THE GOD EATER

After the explosion, the white beam cleared away the cloud of red lightning in the sky and punched a hole through it. Then it rushed towards Loki.

The white beam was unable to reach Loki’s position, though. But the fact that it could clear out a path through the explosion of the red lightning like that proved that she was more powerful than whoever was creating the red balls of lightning.

Loki wasn’t surprised to see this. He knew that the power output of his guns was a maximum of 5(Dao Status) × (4(Telekinesis Metac) + 4(Splitting Edge)) × (5(Life Ability) + 5(Mind) + 5(Will) + 4(Soul) + 450% Energy Well) × (5(Living Armament) + 5(Energy Amplifier) + 5(Force Lever) + 5(Lightning Engine) + 5(Bleed) + 5(Sting) + 5(Weakness) + 5(Multiple Strike) + 5(Compound Damage)) × (335% Overdrive + 450% Energy Nexus), which is 332,055 units.

On the other hand, the average power output of a rank 5 cultivator is 5(Dao Status) × 5(Cultivation) × 100(Stats) × 25(Metacs) × 5.9(Overload), which is 368,750 units. So his long-range attacks can’t compare in power to hers and should be overwhelmed in a clash.

However, expecting it didn’t mean that he was willing to accept defeat at this point. So he said to himself, “If long range won’t do it, I will just have to resort to getting up close and personal. As long as I avoid that trump card of hers, I should be fine.”

After saying this, he took off into the air to approach the yellow barrier.

He had chosen to attack from a long distance in the first place because he didn’t want that white silk with power fluctuations in the millions to touch him. The power of that attack is so powerful that he isn’t sure that his consciousness will be able to escape into the River of Time if the attack kills him.

But being afraid doesn’t mean that he is willing to give up. He simply can’t give up right now when he just recently killed a swordsman.

The sword cultivator had been able to produce power far greater than the average of 368,750 units because the Sword Heart Core Metac could produce power with his body, mind, and will, compared to others who could not. If such a person had been killed by him, then these cultivators with second-rate power output should also fall to him.

That’s what he thought, but his enemies thought otherwise. In fact, they thought that he was foolish.

When they saw him approaching, they began to laugh. The rank 4 pill refiner said, “How foolish. We couldn’t harm him there, and he somehow thought that meant it was because we couldn’t do anything to him.”

Then he pointed at Loki as he said to the talisman master, “Please erase this nuisance from the surface of the world so that we may return to completing our great mission.”

The talisman master smiled and said in reply, “My pleasure.”

Her attack has the longest range among the three of them, so she was designated to kill Loki. This was why Loki was immediately struck by a white beam as soon as he got close to them.

Loki was familiar with this attack as he had experienced it in his previous timeline. Of course, at that time, he was controlling someone weak who couldn’t resist the attack for more than two seconds. But this time, things were different.

This time, the power of his defense is 5(Dao Status) × (4(Telekinesis Metac) + 4(Vengeful Bones)) × (5(Body) + 5(Life Ability) + 5(Mind) + 5(Will) + 4(Soul) + 450% Energy Well) × (5(Body Lever) + 5(Living Armament) + 5(Energy Amplifier) + 5(Force Lever) + 5(Lightning Engine) + 5(Bull Strength) + 5(Rhino Strength) + 5(Crocodile Strength) + 5(Bear Strength) + 5(Elephant Strength)) × (335% Overdrive + 450% Energy Nexus), which is 447,450 units.

So the attack of 368,750 units couldn’t overwhelm him in less than two seconds. The white beam of light raged and roared as it crashed into him, but it couldn’t break his defense.

The white beam had to break apart and wash over him impotently as if it were water, not an attack as corrosive as acid. His figure was able to continue moving forward despite facing the attack squarely.

Of course, this outcome wasn’t cheap for Loki to accomplish. The use of all that Metacs consumed a lot of energy. But all of the energy expenditure became worth it when the Vengeful Metac took effect.

Since the Vengeful Metal had taken effect, he decided to swap out his rail guns with gatling guns. This caused the rail guns on his shoulders to liquify before they morphed into ten gun barrels arranged in a circle.

Once the gattling guns were set up, he unleashed them on the barrier before him. This caused a storm of bullets to smash into the barrier at a rate of 6,000 per minute, with each bullet possessing a power of 700,805 units.

The situation for the people of the Myriad Phenomenon Sect quickly became precarious once the gattling guns were unleashed on them. This was because each attack that struck the energy shield this time was far greater than its limit.

Not only that, but the attacks were striking the energy shield at a rate of 100 per second, and each attack struck with the power of 6 attacks at once. Plus there were two gattling guns, so the shield was being struck at the rate of 200 bullets per second.

So it was not a wonder that the energy shield broke in less than a second. The people hiding beneath the energy shield were definitely surprised by this turn of events, though.

Even after the energy shield shattered and crashed, they still had looks of confusion on their faces. They stood there with blank faces, trying to understand what had happened.

They thought that they had made enough preparations and should be able to hold out for a long time. This confidence was backed by the fact that the arrays here are being supplied with energy by everyone. So, unless they all run out of energy, the energy shield would never be exhausted.
