onto his body before he chanted, ”Thousand Lightning Thorn”

STAB!

Inside the house,

A woman woke up from bed when she heard weird sounds from the front, she woke up Duncan who was just sleeping beside her.

Duncan jolted from the bed when he hear the weird sound,

”Wait here”, he said before he puts on his night pajamas and open the door lightly.

Upon opening the door, Duncan can hear the weird sounds clearly and he realized that itʼs coming from the front. His body stiffen when he heard screams from in front of the house.

Walking cautiously, Duncan jolted when Maurice suddenly open his door.

Maurice also heard the screaming sound as he too got up from bed, with a hand signal Duncan told Maurice to stay where he is as he heads towards the window on the second floor.

Duncan peek from the window curtains before he suddenly sucked in a cold breath,

”No...Thereʼs no way...”, Duncan mutters as his eyes widen in shock.

Seeing Duncanʼs stiff body, Maurice decided to peek too but his body also froze when he see what heʼs seeing right now that brings a chill on his spine.

He saw a man wailing on the ground that has his arms chopped off,

There are also three bodies near the entrance that already stain the grass in red, but what makes his body freeze is not the dead bodies but itʼs because of the man standing amongst the dead bodies.

Rex is standing with blood staining his face, three dead bodies are lying around him.

Feeling a couple of gazes from the second floor, Rex looks up and saw Maurice peeking through the window with a pale expression.

The bleak aura that is coming from him, Rex can see it cloaking his body.

Both of their eyes connected before a nasty grin appear on Rexʼs face, the bloodstains add Rexʼs intimidation presence as his eyes flashed with red light.

This red flash makes Maurice steps back from the window with trembling bodies,

”Rex Silverstar...”
