The Devil Does Not Need to Be Defeated

Chapter 344: “Let Me Show You.”

Naturally, the Holy Sword wasn’t something to be used casually in public.

It was fine in front of trustworthy people, and in unavoidable life-or-death situations, Shien wouldn’t hesitate to unleash the Holy Sword’s power and use it openly. But in the current situation, Shien didn’t feel he was pushed to that point.

Moreover, Katarine’s replica Holy Sword would unlock its inherent limitations when encountering the true Holy Sword, and even absorb the Holy Sword’s power to achieve the true form a Holy Sword should possess. If Shien unleashed the Holy Sword here, Katarine would similarly become stronger.

Shien didn’t want to engage in this kind of act of aiding his opponent and making them more powerful.

Thinking of this, Shien suddenly smiled.

“I still have more power I haven’t shown. Why resort to my trump card?”

That was right.

Although Katarine had indeed become much stronger after using her Unique Skill, Shien had also become much stronger.

During the month he spent diligently studying in the royal capital, Shien not only significantly increased his level due to growth but also gained new power.

Therefore…

“Come on.”

Shien once again beckoned Katarine.

“Let me show you my current full power.”

Full power in his normal state, without unleashing the Holy Sword.

Katarine seemed to understand something, her eyes sharpening.

“Bang!”

In the next moment, Katarine, without a word, vigorously flapped her white wings, creating a sonic boom as she transformed into a flash of light, launching a high-speed assault.

“Boom!”

However, almost at the same time, spectacular magic power surged from Shien’s body.

Magic power coursed through his entire being, making the space around Shien seem as if a storm had descended, swirling up dust and gravel, creating a terrifying spectacle. ṚÅꞐǒᛒΕs̈

In this instant, Shien brought forth everything he had.

[Enemy Detection] and [Magic Perception] told Shien the opponent’s location and speed.

[God of War] allowed Shien to instantly grasp the battle situation, judging all combat changes from the movements of every plant and tree, and even predict a series of subsequent battle conditions.

Each move of [Two-Handed Sword] replayed rapidly in Shien’s mind, allowing him to find the sword skills most suitable for dealing with the opponent before him.

A series of skills, including [Evasion], [Penetration], [Limit Evolution], and all resistance skills, were fully operational, steadily increasing Shien’s chances of victory bit by bit.

Indeed, Shien’s Unique Skill didn’t directly enhance his combat abilities, but the improvement it brought him had already accumulated steadily in his daily life.

How could ordinary people so easily learn so many skills?

How could others’ skill levels reach Shien’s height?

Coupled with the maximum growth in all aspects during level-ups, Shien’s Unique Skill had allowed him to transform from a powerless person from another world into a true hero in just a few months. It was also the fundamental reason why he could challenge so many strong opponents in this world with a level of only fifty-five, despite the significant level difference.

Therefore, if it came to using Unique Skills, Shien had actually already used his.

Otherwise, how could he overcome such a large level gap, surpass so many others’ advantages, and then challenge them?

Now, Shien unleashed all the power his Unique Skill had granted him.

“Swish!”

The instant Katarine’s replica Holy Sword, shining with the brilliance of [Demon Sword], came crashing down, Shien suddenly vanished, using [Instant Movement] to appear beside Katarine.

Katarine sensed it.

However, by the time she wanted to launch an attack, Shien had already begun to move.

“[Bestow: Slow]”

Shien cast his magic on Katarine.

“This is…!?”

Katarine’s expression changed slightly.

Because she clearly felt that her speed, which had been like lightning, suddenly decreased significantly, becoming unhurried.

“Abnormal status type Bestowal Magic…!?”

While increasing the magic power within her body to resist the abnormal status affecting her, Katarine slashed at Shien using the [Flashing Sword] technique.

But at this moment, Shien vanished again, appearing on Katarine’s other side.

“[Bestow: Gravity]”

Shien placed his hand on the wings behind Katarine and cast new Bestowal Magic, causing magic power to surge.

“Ugh…!?”

Katarine’s figure suddenly became extremely unstable. The light wings behind her suddenly became incredibly heavy, almost causing her to fall to the ground.

Taking advantage of this opportunity, Shien unhesitatingly cast negative status type Bestowal Magic one after another.

“[Bestow: Stiffness]”

“[Bestow: Drain]”

“[Bestow: Deterioration]”

“[Bestow: Blindness]”

“[Bestow: Paralysis]”

Various negative status effects piled up on Katarine, causing the terrifying aura erupting from her like a volcano to gradually diminish. In the end, it was as if she was carrying an invisible mountain on her back, unable to even breathe, and she fell directly towards the ground.

“Ugh…ah…!”

Katarine’s voice was filled with anguish.

It couldn’t be helped.

“Stiffness” made it impossible for Katarine to move her body flexibly.

“Drain” caused Katarine’s magic power and stamina to drain at an extremely rapid rate.

