The Devil Does Not Need to Be Defeated

Chapter 347: “Marriage Doesn’t Seem So Bad.”

“What? Do you also find her unpleasant?”

Seeing Lucy’s unhappy expression on the screen, Shien became intrigued.

However, Lucy’s answer was somewhat subtle.

“It’s not that I find her unpleasant, at least that’s what I think.” Lucy frowned, sighing. “It’s just that every time we meet, she clings to me relentlessly. Even though the Imperial ambassadors keep advising her not to engage me, she still provokes me every time she sees me, saying unpleasant things, trying to anger me and make me duel her. It gets really annoying after a while.”

…Hmm? Isn’t this the same tactic that the Imperial Princess used on me?

She uses the same tactic on Lucy? One trick pony?

How clumsy…

“So, what do you think of her?”

Shien asked casually.

He was thinking that if Lucy truly disliked Katarine, then he would help his future wife teach that thorny princess a lesson.

However, Lucy misunderstood.

“Why are you asking this?” Lucy narrowed her eyes, somewhat wary. “Don’t tell me you’ve taken a liking to her?”

Shien’s lips twitched.

Lucy interpreted Shien’s reaction as acquiescence, and her eyes suddenly sharpened.

“Let me tell you this first.” Lucy said in an unquestionable tone, “Whether you want to make a move on Diere, Melika, or even Vivian and the others, I won’t have any objections. But she’s the only exception.”

Lucy gave a firm order.

“…The others are fine?”

Shien originally wanted to correct Lucy’s misunderstanding, but when he heard these words, he couldn’t help but ask.

Please forgive him, he was a man.

Therefore, this question was very important, and he had to ask it clearly first.

Lucy seemed to see through Shien’s impure thoughts, her face full of disdain, but she wasn’t angry.

“In any case, you’re a proper nobleman. Whether it’s for yourself or for the future of your family, taking multiple wives or concubines is very normal. As a royal princess, I’m not so intolerant that I can’t even tolerate this.”

Lucy’s words made Shien feel, for the first time, that being reincarnated into another world was truly wonderful.

Why did so many people wish to be reincarnated into another world?

Wasn’t it because they could openly build a harem here?

Shien had thought he wasn’t a protagonist, but at this moment, he finally felt like one.

However…

“That person is not allowed, absolutely not. I advise you not to have any ideas about her.”

Lucy repeatedly rejected the idea, making Shien blink.

“Let’s not talk about whether I really want to make a move on her. Let’s just say, if I did, why wouldn’t it be allowed?” Shien asked in confusion. “Didn’t you say you just find her annoying, not that you dislike her?” 𝖗аƝòʙĘṩ

“But she dislikes me.” Lucy said bluntly. “If you’ve really met her, you should know what kind of obsession she has with me, right?”

“She is obsessed.” Shien didn’t deny it. “People who don’t know would think you two are the official pairing, and I’m the third wheel who barged in.”

“Who’s a pair with her? What nonsense are you talking about?” Lucy said angrily. “I just want to tell you that the relationship between the kingdom and the empire is already very tense. After the [Assassination Branch] incident ten years ago, the relationship between the two countries has become even more strained. If you want to bring Katarine Ragna into your family, do you think things will become less complicated?”

It would definitely create a lot of complicated and difficult-to-resolve relationships, like a spiderweb.

“Because of the incident ten years ago, commoners aside, the kingdom’s nobles have secretly forbidden intermarriage with the empire’s nobles. Adding Katarine Ragna’s obsession with me, think for yourself, if you make a move on her, just how troublesome it will become.”

Lucy warned him like this.

“I don’t want you to become a point of conflict between the two countries, and I don’t want to share a household with Katarine Ragna. So, don’t blame me for not warning you.”

Shien took these words to heart.

After all, he hated trouble and had even wanted to distance himself from Lucy because of it. He definitely wanted to stay far away from a perpetual second-place and an even bigger source of trouble.

“I’ll just honestly corrupt the good women of the kingdom. Let the empire’s women be corrupted by their own people.”

Shien unconsciously said these words.

“…As long as you understand. Although after hearing what you said, for some reason, I want to hit you even more.”

Lucy was half-relieved and half-speechless.

In short, Lucy hoped Shien would stay away from Katarine as much as possible.

