The Devil Does Not Need to Be Defeated

Chapter 341: “What Fucking Business Is That of Yours?”

“Clang!”

With a clear metallic clashing sound, the pure while imitation Holy Sword had slashed forth like a flash and slammed into the hurriedly raised sealed Holy Sword, creating a shower of sparks.

That Empire princess named Katarine had dashed before Shien before anyone noticed and swung her sword, creating this situation.

“Oh? So you were able to react in time, huh?”

Katarine’s pretty brows raised slightly as a hint of surprise showed on her beautiful face.

Although Katarine didn’t put her full effort into that strike just now, she was still striking with the imitation Holy Sword. For any normal knight, never mind blocking it, they might not even have been able to react before they were struck and cut down.

“So that’s how it is. Being able to gain the favor of Lucilosti Mitra. That doesn’t seem to be some joke of a rumor after all.”

Katarine said something like that, which made Shien with his raise Holy Sword raise an eyebrow too.

“You know Lucy?”

Shien asked that question without thinking.

Who could have expected that this question of his would end up getting him an unexpected reply.

“Of course I know her.” Katarine’s expression turned cold and she even ground her teeth together, “I wouldnʼt forget that woman even if I were to forget everything important in these 17 years of my life.”

Those words leaked out a shocking amount of obsession and hatred.

Shien’s eyes immediately narrowed.

It looks like this Empire princess and Kingdom princess has some connections that few knows of.

Only, this connection is definitely not the good kind.

“Did that woman not come?” Katarine stared intently at Shien as she coldly spoke, “Is it that she’s afraid to come because she knows I’m here? Or is it that this insignificant border incident not worth the greatest talent of the Kingdom in a thousand years taking action?”

When he heard those word, Shien turned unhappy.

The hell? Talking smack about his wife when she’s not around?

What do you think I, as her man, is?

Thus, Shien spoke without hesitation.

“I don’t even know where the hell you popped out from, girl.”

The meaning behind Shien’s words were quite obvious. He was telling her to not get conceited. No one even knows that she’s here, nor would Lucy be so far away because of any fear.

To put it bluntly, it would be something like…

“The fuck are you?”

As Shien spoke, he also released powerful waves of magic power.

“Bang!”

Katarine was blown away by the shockwave of the magic power released by Shien. She slid across the ground as she was pushed some distance away.

“That magic power…”

Katarine was rather surprised. She seemed to have been shocked by the powerful magic power that Shien has shown.

“Your highness!”

“Your highness!”

When the surrounding female knights saw this, they all reacted with alarm and glared angrily at Shien, readying themselves to attack.

“Stop!”

Katarine ordered her knights to a halt as she coldly gazed toward Shien.

“You’re the first person who has ever dared to say something like that to me.”

So Katarine spoke.

“Is that so.” Shien just smirked, “Sorry, I was an adventurer before I became a noble, so I’m an uncouth person. In the end, I’m different from you spoiled and carefully raised princesses, so please forgive me, alright?”

“Are you insulting me?” Katarine smiled, but that smile did not reach her eyes, “Do you act like this in front of Lucilosti as well?”

“What?” Shien grined, “Is there an issue with that?”

“If the answer is yes, then there isn’t.” Katarine spoke calmly, “But if not, then that proves that you’re not some uncouth person who treats everyone the same. Instead, you’re just like the other men, a mere vulgar man who only knows to orbit that woman.”

In other words, this Empire princess could forgive Shien for being an uncouth man, but she wouldn’t be able to forgive him for being a vulgar man.

It’s because this difference in treatment will only make her disdainful and feel unpleasant.

Katarine has encountered similar situations before, after all.

“The men of the Kingdom only knows to orbit that woman. They might act oh so gentlemanly on the surface, but in reality, they’re just looking for any excuse to stand up for that woman. The moment they hear me say any insult about that woman, they’d immediately try to stand out like they want to show off or if they got provoked.”

Katarine so spoke with a disdainful voice.

“You’re probably the same too, right? You want to gain the favor of Lucilosti Mitra by crushing me, right? But I’m going to have to tell you to not let your imagination get away from you. That woman won’t consider any man worthy of her. Your actions, in her eyes, is probably no different from a clown’s performance, not worth mentioning at all.”

When he heard Katarine’s words, Shien frowned.

The next second.

“…!?”

Katarine reacted with alarm and hurriedly raised the imitation Holy Sword in her hands in a block just like what Shien did a moment ago.

At that same moment, Shien’s figure turned into a blur and suddenly appeared before Katarine. The Holy Sword in his hands also struck like a bolt of lightning and flashed forth.

