THE GOD EATER

However, someone from a divine family who has the bloodline of their ancestor would never be able to disobey that divine being. Not unless they are a divine being themselves.

So if Kelvin somehow manages to refine a Divine Metac, he will have to give it up when that divine being asks for it. The only way out for him would be to sever the bloodline by committing suicide and reincarnating anew. But that is unlikely to stop a divine being from getting the Divine Metac from him.

The more she thought about it, the more amused she became. She chuckled as she said, “Nothing in this world is free. You can’t use the power of a divine being to ascend to rank 5 so quickly without having to give anything up.”

“I wish I could see his face when that forger kills him. But at least I can comfort myself with the fact that none of them can win.”

She had a smug smile on her face as she said this. She was truly proud of her scheme to set the two of them up.

If Kelvin defeats that rank 4 forger and gets a mutated Life Ability, he will never be able to use that mutated Life Ability to become a divine being because of the person who owns his bloodline.

On the other hand, if the rank 4 forger wins and kills Kelvin, the person who owns Kelvin’s bloodline will surely be angry and will kill the rank 4 forger for taking away one of his powerful tools.

So, unless the two of them work together somehow, which is unlikely to happen, the only outcome will be a loss for both sides. This put a smile on her face.

The only thing better would be if she got to see Kelvin’s face while whatever bad that is going to happen happens to him. She really hates him because he is a new rank 5 being who accomplished his cultivation so quickly and so easily because of his family background.

Kelvin is unlike her, who had to struggle to achieve her cultivation and has been struggling ever since to maintain her cultivation across 15 lifetimes. This is something that Kelvin has mentioned several times as a way to look down on her, and she would like him to choke on those words by regretting that he belongs to a divine family.

The thought brought a smile to her face as she searched for the world guardians. She wasn’t the only one who was searching for the world guardians. Practically every rank 5 cultivator still alive was searching for the guardians and hoping to get the symbol of authority of this world.

But when it comes to searching, there is one group of cultivators who are best at it. This group of people is currently led by a rank 5 cultivator with a third eye on his forehead.

This rank 5 seer is different from the other seers because he seems to have a galaxy of stars in his third eye. This third eye is shiny with white starlight, and there is a white, glowing, swirling Milky Way in the third eye.

Currently, this rank 5 cultivator is walking through a series of tunnels deep under the ground beneath a city. He is alone, so only the sounds of his footsteps could be heard.

He is wearing a blue robe to match the starlight in his eyes. His hair is very long and needs to be tied into a bun on his head so as not to obscure his vision when he moves around.

The tunnels are dark, with visibility so absent that one shouldn’t be able to see one’s hand if it were placed right before their face. But he can see fine without any problems.

The tunnels are also windy, with tunnels that loop on each other or end in dead ends. So it can be said that the tunnel system is a maze. But this arrangement doesn’t seem to affect him as he can always find his way, and he can always reach his destination in the shortest way possible.

However, the most dangerous aspect of this tunnel system is the sound of wind moving through the tunnels and passing through the holes in the wall. This sound is dangerous because it causes confusion in the minds of those who hear it.

The confusion caused by the sound of moving air can be sorrowful at times or playful at other times. The sound is so impactful that it can induce emotions in its listeners and make them see things that aren’t there or experience things that never happened.

This hallucinating effect is all because the sound is imbued with a mental attack. So, anyone not powerful enough who enters these tunnels will die. There are many skeletons on the ground to prove this point.

But all of these don’t seem to affect this man. He passed through the tunnel unbothered as if he were on a vacation.

He never walked into a dead end. And when he encountered a dead end, he knew where to pull a switch that lowers the wall and proves that the dead end was never a dead end but a secret passage.

He knew how to avoid the traps, even though there was no light to see. The light from his third eye appeared to be good enough for him. This light could penetrate walls and help him see through illusions.

Like the stars guided the way for travelers and sailors, the stars in his eyes also guide his way. This is the effect of the Star Divination Life Ability of the pathway of truth.

Seers who possess this Star Divination Life Ability are said to be the best at finding anything and anyone. Even other seers have to concede defeat in this aspect.

This Life Ability is why this three-eyed man can move through a dark system of tunnels with confidence.
