The Invincible Full-Moon System

Chapter 340: Getting Ready for the Mission

”HEʼS JUST A KID!”

BAM!

Edward punched the wall angrily, the wall cracked with just a punch from Edward even though he was not using any of his elemental aura.

It was a pure anger punch to ease himself,

The punch shocks Rex for a split second before his expression turns normal again, he was surprised by Edwardʼs sudden burst of anger but he read where Edward is coming from.

Since Kyran turned into a Werewolf, he definitely unable to maintain his anger.

During their way down from Lountain City when Rex got the Pack Inspection Feature from the system, he also noticed that Kyranʼs berserk stat has a plus 30% beside it.

This high berserk stat definitely fueled his body during his transformation,

Because of that, no matter how Edward tries to call for him or wake him up. Kyran will not respond.

Rex looks down while getting pinned by Edward before he shakes his head, he even chuckles for a little bit since he doesnʼt expect to be in this kind of situation.

Looking at this, Edward frowned as he saw Rex chuckling.

”You really havenʼt changed at all didnʼt you?”, Rex mutters lightly while shaking his head.

Edward puts some more pressure on Rexʼs neck as he said, ”This part of me will never change, I already told you when weʼre still in the military that kids shouldnʼt get dragged into problems!”

”Especially our kind of problem...”, Edward said holding back his anger.

He clenched his fists while closing his eyes, Edward then opens his eyes and stare directly into Rexʼs, ”Do you understand!”, he said as his voice becomes louder with each word.

Hearing this, the corner of Rexʼs mouth quirks into a weird smile.

”Now that you said that, I thought that the girl was familiar and now I remembered. The girl thatʼs sitting with you, sheʼs the girl from the military right?”, Rex said making Edward grit his teeth in anger.

What Rex said made the vein on Edwardʼs neck pop, ”What did that have to do with this?”

”As a person who dwelled in the military from a teen like me, you shouldʼve realized that the world is not that innocent to filter kids from the problems”, Rex said with a mocking tone, his expression then turns cold in a blink of an eye.

His change of expression was so swift that Edward was taken aback,

With his cold eyes, Rex then continues, ”Did you really think youʼre pure just because you saved that girl from the military? You never in your life mixed any kids into a problem?”

”What do you mean by that? I consider her as my sister!”, Edward said before he pulls back his arm.

BAM!

A solid punch landed on Rexʼs face as his face got forcefully turned to the left,

But this makes a hint of disappointment appeared in Rexʼs face, he then tilts his head back, ”Where do you think the fresh meat that we used during our last mission came from? Dying people?”

Hearing this, Edward loosened his pressure on Rexʼs neck as he stares at Rex with wide eyes.

”The military takes his meat after killing him swiftly, You and Kyle are the ones that told me that itʼs from a dying soldier... ”, Edward mumbles with a pale expression.

Rex tidied his clothes before he smiles, ”Of course, we know that you would react like this”

”After you saved that girl and took her away from being turned into a bait for the Ghouls, the military took another orphan instead of her”

”Ghouls likes young humans more, and the poor kid was killed and become the bait”

”What do you expect? You really think the military will just let it go?”

Edward steps back slowly as he canʼt believe what heʼs hearing, ”T-Thatʼs not possible... the Military shouldnʼt be this cruel. I donʼt believe it...”

”The kidʼs name is Dinda, a lovely little girl who dreamt of a world without war”

The unexpected news brought Edwardʼs eyes down to the floor as he didnʼt expect what he did to result in this, he was just trying to help but he didnʼt realize that it turned out like this.

Based on Rexʼs expression and tone, Edward knows that Rex is dead serious about this.

With a low voice, ”H-How do you know all of this?”

”The 10-year-old little girl volunteered to help in the Noob Box kitchen for about a month, Billy was close to her since the little girl noticed that Billy is always forced to do someoneʼs cleaning shift or got his share of food taken”, Rex said remembering the past.

He doesnʼt even notice Billyʼs getting bullied, but Dinda noticed it with just a month there.

Dindaʼs face is still clear in Rexʼs memory, especially her innocent smile.

But this makes Rexʼs expression turns gloomy, he doesnʼt want to remember this but Edward makes him, ”I also got close to her”, Rex said before clenching his jaw.

