THE GOD EATER

Unfortunately for them, their lack of understanding, their confusion, and the unreasonableness of the situation weren’t going to prevent the energy shield from failing, and it wasn’t going to do anything to stop the hail of bullets sweeping through them.

As Loki watched, everything before him was torn to shreds. Even the ground below wasn’t spared from the carnage.

Even though the ground had been compacted, it was still torn open, cratered with pits everywhere, and turned upside down by explosions.

None of the rank 4 cultivators could resist being turned into a shower of shattered body parts and blood by his gun. He only needed to graze them with the bullets for them to be shot into a sieve, leaking blood everywhere.

Not even the rank 4 pill refiner with the Level 5 Dao Status could withstand the onslaught of bullets. He was still dumbfounded as the bullets smashed into him and tore him apart. His pill cauldron disappeared once he was dead, but this hardly mattered at this point.

Only the two rank 5 cultivators could resist his attack. But it was only a brief resistance for the array master.

The resistance of the array master only lasted 0.2 seconds before he became unable to withstand the power of the attacks and soon became shattered body parts. As short as his period of resistance was, it was infinitely longer than the duration of resistance of the others, since they couldn’t last for 0 seconds.

So his resistance for 0.2 seconds is impressive in this situation. Unfortunately for him, his resistance wasn’t good enough.

After his body was broken apart, the red lightning coating the bullets swept through his shattered body parts and turned it into white ashes. His mental world also didn’t escape this fate.

Only the rank 5 talisman master could withstand the hail of bullets for a significant amount of time. But this wasn’t because she was very powerful, but because her Life Ability, Talisman Arsenal, made it so that she couldn’t be killed instantly.

The Talisman Arsenal Life Ability had lined up many shield talismans for activation and was activating them as soon as one was destroyed by gunfire. This was why the shield around her was flashing again and again as bullets struck it.

She didn’t stay still, though. She was moving around to avoid the storm of bullets.

Her evasive maneuvers are a smart thing to do. What wasn’t a smart thing to do in this situation was that she didn’t choose to escape. For some reason, she was approaching Loki instead of moving away from him.

Instead of creating more distance between them, she was closing the distance between them. Loki saw this and sneered. Then he retreated from her rapidly and widened the distance between them.

If he hadn’t seen what he saw in the previous timeline, he would be bewildered by her current actions and let her get close to him. But he knew what she was up to, so he widened the distance between them as fast as he could. He did so while shooting at her.

He was a little bit tempted to withstand the power of her trump card and save it for future use. But when he thought about this plan, he shook his head inwardly and said to himself, ’It is too dangerous. The power of that thing is more than a million units. There is just no way to withstand that kind of power.’

’Even in my current empowered state, something like that will still kill me. And even if I don’t die and manage to save the power of the attack, I will only be able to save it for as long as this woman is alive.’

’Once she dies, I will lose the stored power in the Vengeful Bones Metac. It isn’t the Reversal Metac after all. I can’t use the Vengeful Bones to save an attack to use whenever I want to.’

While he was thinking about that dangerous and risky plan, he was still shooting at her. She, too, was shooting white beams of energy at him. But her offense wasn’t as effective as his.

When she realized that there was no way to get close to him, she sighed in defeat. Then she took out the white talisman and pinched it forcefully.

This time, she overloaded the white talisman with energy. She did this in order to make it explode. It wasn’t the normal process of activation for her at all.

As the white talisman exploded, she pointed it at the space before her. So as the white threads erupted from the white talisman, it crashed into empty space before it exploded in a blinding flash.

The explosion was white, round, and very bright, so it looked like a white dwarf star had appeared in the world. The clouds in the sky were pushed apart by the expanding air that the dwarf star created before they were evaporated by the heat of the star.

Then the ground beneath them was crushed by the pressure of the rapidly expanding air, since it didn’t have anywhere to go, like the clouds in the sky. Next, the heat of the explosion melted the ground, turned it into lava, and caused the lake of lava to expand as more of the surface of the ground was melted.

Loki was at the edge of the explosion, so even though the heat struck him, it was not much. The expanding air also pushed him away, so he avoided most of the explosion.

When he regained his bearing, he shook his head and said, “A hydrogen bomb has nothing on that. In fact, a hydrogen bomb wishes it were that powerful.”

When he looked at the sight of the explosion, a colossal mushroom cloud had been created in the air above the site of the explosion. As for the ground beneath the explosion, an area more than 10 kilometers in diameter had been turned into a lake of lava.