“Deterioration” weakened all aspects of Katarine’s abilities.

“Blindness” robbed Katarine of her vision, and “Paralysis” caused her entire body to convulse, feeling waves of numbness and pain.

Coupled with “Slow” and “Gravity,” Shien had inflicted seven negative statuses on Katarine in one breath, and each one was a characteristic of Advanced Bestowal Magic.

Katarine naturally also had skills to remove abnormal statuses, but against Shien’s full-powered Advanced Magic, how could she possibly cancel them?

One must know that Shien was someone who used Basic Magic as Advanced Magic. Now, with his astonishing magic power, he was using genuine Advanced Magic. How could ordinary abnormal status defense skills easily cancel them?

It could be said that if not for the fact that part of the effects had already been offset by skills, amplified by her Unique Skill, and aided by the power of the replica Holy Sword, Katarine would already be completely unable to move.

Under such circumstances…

“—With vast magic power, guide the celestial stars—”

Shien chanted the magic spell.

“—Countless shimmering lights, blazing flames, heed the call of the one who governs the night sky, and at this moment, reveal the mysteries and trajectories of the gods—”

“—That is light—”

“—That is the mighty power of heaven—”

“—Therefore, shine, stars—”

“—Thus, descend, light—”

The vast magic power swirling around Shien instantly transformed into starlight, shining like the Milky Way.

That was Advanced Magic from Celestial Magic.

“[Starry Arrays]!”

The starlight wandering around Shien instantly transformed into celestial bodies, like miniature planets, carrying earth-shattering magic power and dazzling starlight, streaking towards Katarine one by one.

The scene was like turning this piece of heaven and earth into the cosmos, causing the numerous celestial bodies to operate according to the most profound trajectories.

“…!?”

Although she had lost her vision, Katarine, who had slightly resisted some of the negative effects, still vaguely saw the scene, causing her face to show shock.

“Wha…What magic is that…!?”

Clearly, Katarine couldn’t recognize Shien’s Celestial Magic.

But judging from the astonishing magic power carried by each celestial body, Katarine had reason to believe that it was extremely dangerous.

“Aaaaaaaaaah…!”

Immediately, Katarine screamed, mobilizing all the magic power within her body, as if exhausting all the remaining power within her. She finally temporarily resisted the Bestowal Magic imposed on her, flapping her white wings and flying towards the sky.

However, the celestial bodies, as if possessing life, flexibly changed direction and altered their trajectories. With a single shift, they formed a different array, like a large net, chasing after Katarine.

Katarine could only continuously flap her wings, transforming into a white stream of light, constantly dodging the pursuit of the celestial bodies.

Unfortunately, it wasn’t long before Katarine discovered to her horror that she had been surrounded at some point and had fallen into the array formed by the celestial bodies.

At this moment, celestial bodies revolved around Katarine in front, behind, left, right, and even above and below, emitting starlight.

With a sense of foreboding in her heart, Katarine didn’t hesitate to rush towards the nearest celestial body. Raising the replica Holy Sword in her hand, she imbued it with the [Demon Sword] skill, using her strongest power to slash at it.

“Clang!”

The celestial body suddenly shone brightly, and a ribbon of light shot out, striking Katarine’s body.

“Bang!”

With an explosion-like sound, a burst of light erupted on Katarine’s body, sending her flying.

Katarine wasn’t injured.

At the critical moment, her wings spread out behind her, blocking in front of her, preventing the incoming ribbon of light from hitting her directly.

However…

“Clang!” “Clang!” “Clang!” “Clang!”

Around Katarine, the celestial bodies shone brightly one after another.

Ribbons of light were continuously released, shooting towards Katarine’s location.

In just an instant, ribbons of light attacked Katarine from all directions, causing her to hold her breath and quickly spread her white wings, enveloping her entire body.

“Bang, bang, bang, bang, bang—!”

Countless ribbons of light immediately bombarded the white wings, creating bursts of light and roars.

Suddenly, winds howled, the earth shook, impacts erupted, and magic power went haywire.

In the mid-air of Cosmos, countless celestial bodies surrounded a pair of white wings, continuously releasing ribbons of light and bombarding them. The resulting bursts of light and roars were like a supernova explosion, terrifying enough to shake the entire Cosmos.

The people within Cosmos hid in buildings, listening to the roars, watching the terrifying bursts of light, and enduring the violent tremors. Screams and exclamations continued, and the panic was difficult to quell.

“Wha…What is that…?”

Even Limgir, Yuri, and Sona of the First Knight Order, who were dealing with the collapsing buildings, saw this scene in the sky and were horrified.

On the ground, the female knights who were still bound watched the spectacle with even greater anxiety.

Shien floated in mid-air, holding the Holy Sword, surrounded by numerous celestial bodies.

Magic power surged from his body as if it were endless.
