THE GOD EATER

In theory, when the Sword Deflect Metac is used, he and his sword should not sustain any damage when his power is more than half of the power of the attack. So if the deflection is successful, he should be completely unscathed.

But for some reason, the bullets are still destroying his sword. Whenever the bullets clash with his sword, they leave behind red lightning that lingers on his sword and continues to cut his sword even after the clash.

This inexplicable phenomenon is gradually eroding the structural integrity of his sword. So he will soon lose his sword, and when that happens, he will be doomed.

A killer who loses their sword will still possess more than 90% of their power because they don’t need a sword to fight. A killer can fight with their bare hands. They can even fight with a stick, because the Weapon Seed Core Metac will convert everything they have at hand into a weapon.

But if a pure swordsman like him loses their sword, they will lose more than 90% of their power. This is because a swordsman is nothing without a sword.

The clash between him and this strange enemy has lasted for less than six seconds. But he doubts that he can continue to fight for four seconds more.

He expects his sword to break in less than four seconds, so he shouted to his companion, saying, “Don’t just stand there and watch. Help me.”

The black-robed swordsman was startled by his cry for help. He didn’t expect to hear it because he thought that his partner had everything under control.

But since his partner had called for help, he decided to get involved and help out. He held his sword with both of his hands and swung it at Loki.

His sword produced a red crescent energy that shot at Loki. This energy blade had a red color that was identical to the color of the red lightning around the bullets.

He swung his sword at Loki many times. Each time, he created an energy blade that flew towards Loki.

In response to this attack, Loki let loose the energy bomb that he had been preparing all along.

The two cannons in his extra hands had been compressing and exciting red lightning since the fight started. He was compressing as much energy as possible so that the range of the resulting explosion would increase.

But now that they wanted to gang up on him, he decided to let them see that he wasn’t a pushover. He shot two red spherical energy bombs at both swordsmen, one for each of them.

The white-robed swordsman couldn’t avoid the energy bomb because he was embroiled in deflecting the bullets. If he dared to turn his back to run, he would be shot through and turned to swish cheese in the blink of an eye.

He could only try to deflect this energy bomb as he did for the bullets. So the red ball of lightning clashed with his cracked sword and exploded in his face.

The explosion created an eruption of red plasma that was silent, yet deadly. The red plasma didn’t cause sound to expand and vibrate as a normal explosion would. But it cut and shredded anything that it came into contact with.

The white-robed swordsman couldn’t deflect this kind of attack and was submerged by the power of the explosion. When the explosion settled down, there was nothing left of him. Not even the hilt of his sword survived the annihilation.

As for the black-robed swordsman, he had the opportunity to make the ball of lightning explode before it reached him by cutting it with an energy blade. But the explosion was still able to submerge him because its range was too wide.

Since he wasn’t close to the center of the explosion and had used the Blood Escape Metac, he was able to avoid the brunt of the damage.

The Blood Escape Metac turned his body into a red streak of light that enhanced his speed and reduced the area of his body that was touched by the attack.

In fact, the explosion had only touched him lightly. He had avoided most of it, so he wasn’t injured much.

However, the explosion possesses elements of the Killing Pathway, which takes effect when the target is touched and harmed. In his case, the things that took effect were the Splitting Edge Metac, Bleed Metac, Sting Metac, Weakness Metac, Multiple Strike Metac, and the Compound Damage Metac.

Of these six Core Metacs and Branch Metacs, the most prominent one is the Splitting Edge Metac, which can cut anything, including attacks, spirits, and energy forms based on blood or light.

So the red streak of light that he became couldn’t help him avoid the attack entirely. He was still cut by it, and now the Bleed Metac is making that cut bleed incessantly.

On top of that, the Sting Metac converts every physical damage received by an enemy into mental damage, too. Then the Weakness Metac made him weaker than he was by 5%.

The Multiple Strike Metac compresses more than one attack into a single attack, so that whoever is touched by the single attack would actually experience more than one attack. Since he had used a rank 5 Multiple Strike Metac, there were an extra 5 attacks, so what appeared to be a single attack that should have created a single cut on his body actually created six cuts instead.

Finally, the Compound Damage Metac, which increases the damage that an enemy sustains with each subsequent attack, ensured that the amount of damage that he received for the six cuts on his back increased in magnitude from an extra 5% for each subsequent attack.

So the sixth cut actually dealt 25% more damage than the first cut. The Weakness Metac also ensured that he weakened by 30% for all six cuts. Then the Sting Metac made sure to convert all of these into mental attacks, too.
