The First Store System

Chapter 848: A Big Surprise!!!

As Aakesh got his head pierced, the world around him turned dark.

When the light returned, he felt a strong suction force trying to suck him inside. As Aakesh freed himself, he appeared in the selection area the next moment.

The voice of the Elf still lingered in his head.

”Hey, system, was that a living participant?” As it was the first time he had heard a participantʼs name, Aakesh asked the system.

[Yes, Host, Selena is the three thousandth ranked Cosmic Elf in the ranking of the Cosmic Elves!]

Aakesh nodded after hearing the systemʼs response. At the same time, he became excited about the future.

It was the first time Aakesh faced off against a living participant in the battle round.

Selena didnʼt know that if she had succeeded in shaking off the call for the third time, the call would have disappeared.

Selena wasnʼt the first to be approached by the system in this way to help battle against Aakesh. She was only the first to fail the three callings.

Selena had great talent, but her willpower wasnʼt strong, so she became the first living person to battle Aakesh in the virtual training area.

It didnʼt mean that the number of creatures Aakesh met in his training were dead. They were still alive, but what Aakesh faced was their energy signature left at some point in time.

Aakesh then asked the system some more questions. After he got all his answers, he looked straight ahead and saw Lily sitting on her chair, waiting for him.

Even though Aakesh had only fought ninety-eight rounds today, which was less than the number of stages he had crossed in two days, the time taken today was still more.

A smile spread across Aakeshʼs face as he forgot about training and approached Lily. He sat on his chair and then began to share their dayʼs experiences.

Lily mostly talked about the betrayal she had received yesterday and what she had done to catch the traitor, while Aakesh spoke about his training.

As their discussion came to an end, a white light covered the duo. The next moment, they appeared in the storeʼs hall. Not long after, Aakeshʼs chair also returned, while Lilyʼs chair was placed in the systemʼs space.

Lily then summoned the door and left for Panagea through her exclusive virtual portal.

Aakeshʼs smile disappeared after she left. He then turned around and proceeded in the direction of the portal room.

Aakeshʼs class was on the verge of upgrading. It was a few daysʼ worth of events away from the limit, or it could also happen if he were to come across a heaven-defying event.

Since there was no leaderboard currently available, Aakesh went straight to the closest virtual portal. He touched it with only the tip of his finger, and the next moment, a suction force stronger than anything appeared and sucked him inside.

The next moment, Aakesh appeared in a room. Since Aakesh had been in that city for the past several years, he had booked a room in an inn for himself.

Whenever he was inside the city when the systemʼs alert arrived, he would return to the booked room and exit Panagea.

It was currently nighttime in Radeon City. This place followed a thirty-hour day and night cycle from the sunrise to the next dayʼs sunrise, seventeen-hour days, while the remaining thirteen hours were dark.

From looking at the clock placed in the room, Aakesh found the time to be 23:43. There were around six hours left before sunrise.

At this time of the night, the market wouldnʼt be very active.

Since the nightʼs darkness was the best time to hide the glamor of the pleasure, the casinos were mostly busy at this time in the city.

Watching over an event in which a participant won money even at the casino would result in Aakesh gaining some experience. Since this was the best Aakesh could get at this time, he proceeded in that direction.

The casino street was around a few miles away from the inn in which Aakesh lived, so it only took him a few seconds to cover that distance.

The street housing casinos brought large wealth to the city administration since the taxes levied on the winners were high.

Aakesh didnʼt need to travel this distance since he could easily cover this area while seated in his inn room.

But since there were chances that the event could suddenly activate and Aakesh might lose the event, he traveled.

As Aakesh stood at one end of the street, he activated the skill, Universal Eye.

The next moment, a real-time 3D projection of every living thing present in the radius of eleven yojanas appeared in front of Aakesh.

This area was large enough to cover one-hundredth of the city, but when the next screen appeared, the space on the screen turned smaller.

The skill Fortune Eye covered the entire casino street. Aakesh couldnʼt see the fortune lines of every person on the screen since there were many cultivators, who were grayed out due to the skill Universal Eyeʼs limit.

There werenʼt many people active on the screen since mostly the rich came to these streets. Only they were able to earn enough for Aakesh to gain anything by witnessing the event. The powerful were usually wealthy, so Aakesh couldnʼt watch their fate lines.

Aakesh chose the one with the most golden lines on the screen and began watching over the events that were happening.

Time flew by, and Aakesh continued to feel his class getting closer to its upgrade from watching over the people earning money.

Aakeshʼs level had been stuck at one level for a long time due to his fully focusing on upgrading his class. Even though these events werenʼt worth much, the quantity equaled the quality.

There was only around an hour left before sunrise when suddenly Aakeshʼs eyes flew wide open in surprise.

After watching the man earn money, Aakesh reactivated the skill Fortune Eye to find another candidate.

The next moment, a golden screen covering a radius of one yojana around Aakesh appeared in front of him.

Aakesh was looking over the fate lines of the people present across the street when he suddenly came across a cluster of golden lines connected to a man.
