Summoners War: Only I Summoned Divine Beasts

Chapter 509: New Gun (Bonus)

”…” Nathan was completely speechless.

Anubis chuckled. ”Didnʼt she shoot much better than you?”

”…” Nathan scratched the back of his head. ”Well, I will do my best.”

Risa chuckled and waved her hand to Selena after she finished her enemies.

Selena glanced around while walking toward them. ”There arenʼt any strong aliens around here. Even with that kind of burst, theyʼre not coming. I think we should continue onward.”

Nathan smiled. ”You should take the lead this time. That power… are you improving my shooting skill or something? Where is the sweeping force?”

Selena shook her head. ”Not necessarily. With my new technique, I can apply two ʼSpeedsʼ while still getting power through the ʼConcentration.ʼ Thatʼs why Iʼm able to repel the mutant easily.

”Meanwhile, the last attack is formed through three ʼConcentrations,ʼ thus the power. I can feel like the former 32-Form the Principal taught me was a bit too restrictive, and this Multiflux Control allowed more freedom for my fighting style.

”Itʼs still not perfect yet, but Iʼve completed the basic concept.

”As for your shooting skill, itʼs not my intention, but I might be able to improve it. For example, when you shoot with your gun, the latter drains your ena, which causes you to be unable to use basic control, right? In that case, how about applying that control right in front of your gun so that those two will fuse together, creating an even more powerful attack?

”Itʼs going to be hard to fuse it, but once you get used to it, it will definitely become much stronger. Well, the 32-Form is more suitable for you, I think? Youʼre inputting one control in each hand and combining it like the 32-Form.”

Nathan could only shake his head helplessly against this girl. She was truly one of a kind.

At the same time, he couldnʼt help but make a small joke. ”Then, how about I use your Multiflux Control as well? I canʼt control them like you do, but what if I apply ʼConcentrationʼ into my weapon as a base? This way, I only need to add two more controls through both hands?”

”Ah!” She nodded. ”Unlike my staff, whose purpose is to enhance the power of my ena and the smoothness of my control, your gun is basically an active weapon. That might actually be possible, but it means your third control is limited to ʼʼConcentration.ʼ”

”You underestimate me. The gun is basically hollow inside. I can just add other mechanisms and create a switch for the four basic controls.” Nathan chuckled.

”…” Selena blinked her eyes. She wondered why she couldnʼt think of it. It was such a natural thing that it slipped her mind.

Selena didnʼt realize this was what Vivian experienced when taking Nathan under her wing.

”Well, to do that, you need to change your gun first.” Selena nodded.

”Yep. That can wait until weʼre back. Iʼll ask Elder Thompson to look at it.”

”In that case, I guess I will win this bet.” Selena smiled. This meant Nathan had to fulfill her wish.

”Who knows? I might win this time.” Nathan shrugged. ”Though, I wonʼt accept if you are going to tell me to go to the alien territory to find your father. I want to help you, not to commit double suicide.”

”I know that much.” Selena sighed. ”I also know that you agree to take in Flora and Noelle because of me.

”The sword saint will definitely not fulfill his agreement because of the current situation. After all, the alien territory has become much more dangerous.

”Hence, by having Flora and Noelle with us, our groupʼs strength increases tremendously. If all of us are able to kill a warrior class alien by ourselves, I believe even the sword saint has no choice but to tell us that information.”

Selena glared at Nathan as if telling him not to look at her as if she were a mindless idiot who thought with feeling. She was accustomed to hiding her feelings to endure the torture in her household, so she wasnʼt like any others.

”Besides, I should be the one to apologize.”

”Ah. You donʼt have to worry about Flora and Noelle…” Nathan waved his hand.

”I know that. After all, thatʼs what you like. Theyʼre pretty as well.” Selena snorted.

”Ahaha…” Nathan scratched the back of his head.

”I want to apologize because I might end up troubling you with something else. With the ash cloud hovering above us, itʼs clear that my uncle wonʼt be able to hold his territory.

”Although he will receive the cloud-repelling device, he will know that youʼre the one producing it, meaning it will lead back to me.

”Considering his nature, he originally planned to use a borrowed knife to kill me, probably a woman that he would put near you.

”However, even with the cloud-repelling device, the territory will continue to decline. And other people will shame him for using something from the person who oppresses him.

”In the end, he will become insane and ultimately choose a drastic measure.”

Nathanʼs expression turned dark. ”Assassination?”

”Yeah. Thatʼs why everyone is in danger, not just me. I donʼt know when it will come, so I want to get as strong as possible before they come.” Selena squinted her eyes. ”Still, it must be within the next several months. He will try to kill me before I rescue my father.”

Nathan thought for a moment. ”Suppose we have to kill your uncle…”

”Donʼt hesitate. I will kill him no matter what it takes. He is the first one to disregard the connection of the blood running through our veins.” Selena shook her head.

”So, are you going to take his seat?”

”No.”

”No? Then, are you going to let the Ashton family disappear?”

”No. It wonʼt be weird to send a mayor to take care of the territory for the time being. Itʼs easy with you and Flora here. Besides, my father will soon return after we rescue him, so he can take care of the territory and family, not me.” She shrugged.

Nathan had a wry smile on his face as he patted Selenaʼs head. ”All right. Everything will happen as you wish.”

”Shall we continue then?”

”Sure. Letʼs go.”
