The First Store System

Chapter 678: Starting Over(1)

Within a short time of completing the payment for all five grades of the Art of the Doom, five physical books appeared in her hands. Johanna excitedly took a look at the mortal grade Art of the Doom.

She couldn’t help but feel a tense wave attacking her. She had decided to start over, but it wasn’t going to be as simple as that.

To start over, Johanna would have to cripple her cultivation and then restore it using heavenly materials. It was also going to cost a lot. But Johanna didn’t worry about the cost since if her father found out about this, he would himself bring all the materials she would need.

What made Johanna feel tense was the risks that came with starting over. Even though the cultivation art had a success rate of ninety-nine percent, for it, she would have to become an Immortal first. If she failed to reach that stage, then even if the success rate achieved the ideal one hundred percent, it wouldn’t mean anything to her at that time.

Johanna stopped thinking about it for now since she was still standing in front of the mysterious store owner and knew how large a crowd was waiting behind her.

“Thank you, store owner,” Johanna slightly bowed and thanked Aakesh.

Aakesh only expressionlessly nodded in response to her thanks. She then turned around and left the queue.

Johanna didn’t leave the store right away since she had a supreme card, and she would directly teleport to her father’s house after departing from here.

Johanna had changed her cultivation art without even discussing it with her father. She had seen how disappointed her father was in her for not even talking to him about it before doing it when he had done everything Johanna had hoped for in her life.

Johanna wasn’t going to commit the same mistake again. This time she would tell her father about it and then start over.

She only needed to make her mind strong since starting over could also result in her death.

To cripple herself, Johanna would need to destroy the pocket space she had. The pocket space had emerged from the combination of the Palaces she had created when she was a Tao Palace level cultivator.

If Johanna were to destroy it, it would mean giving up on the Tao that she had worked so hard to conquer.

Crippling the cultivation would mean that her past Tao would banish her from having contact with it, so she would also have to start practicing for another Tao.

Johanna could also do this since the cultivation art would help her find another Tao even more powerful Tao for her to meditate upon. What made Johanna more worried was the risk of dying.

Crippling herself wouldn’t come without any injury, and it wouldn’t be any surprise if she died as a result.

There was another point to worry about; it was the lifespan. Johanna was around seventeen thousand years old, and if she were to cripple herself, she would not only lose her Immortality but would also become a regular being.

Johanna’s race didn’t have a lifespan of seventeen thousand years when they were regular, so she could also die out of life exhaustion if she succeeded in surviving the crippling.

There were several more risks attached to it, but as she began considering them, the content of the mortal grade Art of the Doom appeared in her mind. The next moment, all her considerations vanished.

Johanna then took a deep breath as she was going to talk to her father next. It would be even more challenging than becoming an Immortal for her to make her father see the benefits of starting over.

The next moment, a light engulfed her, which was invisible to everyone except for Aakesh.

When the light disappeared, Johanna had also disappeared with it. The next moment, Johanna found the view in her sight changing as she found herself in a familiar place.

“Oh, I didn’t expect you would be coming to meet this old man,” The next moment, a familiar voice rang in Johanna’s head.

A smile appeared on Johanna’s face as she turned around and found her father looking at her with a mixture of surprise and sincerity in his smile.

Johanna’s father didn’t like anything more than meeting his daughter, so Johanna’s sudden arrival was similar to euphoria for him.

Johanna bowed with her hands on her head, almost touching the ground with her head since it was a gesture of showing respect to the elders in her family.

“Stand up! You don’t need to touch the ground,” Johanna’s father smilingly added before the hand on Johanna’s head could touch the ground.

Johanna didn’t stop and touched the ground.

“What do you want from me?” Johanna’s father suddenly asked. He didn’t even give enough time to his daughter to stand straight.

“How did you know it?” Johanna asked with a surprised expression on her face as she stood up.

“Don’t think I don’t know what you’re trying to do here,” Johanna’s father responded, ignoring his daughter’s questions.

“You do it every time. Whenever you need something, you would always touch the ground with your hands despite me telling you not to,” Johanna’s father replied.

“You already know about me knowing this antic of yours, but you still do it since I would ask you what you want, removing the awkwardness you have in your heart for starting the conversation,” Johanna’s father added.

“Ouch!” The next moment, Johanna groaned in pain. She was about to stick her tongue out, but she froze midway with half her tongue out.

“Why did you hit me?” Johanna asked her father as she knew it was him. Her father would always flick on his head. He would use his superior cultivation to do that, so she wouldn’t even be able to catch him.

“Did you see me hit you?” As expected, her father asked.

Johanna couldn’t help but scoff in response since she had already gotten used to this antic of her father.

“So, what brought you here to meet me?” The smile disappeared from Johanna’s father’s face as he asked. He could sense that there was something abnormal going on right now. If his daughter needed money, she would have already asked for it, ignoring the flick to her head.
