The Conquerors Path

Chapter 956: Chapter 954-Gone...

Quickly blocking off anyone, I found myself in a room. I could have pushed all that during the fight, but no longer. Right now, I needed to clear my head, and I needed answers, fast!

’Okay, system, what the fuck was all that??!’

I screamed as I seated myself on the sofa, my mind now fully able to appreciate the fact of how fucked up I have become.

[It’s just as it sounds. Before, your soul, even though it was in this body, didn’t technically belong to this dimensional barrier, but now, having stepped into the divinity of this dimension yourself, you have been fully accepted by this world.]

My expression remained calm as I took in those words. The words themselves somehow seemed to mean that this is good for me, but somehow I doubt it.

’What’s up with all the other messages? Did I lose some kind of protection? Why did the girls suddenly rise up into such a high level of explosion?’

The system seemed to take a moment, after which it spoke.

[You must have seen all of it by now, and you had added the scenario into your accounts, but the sudden rise for all this is due to the main facts of you reaching the acceptance and gaining the required affection total levels needed, which broke off the protection that was given to you.]

I didn’t directly reply to it. I just seated myself in the chair, my mind whirling through the words themselves, dissecting it to understand better.

’What kind of protection?’

[Protection from fate screwing you over. Come on, even you have to admit that till now the girls not meeting or nothing bad happening can’t just be added up all to just your meticulous planning.]

I stayed silent at that reply, because in ways that was indeed true.

[Majority of your achievements are your own. The planning and everything you did is the reason everything stayed safe till now, but there was also the subtle effect of a certain protection on you that gave you the luck to keep everything together and make it all work. It was done to actually give you a fighting chance more; also, it was needed in the sense to completely integrate you to this dimension.]

’Hummm... I need to think.’

As the DemiGod right now, I contain more information than before, especially with the connection I have. Thus, I could understand the type better. Ever since I did become what I am now, I felt more connected to this world, as if I was finally a part of it. It was an addition that would happen with the increase in power and integration.

’The affection points received, that was the final nail in the coffin, right?’

[Yes.]

Closing my eyes, I leaned into the sofa, my mind running around different situations, trying to understand. While I do appreciate the help, it wasn’t that much. The protection was mainly done to protect me from the eye of every other being, just making me look like I belong to this realm, something even the supreme Gods couldn’t detect. And now, I don’t need that anymore, because I belong here now.

The added protection that kept me safe came with the effect of keeping luck by my side, such that at times things would go my way. It means the situation around me will only get tougher.

’The one that placed the extra blessing, who was it?’

[That...]

The silence was more than enough for me to understand the hidden roads to it. As I said, when I stepped into this realm, I got to learn a lot about the world and the cosmos as a whole, its functions and everything, and with it also came some new revelations about myself, about me in a deeper realm.

The main questions being: who split me up?

Why did that happen? How did that happen? Where did all that come from?

The real Austin, in a sense, is also a part of me. I had combined the corrupted soul to myself and still hold at the True Half God level, but that means my soul from the very beginning itself was that of a God. I wasn’t, in the technically sense, a true human born, which means there lay even more secrets for me to uncover.

’Was it the other soul part that supplies you with the power who gave me the blessing to last this long?’

[I can’t answer that.]

The system reply only opened up another path for me to think in. The girls are now definitely going to interact more, and once they understand each other’s feelings for me, then it will be an all-out war for me to deal with. My connection to the Akashic records opens up more info, but it also comes with questions, and I can tell, once I acquire the 3rd soul, I will know the full truth.

I let the silence stretch, the kind that presses against your eardrums like deep water. The sofa under me was some expensive shit thing that squeaked when I shifted, but right then it felt like the only solid point in a universe that had just tilted forty-five degrees. My pulse was still hammering from the news, from the notifications, from the way the girls had looked at me—like I was a prize and a threat in the same breath.

I rubbed my temples. ”System, give it to me straight. No more riddles. What happens now that the training wheels are off?”

[Host, the ’training wheels’ were never about power. They were about concealment. You were a glitch in the matrix, a soul wearing a meatsuit that didn’t quite match the serial number. The protection kept the cosmic immune system from tagging you as malware. Now you’re compiled native code. Congratulations, you’re officially part of the ecosystem.]

”Great. So the universe is about to blue-screen me.”

[Not necessarily. But the girls’ affection meters just hit critical mass. The moment you crossed the divinity threshold, the suppression field collapsed. Their emotions aren’t filtered through plot armour anymore. They feel what they feel, raw. And they’re going to act on it.]

I exhaled through my teeth. Raw. That was the word. I’d spent months—years?—choreographing distance, timing confessions like chess moves, making sure no two heroines occupied the same zip code unless I had an exit strategy. And yeah, the system was right: some of those narrow escapes had smelled like more than luck. A traffic jam that kept Mira from bumping into Lena at the café. I’d chalked it up to my own brilliance. Turns out the universe had been running interference.

Past tense.

I stood, pacing the room.

”Walk me through the numbers,” I said. ”How bad is the overlap?”

A holographic pane flickered into existence, numbers scrolling like stock tickers.

======

Mira – Affection: 300 → ??? (Post-Ascension Surge)

Olivia – Affection: 320 → ???

Nora – Affection: 200 → ??? (Yandere Flag Active)

Rina – Affection: 100 → 222

======

And a dozen more names I’d been juggling like flaming chainsaws. Every single one had spiked past the hidden ”Confession Lock” threshold the moment I’d accepted the dimensional imprint.

I swallowed.

[Yandere subroutine fully unlocked. Recommend immediate emotional triage.]

Triage. Right. Because apparently my love life was now a battlefield MASH unit.

I dropped back onto the sofa, staring at the ceiling. There was a water stain up there shaped like a continent I didn’t recognise. ”Okay. Worst-case scenario. They all find out about each other at once. What’s the fallout?”

======

Probable outcomes:

1. Polygamous resolution (0.0000?% chance, requires Charisma 500+ and diplomatic mastery).

2. Catastrophic jealousy cascade (64% chance, potential for lethal intra-harem conflict).

3. Host death by over-affection (17% chance, see: ’death by snu-snu’ historical precedent).

4. Dimensional exile (18% chance, if supreme deities intervene).

======

I barked a laugh that didn’t have any humor in it. ”So I’m either a sultan, a corpse, or banished to the sunknown realm. Fantastic career prospects.”

The system stayed quiet, which was its version of a shrug.

I closed my eyes and let my new senses unfurl. Divinity wasn’t just stats; it was like someone had plugged a fiber-optic cable directly into the world’s nervous system. I could feel the threads—thin, shimmering lines of fate stretching out from my chest like spider silk. One tugged northwest: Mira, probably pacing her dorm room, clutching the pendant I’d given her. Another east: Lanora in the halls, fingers drumming on her instruments. Catherine’s thread was a hot wire, vibrating with something that felt less like love and more like obsession.

I could follow any one of them. Snap my fingers and be there. But the second I did, the others would feel it. The protection was gone; my location was no longer Schrödinger’s protagonist. The problem all lay with what had happened while I was fighting. I did think there would be a day when everything would implode, but I didn’t think it would happen soon.

’I had my eye on everyone, everyone was absolutely stable all around.’

I had made sure of that by spending time with all of them, giving each of them individual love and care. But it seems when the luck fell out, it also brought the additional reaction of a corruption burst, which at that moment made the girl irrational in a sense — an irrational sense of far jealousy and fear of loss coming together.
