The Conquerors Path

Chapter 992: Chapter 990-Good Taste.

”Sorry for the wait, it’s been a hectic time all around.”

A man spoke to me as he came into the waiting room. It’s right now, the next day after the whole threesome with Eira and Luminara. It was a fun affair, but I have busy stuff to do, so I moved into the next important action that I have to do. So I gave them the next steps and some more actions they have to complete, and I set to here.

I have a lot of plans in motion pertaining to my company, which will all be implemented slowly. The main reason I took elves as the head is due to that very fact, their long life span, even without hunting for strength, is extremely useful to create a long-term legacy and keep control over the actions.

Not to mention, with elves being the richest around, they are really good in business, accounts, and various other factors. So all of them coming together really helped me with choosing them in the past. Though right now, I have superiors and a lot more options, I still plan to just keep them. They have done a good job, and I wish to keep it up for them.

So the next day, after all the relations were certain teachings and stuff, after which I directly headed here, headed towards the main center and held of the war council. Oh, boy, it was a shitfest all around, everyone tumbling around in issues, which means towards the fact that everyone is busy.

The next day after the problems I caused, I could already see the fact that the war council had been put into fierce action. They were humiliated publicly and openly in a vast way. I had, after all, ripped open their heart and showed corruption right at the centre, which means they were asleep at the wheel. Ohh... they were asleep at the wheel a lot.

Thus, criticisms, problems, and pointed fingers all rained down upon them in a big, big manner, leading towards a full internal review. Every member was put through rigorous testing, planning, and meetings. Several large-scale meetings took place, and to show the world that it’s not fully down, several new policies were also put into effect.

It was a big for all moment with a burning amount of issues and problems, all being dealt with, which meant the war council fell under a lot of pressure and problems. And right at the centre of it all, the one who caused it was now disguised and sitting in the waiting room. I can tell you now, a lot of many powerful figures of the war council definitely want me dead.

If they do get their hands on me, I can guarantee that they will kill me directly. And here I am, sitting in the center here in the waiting room. Athena was worried sick, I tell you, sick. She even wanted to march and come along with me. I had barely stopped her from doing that, which still doesn’t mean she isn’t there, sitting at home, worried.

It was only after I promised that I would directly contact her once it’s all done and set up a time limit after which she could make a move to make sure I am okay, that she let me leave. Though not before offloading some powerful protective treasures into my hand, which I wanted to reject but knew she wouldn’t allow, so I brought them along with a peace of mind for her.

Now, towards the main fact of me being here falls under the simple category of creating a simple meeting with one of the more powerful faction leaders in the war council. In normal cases, I won’t even have the authority to even set a meeting like this, but right now, I did get the one, since the war council does indeed want to stay on the good side of the DarkNight.

Being the leading members in creating and spreading information and maintaining the subtle rumour mills, the war council desperately needs the support and words of such information, to make sure to bring back the prestige as fast as possible. Plus, there is another added reason too, which they are hiding.

’They want to meet me.’

The concept of ”Rex” had arrived like a meteor, broke through their best genius, which is considered a once-in-a-million genius, and disappeared. They couldn’t even get a swath of information about me. I mean, they tried, they tried really hard to get any information more about me, but they could get shit, which only made them more wary and, from a certain angle, want me even more.

And right now, they had been humiliated by Austin Lionheart, and now they also understood that controlling Austin Lionheart might not be as simple as they thought. With just that one display of power, I had set forth a level of precedence never seen before, which will remain with a certain question in their hearts, which would desperately need answers.

Do I have more stones?

Those stones that give me the power of a dragon, do I have more?

Until that question is answered, they would need to tuck their tails and keep hiding away from my wrath, because if I ever wished to go all hail Mary and do some shit, then I could most definitely cause a lot of problems. Of course, there will be consequences for me, and there are actual safeguards kept in place so that something like this doesn’t really happen.

But that still doesn’t take away the fear of it all. So they need a new party. They need a new symbol they can show to the world as their big hero, a super powerful individual that blows might with his overall genius powers, someone that they could use to eclipse Austin Lionheart.

And right now, when they are struggling for someone like that to show up, it’s like dangling a juicy piece of meat right in front of some starving wolves. They have no choice but to bite into it and try to see if they can get it, even if they suspect the meat is filled with poison.

Thus, the moment the DarkNight called and when it was known that it was for ”me,” the member I wanted to contact readily agreed to the meet. Thus, I came down here and am now in the waiting room to be called in. It’s been half an hour since I was supposed to meet, and now this dude comes on to call me out.

’Though this is one good-looking waiting room, I can give it that.’

I smiled at it, as the whole room itself was built for a single person to wait in, with the word luxury not being enough to define how good the place looks, like with gold-plated stuff around, a big ass chandelier in the ceiling, amazing temperature and atmosphere, some extremely expensive foods and more. So I didn’t complain as I responded.

”It’s fine, I can understand how hectic things can get.”

Saying so, I stood up, smiling at the man as I asked.

”Shall we?”

”Oh, yes, of course, this way.”

Saying so, the man started to lead me out of the room. The outside place was a vast, majestic place where I could see several people moving around, several species of them interacting and more. The opening through which I walked was more of a central area spot for several members of the war council.

Like a communal centre.

Thus, the man, fully respectful, soon led me through the place towards a connecting hallway, which was sealed off with protective layers, which he soon overrode with his permission, walking in as I followed along. This place indeed had some people moving here and there, all of them looking important and powerful, as I could see several connecting doors in the hallways, several people entering and leaving them.

”The majority of such talks take place in secure rooms headed away from teleportation. The Madam Belzebeth wishes to talk with you in her own personal meeting room. It’s a very big honour.”

”Then the honour is all mine.”

I said with a smile towards the leading man, as we soon reached towards a door in the hallway that had more of a certain red bat-like symbol on it, which he opened. The door itself, when opened, created a shining portal, to which he pointed at it, standing by the side of the door with a respectful nod. I gave him the nod back as I walked through the portal.

My senses flashing, after which I arrived through another door, a woman this time waiting for me. The woman in question, being a vampire, has pale, red eyes and a bob cut with the colour black. She looked to be in her 30s, wearing a secretary-like dress. The moment I arrived, she was about to speak, but for some reason, she paused, like she was struck by lightning or something.

”Gulp...”

Being what came out of her.