“Her obsession with me is obvious to anyone, even greater than others imagine. Not only when she meets me in person, but even when she encounters things related to me, she focuses all her attention on them and tries every means to prove she’s better than me in various areas.”

Lucy admonished him quite seriously.

“That Imperial Princess must already know about your connection with me. Since she knows, it’s very likely she’ll actively come looking for trouble with you. You must be careful!”

Unfortunately, it was too late.

Your husband has already beaten her up and is probably hated by her now.

Unaware of this, Lucy continued to warn him.

“If she causes you trouble, it’s best not to have a direct conflict with her.”

“Her strength is not to be underestimated. Not only does she have a replica Holy Sword that the empire spent five hundred years creating, but her Unique Skill is a powerful force that integrates offense, defense, and support. When she reached adulthood, she almost swept through the entire empire. Apart from a few legendary figures above level ninety, ordinary people are simply no match for her.”

“Even I was challenged by her several times, and I barely managed to win each time, almost using my full strength.”

“So, don’t think you can easily deal with her.”

Lucy, like a caring wife, kept giving advice.

Shien didn’t tell Lucy that he had already won. He just listened to her with amusement.

He knew that although Lucy was somewhat worried, she wasn’t truly concerned.

Even though Lucy still didn’t know Shien’s true limits, she understood his hidden depths better than others.

Not only was the power of the Holy Sword he possessed far greater than her Mitra Holy Sword, but even in the Garibaldi incident, while others thought Yulin had acted, Lucy knew it was Shien’s own doing.

Moreover, Shien was a genuine Hero, and he had Airi and Yulin by his side. If something could happen to him under these circumstances, then the plot must have gone haywire, the author of this book must be brain-dead and trying to poison readers, wanting to take revenge on society and forcibly disgust readers.

Therefore, Lucy’s words seemed to be out of concern but were actually just unnecessary worrying.

But it couldn’t be helped. This princess had worked hard through a dull and boring day, and now she finally had the chance to talk to her lover. Even if it was unnecessary worrying, she was willing to do it.

Clearly understanding this, Shien didn’t directly tell Lucy that she was wasting her breath, that he had already dealt with the Imperial Princess. Instead, he honestly listened to every word Lucy said, spending a rather heartwarming time with this seemingly flawless, but actually innocent, kind, and adorable little princess.

Surely, Katarine would never imagine that the opponent she dreamed of defeating was actually just a pitiful little girl who was afraid of loneliness, afraid of being alone, and had to respond to the expectations of those around her, painstakingly suppressing herself and living each day of her life.

Thinking of this, Shien’s gaze towards Lucy gradually softened.

“Wh…Why are you looking at me like that?”

Noticing Shien’s gaze, Lucy became a little embarrassed.

“Nothing.” Shien shook his head, then suddenly smiled. “I just suddenly feel that marrying you doesn’t seem so bad.”

“…Did you think marrying me was a bad thing before?” Lucy gritted her teeth as if wanting to bite something, her tone unfriendly. “So, what made you change your mind now?”

“Of course, it’s for you.” Shien shrugged, smiling. “As long as we get married, you won’t have to live such a dull and boring life anymore. When you enter my household, you can relax however you want, no need to hide yourself anymore.”

Hearing this, Lucy fell silent.

After a while, the princess spoke in a mosquito-like voice.

“Actually, that’s what I’ve been thinking about too…”

That was the case.

In the past, Lucy had always thought she would have to live her entire life wearing a mask, and because of this, she didn’t even dare to get too close to the opposite sex.

But now, Shien had become the only person who understood and knew her, and they even had a physical relationship.

In the future, if she married Shien, she wouldn’t need to wear a mask anymore, nor would she need to deal with those dull and boring tasks. She could be with Shien and freely express herself.

Sometimes, thinking about such a future, Lucy would even wake up smiling in her sleep.

Shien truly found this girl incredibly adorable.

As the Kingdom’s treasure, the most beautiful woman in the human race, she actually had such a girlish side, enough to drive any man wild.

Fortunately, he had successfully plucked this high-mountain flower.

“I’ll be so blessed in the future!”

Shien also looked forward to such a future.

But one thing at a time.

“After I’m done having fun, I’ll marry you.”

“…Come here, let me give you a buff.”

Undoubtedly, this phrase was learned from Shien.

Seeing this trend, who knew what shape this princess, currently with a girlish demeanor, would be molded into by Shien in the future.
