Summoners War: Only I Summoned Divine Beasts

Chapter 528: Unexpected Noelle

”I think I know where the tunnel will lead us.”

”!!!” This time, the war minister couldnʼt really contain his shock as he instinctively stood up.

Nathan pointed at the map again before making a straight line. ”This is the general direction of the tunnel and if you continue in this direction…”

Nathan stopped at the spot between the Azilia Kingdom and the Liaystian Kingdom.

”Thatʼs right. The spot between the Azilia Kingdom and the Liaystian Kingdom.” The war minister slammed the table. ”We donʼt distribute our soldiers evenly. We focus more on the middle because thatʼs the place receiving the full brunt of the alien attack.

”Meanwhile, on the two edges, we station fewer soldiers. On the one side, we have the sea, which is not something we should be concerned about currently. On the other side, we are working together with the people of the Azilia Kingdom.

”However, the border between nations is giving a false sign of security. Weʼre expecting each other to cover for us while not doing anything, which means the security of that area will be quite lax.

”It is a perfect place to station the army, but not a good one to attack because both nations will reinforce that spot once they get attacked.”

The war minister didnʼt think Nathan was able to see this much ahead. It was beyond his imagination.

Nathan shrugged. ”Well, this is just my assumption. Thereʼs a chance itʼs not true, so we first have to investigate the tunnel.”

”Have you sent people to check the tunnel?” The war minister asked the marquis.

”Yes. However, they havenʼt returned yet.”

”First commander, weʼll begin marching toward that spot and inspect the tunnel personally.” The war minister thought for a moment. ”If possible, weʼll clean up all those tunnels before they finish the tunnel.

”Right after they finish, we will launch an all-out attack and go straight to the end of the tunnel before going back while burying everything.”

”Yes, sir.” The middle-aged man nodded.

”We also need to inform the camp near that spot so that they can launch an attack from behind,” Nathan added.

The first commander was confused because he suddenly interjected, but the war minister actually agreed with Nathan.

”Thatʼs right. The tunnel will lead us to a kind of nest, so there will be a big battle once we reach the end. If we synchronize our attack with the people on the frontline, we can win with fewer casualties.”

”!!!” The first commander was stunned. For some reason, he stopped treating Nathan like a boy who was just sixteen years old. Instead, he looked at Nathan like that of an equal.

Flora was secretly smiling while muttering inwardly, ʼSeriously. Does he know everything? Why does it look like he knows everything?

ʼHe has been using the Ancient Library as an excuse, but isnʼt this too much? Thereʼs a limited amount of knowledge you can get just by entering the Ancient Library. His beasts? Or does he have something else?ʼ

The war minister circled his arm around Nathan while asking him to take a walk with him. ”I think we should inform this tunnel of other kingdoms, or at least the Liaystian Kingdom. After all, this place is near them as well,” the minister explained.

”No. I donʼt think so. Since weʼre the first target, itʼs our responsibility for the time being. Only after we confirm everything can we tell other kingdoms.”

”Yes. Thatʼs what I mean.” The war minister thought for a moment. ”There will be me, the first commander, and his vice commander leading the troops. Although weʼre not World Class Summoners, we can kill a warrior class alien or even an elite class if we combine our strength.”

”Are you going to the frontline directly?”

”Of course. This is a big matter, so I have to personally confirm it. Well, the situation in the kingdom has settled down a bit, so I can spare a few days. Besides, we have been sending a lot of our force to the frontline, so everyone who can contribute is expected to contribute.

”Even women and children have to participate. Even if they canʼt fight, they can still carry water for the injured, arrows, or help tend the wounded. The kids can carry stuff around, so whoever you are, you need to do it. Weʼre lucky that weʼre able to prepare early against the aliens.

”If we were too late, Sullivan might end up in danger despite having proceeded carefully. Weʼre lucky to find the tunnel…”

”Ahahaha.” Nathan let out a hollow laugh. ”Thatʼs because my mission has been going smoothly even though I know itʼs not supposed to be like that…ʼ was what Nathan wanted to say, but there was no way he could utter those words, especially to the war minister himself.

”Are you going to join the operation?”

”Yes. The tunnel should be ready in a week or so. Although weʼre not that powerful, every single one of us can still fight multiple mature class aliens. Having us help the army should allow us to advance at a much faster speed.”

”Hmm. Thatʼs a good idea. I will tell them about it. Weʼll be cleaning up the tunnel within a week. This should be enough for your group and the soldiers to bond, which allows them to recognize you and your order.”

”My order? Youʼre not trying to make me join the army, right?” Nathan smiled wryly.

The war minister looked shocked.

”You do?” Nathanʼs eyebrows twitched.

”Definitely not.” The war minister looked away playfully. It was obvious he was lying.

”…”

”Right. There is…” The war minister shifted the topic and continued talking for a while, leaving everyone to their own tasks.

After an hour of discussion, the war minister finally bid his goodbye. ”Weʼre done here. I have to lead the soldiers to that place. You can take your time.”

”Yes.” Nathan nodded politely.

Despite having such a high ranking, the war minister felt like an ordinary old man who was just trying to have an in-depth conversation with someone who understood war.

Even Nathan couldnʼt help but smile after looking at such sincerity.

”Well, I should go to Selena and the others.” Nathan muttered, thinking about regrouping with Flora and Noelle first.

To his surprise, the moment the war minister left, someone grabbed his wrist, stopping him.

”Who?” Nathan turned around, finding Noelle with a solemn expression. ”Noelle? Whatʼs wrong?”
