THE GOD EATER

With his decision made, he took one last look at Fenrir. Then his mind left the core space and returned to controlling his body.

By this time, everyone was beginning to stir. Muni had the strongest mind among them, so he was the first to wake up.

Muni had woken up for a while. But the man had bowed his head and said nothing because Loki had his eyes closed and was busy thinking.

When Loki finally opened his eyes, he saw Muni standing nearby. So he said, “Let’s go.”

Muni agreed with him immediately. He didn’t ask where they were going at all. His instinct was to agree and keep his questions to himself.

Muni took him to register at the sect ground. Then they went their separate ways.

He didn’t go to the market in the sect grounds because he thought that it would be more efficient for him to get what he wanted outside the sect grounds in the central market.

The time he will spend in the market in the sect grounds, all to earn 1 million energy stones, now seems too much for him. He is now confident that he can earn money faster outside of the sect grounds.

As Muni left, Loki watched him go while wondering if he should use the Nanite Metac on Muni. After thinking about it, he shook his head and said, ’Muni is only rank 3, so the result won’t be that useful to me.’

’If only he were rank 4, I might consider it. So I have to let him go.’

Muni didn’t know that he had escaped from Loki because he was too weak to be useful. However, his ignorance didn’t stop him from sighing in relief after he left Loki.

On the other side, Loki entered an alley when he got into the city. Then he used the Nanite Metac to change his appearance again.

After he changed his appearance, he went to the central market. The first thing he did there was to borrow money.

He pretended to be a rank 4 cultivator and was able to borrow 10 million energy stones. Then he used this money to gamble.

After earning some money, he went to buy some Branch Metacs. But he didn’t go and fight someone with the Branch Metacs. Instead, he found a room to sit in and practice his energy manipulation skill.

He wants to advance to rank 6 as soon as possible, but he can’t advance now, even if the opportunity were dropped into his lap, simply because he hasn’t met all of the requirements yet.

He has yet to reach the limit of 500% energy manipulation skill. Currently, he has only reached 439%. So he has 61% left to go. This is why he decided to spend some time fixing this problem.

He expects that with his new and improved talent, it would take him about a year to accumulate 61% more energy manipulation skill. However, training revealed that he didn’t need that much to achieve it.

As soon as he tried controlling Metacs, he received seamless feedback from every Metac. The sensation was as if there was no gap between him and the Branch Metacs again.

It was as if he had been controlling Metacs with a lag and delay in the connection before. But now all of the lag had disappeared. He knew that this must have something to do with his Cave Heaven.

His Cave Heaven granted him perfect control of Metacs. But he wasn’t sure if this was solely as a result of the superiority of his Cave Heaven over Metacs or if Fenrir’s new state as the heart of a world had something to do with it.

Anyway, as he controlled Branch Metacs, he felt his skill of manipulation soar every minute. He gained an average of 1% every minute, so all it took him was one hour to complete his obstacle.

Even after it was done, he still couldn’t believe that the skill of energy manipulation was so easy to acquire. But when he thought about it, he felt it was a little bit reasonable for this to be the case.

After trying to figure out why it had been easy for him to achieve 500% of energy manipulation skill, he came to a conclusion and said, ’It has to be something about the Cave Heaven. A Cave Heaven controlling Metacs is like a puppeteer controlling sock puppets. It is a dimensional reductive influence where intent is translated into action without any loss or misunderstanding during the translation process.’

’Normally, those who have Cave Heavens already have 500% energy manipulation skill. So they might not notice the ease with which they control Metacs. But I am an outlier who got the Cave Heaven through Fenrir, which is why I get to enjoy this benefit so well.’

Then he smiled and said, ’Since I don’t have to hole myself up cultivating anymore, I should get on with planning how to ask for that golden divine being’s help in ascending to become a divine being myself.’

The way he put what he had in store for the golden divine being amused him so much that he laughed. As he laughed, he stood up and left his room.

He went into the city and used the new Branch Metacs he bought an hour ago to find Rusty. When he found the master of the Rusty Bolts Society, he took over the man’s mind.

He took over Rusty’s mind for two reasons. The first one is to have Rusty send all of the money in his account to Loki.

After Rusty did this, he sent Rusty to heaven to help him buy the rank 5 Branch Metacs that he needed. This is the second reason that he hijacked Rusty’s mind.

While Rusty went to buy the Branch Metacs that he needed, he continued to roam around the city searching for rank 4 cultivators. When he found them, he would hijack their minds and use the Hypnotize Metac to coerce them into giving him their money.