After saying that, Rex looks at Edwardʼs eyes with a reddened face.

”But because of you saving that girl, Dinda died...”

”And these hands”, Rex said while bringing his hands up before he added, ”These hands are the ones that swing the sword and killed her”

Edward can see Rexʼs hands trembling either from anger or regret, he doesnʼt know.

The realization makes Edward widen his eyes in shock,

It was not something that he ever thought about, he never wanted or expected something like this.

”Why?”, Edward asks lightly, he was in disbelief at what Rex did.

Hearing this, Rex clenched both of his hands and brought them down before he said, ”The military is not dumb, they know youʼre the one that saved the girl. And because of that, the Sergeant Major wanted to punish you and make you kill the girl yourself”

”But both Kyle and I know, you canʼt bear this kind of thing”

”That is why I was forced to kill Dinda...”

”Her innocent eyes that look at me with trust and confusion, I betrayed her innocent feelings the moment I swing my sword”

”Donʼt judge me one-sidedly, youʼre also not pure like you thought”, Rex said coldly.

Edward is already leaning on the wall feeling his body becomes weak, Rex then steps in front of him and said, ”As for Kyran, both of his sisters just died. His family also died”

”Heʼs determined to become stronger, he even pressured me to make him stronger. I simply helped him to become stronger. Kyran also already accepts that I turned him into a Supernatural, donʼt blame me blindly for what I did”

A moment later,

Rex and Edward got out of the emergency exit after their brief quarrel,

The revelation from Rex was too overwhelming for Edward, but they both finally agree to never speak of that topic again to not instigate the past. They didnʼt talk about it, they both just agree to never talk about this through eye contact and their facial expressions.

”Are you going to stay with us for a moment?”, Edward asks.

Hearing this, Rex glance at the table where the girl and the old man are sitting.

His eyes landed on the girl who is smiling happily before he closes his eyes and takes a deep breath before Rex shakes his head, ”No, Iʼm going to prepare for the mission from President Sebrof”

”Wait, What mission?”, Edward asks in confusion.

Rex looks at the time on his phone before he replied, ”I somehow manage to make the UWO and the SCO becomes an ally, and with the destruction of two strategic points of the Vampires. All of the Vampires attacking Eqosa City retreated, and this gives me and the other 25 Families descendants the time to wipe the remaining Undead”

”Wipe the remaining Undead? Just with the descendants?”, Edward asks.

No matter how he looks at it, the descendants of the 25 Golden Crest Families canʼt really fare with the remaining undead with only a few of them in the seventh rank realm.

So itʼs surprising to hear that President Sebrof only sent the descendants,

”Yes, Iʼm one of the leaders so Iʼm going to need to prepare since it seems president Sebrof is aiming at me”, Rex replied thinking about when Sebrof attacked him.

But upon hearing this, Edwardʼs expression turns into a frown.

Rex didnʼt realize this as he said, ”Iʼm going now, see you later”

Edward didnʼt hear this as he was thinking with a frown, but when he snapped back he suddenly realized that Rex is already far, ”I smell trouble from this”, he mutters silently.

A couple of hours later,

Rex got back to his room in Faraday University,

He was about to step into his room before he suddenly frown, ”Whereʼs Ari? I donʼt sense him around here”, he mumbles in confusion.

Usually, every time Rex nears his room he will sense Ariʼs presence.

But now, He didnʼt sense him anywhere which is odd but Rex shrugs his shoulders as he will ask Ari when they met before Rex enters his room.

After entering the room, Rex also didnʼt find anyone in here.

Ryze is not in the room but the butler told Rex that heʼs with Delta, Rex then enters his bedroom before he crashes onto the bed and opens the system shop.

ʼProtecting the descendants huhʼ, Rex thought as he filters the shop.

Since he needs to be protecting the descendants to make sure they didnʼt die, Rex needs to prepare because his skill or spell doesnʼt have many defensive properties that can help him in this mission.

Many of his spells or skills only gave protection to himself,

Because of the $120 million that Adhara gave from the contract that she made with Daniel Burton, Rex has about 1,1 million gold after reducing the purchases he made from before.

With this kind of gold, he can basically enhance himself greatly.

ʼShould I buy a defensive spell? Or equipment?ʼ, Rex contemplates as he scrolls the shop.

