THE GOD EATER

At that point, a medium world can double the innate potential of its world guardians. So a creature with a potential of 80 units will have a Power Core of 160 units after they become a world guardian.

As if that isn’t bad enough, the medium world can also raise the talent of its world guardians all the way to the limit of 100 units. So their Power Core can reach 200 units.

The extra power that the world grants the world guardians is why the world guardians can wield forces of nature. In the case of the storm god, the extra power from the world is why it can control storms in this world.

When a small world becomes a medium world, the medium world will cut down on the number of world guardians it can have so that it can double the power of its world guardians. So the mark of a medium world is the shift from prioritizing quantity to prioritizing quality.

These privileges are why the world guardians of medium worlds are much stronger than rank 5 cultivators. This shouldn’t have been so if rank 5 cultivators were allowed to become dragons.

Large worlds can produce dragons by increasing the talent of their chosen world guardians all the way to 1,000 units. With this kind of power, the power of rank 5 cultivators won’t be so insignificant compared to the power of divine beings.

At the very least, divine beings won’t be able to suppress them with their Cave Heaven without risking massive destruction to their Cave Heaven. So divine beings will have to use their precious lifespan to attack rank 5 cultivators. This will force divine beings to take them seriously, not treat them as insignificant ants.

She doesn’t know exactly how the divine beings had done this or when they did it or who exactly robbed her of her right, but whenever she thinks about what she is losing out on, she can’t help but curse the divine beings.

But cursing is the only thing that she can do now. And even when she curses, she has to be silent about it for fear of being exposed.

After cursing, she found a cave to hide in. She doesn’t plan to leave the cave until one month later, when the Heavenly Battlefield will end if there is no winner.

However, as bad as things were, not everyone was in danger of dying. Some people were lucky to encounter world guardians that they could resist.

The rank 5 pill refiner is an example of this lucky situation. She encountered the fire god because she set fire to a forest.

The fire god is a giant winged red python. Its usual mode of attack is to create large balls of fire that it hurls at its enemy. It has been doing so to the rank 5 pill refiner.

The pill refiner is running ahead while the fire god chases her from behind. There are large balls of red fire as big as three-story buildings rotating around the fire god. The fire god throws these balls of fire at her while replenishing them by exhaling flames.

She couldn’t dodge all of the balls of fire and was struck by them many times. But she was able to survive by using her Life Ability to block the balls of Fire.

Her Life Ability is the Pill Fire Ability. Its manifestation is a blue flame that she can use to attack enemies.

By throwing the blue flame at the balls of fire, she can detonate them or redirect them from hitting her. She can also consume the balls of fire and turn them against the fire god.

When she consumed a ball of fire, it turned into a blue ball of fire. Then she threw the ball of fire back at the fire god.

But her attack didn’t hit the fire god because the giant body of the fire god scattered into many tiny snakes of fire. The snakes of fire scattered in various directions and effectively avoided the ball of fire. Then the flames recombined into the body of the fire god.

The fire god decided to increase the pressure on her when it realized that its current tactics weren’t working. Instead of throwing the balls of fire at her, it sent them above her. Then it controlled the ball of fire to rain down at her as spears of fire.

This time, the attacks were too fast and too many for her to avoid or deflect with her Life Ability. She could only block them by turning the blue fire into a canopy above her head. But the power of the spears of fire was too strong, so she couldn’t block for long.

In her desperation to escape death, she flew to the ground and entered it. She dug through the ground so that she would escape from the god of fire.

But the god of fire wasn’t helpless against this tactic. The flying giant python liquified its body and turned into lava. Then the lava seeped into the ground and pursued her.

The two of them had slowed down after entering the ground, but the fire god was faster because it could flow through the tunnels that she had dug, while she had to overcome the resistance of the soil and dig tunnels.

This situation made it so that the fire god was catching up to her faster than before, instead of being unable to continue chasing her because of its large size. She realized that she had underestimated the fire god, so she rushed back to the surface to avoid being caught.

The fire god also came up to the surface to continue chasing her. When it did, it transformed back into its giant python form. But when it was done transforming, she had already created some distance between them.

The fire god didn’t mind the increase in the distance between them. It only sneered as it created giant balls of fire and sent them up into the sky to rain down as spears of fire.