“Clang-!”

A gong-like clang rang out.

The lightning quick slash slammed heavily into the imitation Holy Sword that Katarine raised up, the impact blasting out a wave of force.

Katarine only felt an enormous force explode upon the imitation Holy Sword that she raised up in a block before she was blown away. She ended up rolling on the ground shamefully several times before she finally managed to push off the stone beneath her and using that to push herself back up into the air and spinning herself back upright before landing back on the ground standing.

“Your highness!”

The female knights of the Shattered Blade Knight Order all screamed out in alarm. Not even Katarine had expected Shien to suddenly attack her like that, and that strike was also so quick and heavy that she was almost unable to react in time, thus leading to her embarrassment just now.

Katarine was both shocked and enraged by that.

Shien on the other hand just looked at Katarine with a sarcastic smirk.

“I don’t know just what issue you have with my Lucy, but I do want to say something. Any person of the Kingdom should stand up in the face of an insult to our princess, or are you saying that we should instead be standing up for a jealous Imperial like you?”

Shien spoke like he’s talking to an idiot.

“As for whether or not she cares for us, what fucking business is that of yours? Princess?”

That harsh speech make Katarine show an ugly look on her face.

And those Knight of the Broken Blade were finally unable to hold themselves back anymore.

“Shut up!”

“Don’t you dare insult her highness!”

“Damnable Kingdom lackey!”

Several of the female knights shouted out angrily and even extended their hands, called up their magic power, and some even charged right at Shien.

“[Enchant – Bind].”

Shien immediately cast his own spell, soaking his magic power into the air, turning the air into raw pressure and enveloping each and every one of those female knights with it.

The knights were instantly paralyzed like they were frozen on the spoke, unable to move a muscle.

“Enchant magic?”

Katarine spoke out loud in surprise.

This man has actually learned enchant magic?

True enough. He does appear to have a great deal of magic power. This kind of magic’s effectiveness depends greatly on the magic power fueling it. It’s useless in the hands of normal people, but very powerful in the hands of people with strong magic power. It’s a magic that greatly tests one’s abilities, so it does indeed suit him.

Only, this means that she might have a hard time now.

Originally, Katarine has even been wondering the whole time, given that he could enter the eyes of that woman, just what kind of ability Shien might have besides having tamed a dragon.

Now, she knows that Shien’s personal strength may rival her own.

This has changed the way that Katarine was looking at Shien.

“Interesting.”

Katarine has always believed at among those in their age category, there doesn’t exist a person at the same level as her and that woman.

But now, Shien has shown an overwhelming might. It told Katarine that this world does not lack for geniuses.

This made Katarine’s eyes light up with the will to battle.

And a powerful magic power also started leaking from her own bod, shaking the air.

“Oh?”

Shien’s lips quirked up.

Shien had known since the moment Katarine appeared that this princess of the Empire was no ordinary person.

That’s right.

Katarine’s level is 70, completely matching that of Lucy.

The skills that she has learned are similarly not low leveled, only slightly below that of Lucy’s.

She also has that imitation Holy Sword, which is not to be underestimated.

Add in this great magical power, if she also has a powerful unique skill as well, then perhaps only Lucy would be able to stand above her among those in their age category.

This also made Shien a little interested.

“Come on then.” Shien beckoned at Katarine with his fingers, “Let me see then just which is stronger, the princess of the Kingdom or the princess of the Empire.”

Those words induced a change in the fighting intent in Katarine’s eyes.

It turned even more shocking, more terrifying.

It can’t be helped.

Who is stronger?

Does it even need to be said?

“Of course it’s me!”

The ground beneath Katarine suddenly exploded as she rocketed toward Shien.

Her speed was like lightning.

“[Flying Star]!”

Shien didn’t hesitate at all and instantly released the astro magic, causing countless tiny meteors descend from the sky like a rain of light, showering the location were Katarine is.

“[Divert]!”

Face with the rain of light, Katarine didn’t dodge at all. She just chanted an extremely short incantation, making the imitation Holy Sword in her hands shine with light.

“Bang bang bang bang bang-!”

The rain of light instantly fell upon Katarine’s body, constantly striking her curvy figure.

However, Katarine wasn’t affected at all. She just pushed right through that rain of light and charged at Shien.

Shien immediately understood what was going on.

“Setting her imitation Holy Sword’s effect on resisting damage and coupling it with a defensive skill to forcibly charge right through, huh?”

This princess is unexpectedly tough.