After thinking for a moment, Rex finally decided to buy equipment.

The reason for his decision is because he found equipment that has an interesting effect that can help him in this mission, he stumbles upon it coincidentally.

A robe that is made by the hide of a seventh rank mutated animal boasting its sturdiness, this robe was also imbued with a piece of feather from Ancient Draught Vulture a peak seventh rank mutated animal. The robe was light as a feather and strong enough to not be melted by lava.

Increase 100 Endurance and 45 Agility,

Gives an area effect of Absolute Defense that will increase the Endurance stat of any registered ally within the area.

By finding this Robe, Rex finds that there is certain equipment that has this kind of area effect that will definitely help him in doing the mission tomorrow.

ʼSystem, Can you recommend items that have this kind of effect?ʼ

Reading this, Rex added, ʼTake out if the equipment only has an effect on the wearer, and also get rid of equipment that is classified below the sixth rankʼ

After the system finished filtering the shop, Rex was shown the 17 pieces of equipment.

The equipment varies from each other but many of them are dimmed since it was too expensive for even the money Rex currently has, the expensive armor that he canʼt buy is the eighth rank and above which starts from 1,25 million gold.

It was a huge jump from seventh-rank equipment to the eighth rank which puzzled Rex.

Aside from the high-rank equipment, there are five pieces of equipment that he can buy which consists of two weapons, two armor, and one ring.

Rex scans the other three choices excluding the weapons,

Since he got the Amuerus Katana, heʼs not planning on getting another weapon for now.

Out of the two armor, one of them is the Robe that Rex read before while the other one is similar but the effect was to create an invisible shield to a designated place.

Itʼs like a force barrier but Rex can use it to protect someone,

ʼThis wonʼt do, I can only save one person at a time with this. It will not be effectiveʼ, Rex thought as he read the armorʼs description.

Then Rexʼs eyes fall on the last choice, the ring.

Tetuka is an ancient figure of humans that inherit the bloodline of the Atrocity Giants a race that is way older than Tetuka. Because of this, Tetukaʼs body becomes as hard as the sturdiest material there is, and his bones are like a Cord that can bend and nullify any attacks that target the bones.

This Ring was made by Tetuka himself by constantly feeding his energy to the ring for hundreds of years, he feed the ring until he breathes his last breath in the Tetuka Prominence.

Increase 150 Endurance Stats and 120 Strength Stats for the wearer,

Has the effect of giving 20% of the wearerʼs Endurance to anyone in the area of effect that the wearerʼs considered ally, their bones will also be sturdier but elastic which gives them resistant to breaking no matter how hard they got hit.

Reading this, Rex smiles as this Ring is perfect for him.

With this ring, not only the descendants in his team will be more durable but there will be no chance of their bones being broken and rendering them useless in a fight.

His Endurance right now is very high almost reaching his strength stat, so this is perfect.

Itʼs a very powerful ring, and Rex decided to buy it.

ʼ150,000?!ʼ, Rex shouted in surprise.

The price of the ring was very surprising that even Rex sucked in a cold breath upon seeing it, this ring even costs higher than Devo who is a high spirit.

ʼItʼs okay Rex, this is investmentsʼ, Rex thought trying to convince himself.

Since the ringʼs effect uses a percentage, this means that the ring will keep being useful and will not lose its value because Rex will definitely get stronger.

With a heavy heart, Rex then replied, ʼYesʼ

A couple of hours later,

Rex just bought information about the Undead and is currently reading it, the explanation is long since Rex also bought the information to counter Death Energy belonging to the Undead.

The hours passed doesnʼt feel like hours,

ʼAdhara should be back in a bit, letʼs get some airʼ, Rex thought as he walks out of the room.

While heʼs walking in the universityʼs hallway greeting the students that greet him, ʼSheʼs nearʼ, Rex thought after feeling that Adhara is near.

He decided to come to Adhara as well but then suddenly,

”Hmm?”, Rex looks back with a frown when he felt something was off.

CRASH!

A crashing sound suddenly can be heard from outside as Rex turns his body around in surprise, ”What is that?”, Rex mutters in confusion.

But then suddenly he realized, ”Isnʼt that where the gar-”, Rex stopped mid-sentence.

”Ryze!”, he shouted before he dashes away towards the loud crashing sound that came from.
