THE GOD EATER

Even though he was talking to them using a secret transmission, he still lowered his voice to say, ”We should keep this matter between us and execute it at the same time so that we can use it to catch Black Chain off guard. If each of us can produce one rank 9 disciple each, we will have 7 rank 9 enemies attacking the Four Directions Sect at the same time all over the Sea of Worlds.”

”Black Chain will be forced to interfere at that point. When he does, we will also descend with our avatars to fight him. With 7 disciples on our side, we will outnumber him 14 to 5. Even if he gets that Devouring Pathway and manages to create a sixth avatar, we will still outnumber him.”

”But if he refuses to descend, we will allow the rank 9 disciples to become Dao Lords. Then we will have enough manpower to bring the fight to him in the Third Heavens. No matter how strong he is, he is only one person. With 14 of us attacking him, we will surely defeat him.”

”Even if we can’t kill him, we will have enough power to pressure him to do what we want. If he refuses, we will let other super worlds advance and uproot every sign of the Four Directions Sect in the Sea of Worlds to force his hands.

The more Tepid Scholar spoke, the more encouraged the Dao Lords became about his plan. However, not every Dao Lord completely agreed with his plan. Some of them had some concerns which they didn’t hesitate to table.

Carefree Immortal was frowning as he said, ”I don’t think it is a good idea to create more Dao Lords. I believe that more Dao Lords will increase the competition for resources and make the Sea of Worlds more chaotic.”

At this point, Martial Will couldn’t hold back anymore. The Dao Lord of Martial Body Sect snorted and said, ”This is what I am talking about. Even before the new Dao Lords have arrived, you’ve admitted defeat. How can you defeat them when they eventually arrive with this mindset?”

Before Martial Will could continue to rant, Heavenly Eye cut him off by saying, ”Ignore the salty fellow. He doesn’t think too much. That’s why he has not considered the negative aspect of this plan as you have.”

”Yes, you’re right to consider the possibility that the rank 8 servants that we used to look down on can rise and turn against us. To solve this potential problem, I believe the solution is making more than one rank 9 tool and eating the extra to make ourselves stronger before allowing the last rank 9 tool to advance.”

But this wasn’t going to keep Martial Will from talking. He continued to say, ”If you already believe that a junior can become strong enough to kill you, then you should give up now. Since you have lost, you should retire while you can.”

Martial Will continued to say more about the dangers of a weak mindset, which prompted Sword Maestro to chuckle and say, ”Didn’t you ascend after Tepid Scholar? And don’t you claim that you’re stronger than Tepid Scholar? If what you claim is true, then an upstart can become stronger than their senior. What do you think Tepid Scholar should do now that you’re stronger than him?”

Without backing down, Martial Will said, ”I stand by what I said. Tepid Scholar should retire before I kill him.”

While the Dao Lords were planning and scheming, Loki was ascending into the third heaven. Unlike what he expected, the experience was pleasant.

His figure soared from the gray third dimension into what appeared to be a tunnel of light. At first, the tunnel was small. But as he went through it, the tunnel became bigger and wider.

His body also began to enlarge as he passed through the tunnel. It was as if the process of ascension was removing shackles and constraints that he wasn’t aware of before, letting him expand into his power.

The process felt like a wonderful massage, and his existence swelled figuratively with joy and literally with power. Even the Supreme Metac within him grew larger.

Without using the Power Identification Ability, he felt the Devouring Supreme Metac within him double in size. Then he felt it triple in size.

This process didn’t feel fake because the Devouring Supreme Metac was consuming his lifespan to grow. He could vividly feel the consumption of lifespan and the expansion of the Supreme Metac. But just to make sure that this wasn’t an illusion, he activated the Power Identification Ability to check.

With his advancement to Dao Lord, a lot has changed about him. In fact, everything about him seemed to have changed. There is hardly anything that has remained the same after his advancement.

His race has changed, his rank has changed, the Available Lifespan attribute changed to Energy, and he gained a new attribute called Entropy. Next, his Body, Soul, Will, Mind, and Insight Stats all made way for divine stats, with each point in a divine stat being the square root of his previous stats.

”If I had entered the third heaven as a divine being, I would really have been at a disadvantage from this,” he said with a click of his tongue. ”Fortunately, I held back until I was truly ready.”
